Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy nodded, sitting up and looking at him. "Yes. Mum loves to make me dress up. I can only imagine what wedding dress shopping with her will be like. Perhaps I'll take Daphne with me instead," she laughed, much preferring shopping with her best friend over her mother. Getting up, she made her way to her closet where she began to dig through, searching for something comfy but presentable and fancy, perhaps something she hadn't worn in a while, something for a special occasion such as this, the first dinner together with her parents since Draco put a ring on her finger.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco watched her walk over to the closet before getting up himself and grabbing nice black trousers, a White shirt and a dark green tie. He changed and tossed his dirty clothes over next to his bag. Glancing at Pansy she was still near her closet so he wandered into the bathroom to brush his hair and tie his tie. As he walked out of the bathroom Pansy walked into it holding a dress and he heading over to the bed and lay down on it, closing his eyes while he waited for her.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy finally selected one, grabbing the silky fabric and waiting outside the bathroom door. Once Draco came out, she slipped in and changed into the dress quickly. Opening the door, she remained inside to arrange her hair, trying to make it behave a little better than it was. Finally giving up on any change, she stepped out of the bathroom and approached the bed where Draco was. She was wearing a strapless silvery dress of light, flowy fabric, hitting just above her knees. There were lines of brighter silver running through it, creating subtle organic patterns on the fabric, only visible in just the right light. "So what do you think? I forgot I had this one, actually."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco opened his eyes and sat up, smiling and reaching out to brush a finger over the dress. "Beautiful. Now just one more thing," he stood up and pulled her to her feet, taking her over to the mirror and telling her to close her eyes. When he had made sure they were closed he went back to his bag and pulled out a small box. Removing the contents he stepped up behind her, draping the necklace carefully around her neck and clasping it, settling her hair behind and running his fingers over her bare shoulders. "Take a look." It was another family heirloom but not one his mother had ever worn. It had been originally designed to complement the ring but Lucius had had a different piece made for his bride, a heaver more dramatic choker. This was thin and delicate, perfect for Pansy. It was a sliver strand with tiny emerald and diamond flowers all over it, matching the ones on her ring.
Re: Parkinson Home
A tiny cold chill took her for a moment as his finger moved over her dress. She followed along behind him to the mirror, and closed her eyes as he asked. She wasn't sure what exactly he was searching for in his bag, but she couldn't wait to see. Though she thought about peeking, but knew he'd notice and make her keep her eyes closed anyway. A smile spread slowly across her lips when she felt a necklace settle on her chest, and Draco clasping it at the back of her neck. The chills reappeared when he moved his hands slowly over her shoulders, and she opened her eyes to look. Immediately she leaned forward to look at it more closely. "It's beautiful," she breathed, reaching up to touch it gently, almost nervously as if a touch would break it. As she raised her hand, she saw that it was made to match the ring, the same little emerald and diamond flowers on it as the ones on her finger. Spinning around, she put her arms around Draco's neck in a warm hug. "Thank you."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco smiled at her, his hands settling on her hips, fingers closing around the silky fabric of her dress. "I'm glad you like it, it seemed just right for you." He took a moment to look at the small gems glittering against her skin. It was dainty yet eye catching and obviously well crafted and expensive. He knew that most of his mother's jewelry, and her mother's too, would be too bulky and flashy for Pansy, she had always been more attracted to simple pieces. Leaning in he gave her a tender kiss before reaching up and taking her hands, "Now my love I think we should go down to dinner before someone comes to find us." He kept hold of her hands all the way down to the dining room where he pulled out her chair for her and pushed it in before taking his own seat.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy's eyes remained on his the entire time that they stood there, even when his attention was momentarily distracted looking at the necklace around her neck. "It's perfect, I love it." She grinned, kissing him back and then looking up at him, nodding in agreement. "They wouldn't be pleased." Laughing, she followed him to the door and down to the dining room, her hand clasped in his. The difference this time was that they didn't let go of each others hands as they walked into the dining room, didn't have to hide the fact that they had been holding hands. She sat down and put her napkin on her lap, smiling at her mother who was busy staring down the new necklace resting on her daughter's neck. She could see out of the corner of her eye that her father was smiling, obviously pleased with how Draco had been the gentleman, moving Pansy's chair for her as he ought to. The house elves started bringing in trays as soon as Draco took his seat. The only difference with seats, was that this time, instead of Pansy sitting beside her father, who always sat at the end of the table, it was now Draco who had that seat, Pansy one seat down to Draco's side, her mother across the table from them on her father's other side. A minor change, but an important one. Taking that seat put him as a member of the family, and Pansy couldn't help smiling incredibly happily.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco nodded at Leo when he sat down and greeted Muffy. After Leo had started serving himself Draco picked up some plates and followed suit. After serving himself each dish he offered it to Pansy, making sure that she ended up with a healthy serving on her plate. As he was passing the carrots he noticed Muffy's gaze hadn't left Pansy's neck, with a slight smirk he handed Pansy the carrots and spoke, "Have you seen Pansy's new necklace? It's an heirloom from my great-great-grandmother. It was made at the same time as her ring by an old family jeweller in France." Muffy nodded and replied that the craftsmanship was incredible and she wanted to take a closer look later and finally tore her eyes from it in order to start eating.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy couldn't help but smile as her mother stared and stared at her necklace, and she nearly laughed when Draco noticed and bragged on it to please the woman's curiosity. She kept rather quiet, just eating a bit of her dinner as her parents talked and Draco threw in a word or two. Luckily the subject of her running away hadn't been brought up again, though she could tell it was driving her mother mad not being given the opportunity to really lay it out and shout everything she'd been most likely planning to yell in her head for the past month since Pansy left. Dinner was soon eaten and the bowls and trays and plates were taken away, making room for dessert. Pansy reached over and ran her hand along Draco's knee and on top of his leg, giving him a little sideways glance and a smile. When he reached down to stop her wandering fingers, she put her hand in his with a happy little look, none of which went unnoticed by her father of course.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco felt her wandering fingers and reached down to deter them. When she moved her hand to hold his he smiled, squeezing it gently under the table. Pansy had been oddly quiet all evening but his glances over to her to check on her showed that she looked happy and fine so he hadn't said anything. When the desserts were served Draco let go of her hand with one last squeeze so he could eat. Food is very important after all. During dessert he kept glancing at Pansy, smiling at her with their knees pressed together. He was completely unfocused on Leo and Muffy and until he had finished his plate had forgotten they were there.
Re: Parkinson Home
Luckily Leo and Muffy had found a conversation between the two of them, so that Pansy and Draco's distraction from anyone but each other had gone mostly unnoticed. Of course Leo noticed, he notices everything, but was enjoying a little talk with his wife, who he had been getting along with better ever since Pansy's marriage had been arranged. It seemed to pacify her and calm her down, getting rid of all the things she used to worry about before, allowing her to be more like the girl who Leo had married when he was young. Pansy grinned, holding onto his hand and only letting go because she did want to get to her dessert as well. After she was finished, her hand reached for Draco's again, her fingertips walking along his thigh until he would reach over to take her hand in his. Leo noted how good the meal was, Pansy agreed, and then Leo slid his chair back to excuse himself. He kissed Muffy on the cheek and then kissed Pansy on the head, clapping his hand onto Draco's shoulder once again. He told them to have a good night and to behave, that he would see them at breakfast in the morning.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco bid Leo goodnight and they stood up to leave as Muffy did. She gave them both kisses on the cheek and left the room. Still holding Pansy's hand they headed upstairs to find more comfy clothing for their evening adventure. When they got to their room Draco tugged on Pansy's hand and pulled her into his arms, "Fun dinner wasn't it?" He smirked and ran his hand up her back, fingers idly tracing the top of her dress. Draco was intensely relieved that her parents were completely supportive of this and that Leo wasn't giving him even half as many scary death looks as he used to. The only slightly worrying thing tomorrow was his own parents but right now he didn't want to think about that.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy let him pull her over, falling against his chest a little and looking up at him with a smile. "Oh, loads of fun." She laughed, shaking her head. "No, it actually wasn't too bad at all." Chills ran down her spine as his fingers drew lines along her back. A wide smile spread across her face and she giggled slightly, hiding her face in his chest as she snuggled into him. "Alright, time to change." She grinned up at him again, reaching to loosen his tie and pull it off and then ruffling his hair as she slipped away from him toward her closet to change.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco laughed and pulled his tie back from her, walking to his own bag to switch into a pair of comfy quidditch sweats and an old tshirt. He also took a sweatshirt in case she got cold later and pulled a blanket out of the cupboard in the bathroom. Looking in the mirror he brushed back his hair where she had mussed it and walked back out, sitting on her bed to wait for her. He remembered the first time they had been to the tower this year after their big fight, covering each other in mud and reminding themselves of better times before. That trip had been emotionally overwhelming for both of them and really now thinking about it almost all the issues they had had then were resolved now, barring the new tattoo on his arm.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy changed into an old, most likely stolen, pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. Then, after putting on a pair of socks, she ran out of her closet and flew at him, tackling him onto his back on her bed. Grinning down at him, she pecked him quickly on the lips. "Ready to go?" She took his hand and pulled him up after her, slipping on a pair of shoes and dragging him out her door. Silently and swiftly she led him through the hallways and down through the kitchen, where she froze in place. Daddy was sitting at the kitchen table, staring, smiling at them. "Late night play time in the gardens? And Pansy, those are not your pants you're wearing."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco laughed when she tackled him and kissed him and tried to follow her lips with his but she jumped up and pulled him along. He followed her down but almost slammed into her back when she stopped running. He looked where she was and his own breath caught for a second before he remembered that technically this was okay now. He nudged Pansy in the back and nodded at Leo as he pulled her past. "Yes Sir, we're headed out to do some stargazing."
Re: Parkinson Home
Leo's expression did not change as he asked Pansy to please wait outside. She nodded and continued through the kitchen, stepping into the darkness and waiting past the door. "Draco." Leo stood, his fingertips resting on the tabletop. "The two of you may be under the impression that anything goes now that your betrothal has been arranged. I remind you that this is not yet permanent. There is not yet a wedding ring on my daughter's finger, and as such, I remind you that I fully intend to keep her as pure and valuable as she is at this moment, assuming you have not already sought to entirely claim your prize and make her yours." He quirked an eyebrow, looking Draco over. He could tell that a little preview or two may have been taken, but that the two kids had certainly not done 'the deed' yet. "I'm trusting you, son. Up to the very line I have drawn for you, I do not care, but purity shall be retained until permanence is certain. If you must, touch, but do not take." With that, Leo nodded and left the room. "Draco, come on!" Pansy urged from outside when she heard her father shut the door leading to his lower floor rooms, but did not see Draco appear in the doorway yet. Woot awkward Daddy speech.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco nodded to Leo, rather glad that even if Leo poured veritaserum down his throat he could still say that Pansy was as pure and valuable as ever. It made this a whole lot less dangerous for him. Not that that speech didn't unnerve him because it did. A lot. It was just nice to know that so far everything was okay. And to be completely honest even if Leo hadn't said anything Draco didn't want to rush things, they never had between them and he doubted they ever would. Especially not now, there wasn't any point to it and after this little interlude Draco was even less tempted than before. Leo should know though that Draco isn't pushing for Pansy's sake not Leo's. Not that Draco would tell him that.
Re: Parkinson Home
Good plan not telling him that. He likes to believe that Draco still lives in utter fear of him and the horny teenager is roped in because he warns him, not because he's actually being a gentleman to his daughter. Pansy jumps out of the shadows and wraps herself around Draco as he emerges, kissing him again before grasping his hand and pulling him along. They're at the tower in no time and Pansy slips inside, looking around with a wide smile. She glances, up, looking over the stars. Finally choosing a spot, she sits and tugs on Draco's hand to make him join her there on the ground. Flopping onto her back, she tugs Draco down with her, and curls up along his side, resting her cheek on his shoulder with a fully happy sigh. "This just feels right, being in here together again. Only difference is we didn't exactly sneak out this time, and Daddy sort of gave you permission for whatever, instead of a death stare for even breathing on me."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco was almost a little glad that Leo had said his piece because at least it was all done now and hopefully wouldn't ever be mentioned again. When they got to the tower he gave her the blanket and let her find a nice spot and laughed when they were all curled up, "You heard all that then? I have to say he was a lot nicer than I was expecting, I was half expecting him to send us to separate rooms or something, he's always been scarily possessive of you." He moved his fingers to the tips of her hair, twirling them a little as he looked up at the sky. She was right, it did feel like everything was settling perfectly into place with them out here together again.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy smirked, rolling onto her stomach so she could look at him. "Yeah, I heard. I think he might have thought we were coming out here, to, well you know, do it. Considering we were just in my room and they could hear us there, and I am wearing your pants after all." She laughed, resting her chin on his chest. "Most signs point to it, and the blanket in your arms and the news of our arrangement must have just made it seem that much more certain. Of course he doesn't realize that wasn't our plan though. Besides we've been good." She smiled, moving onto her back again and looking at the stars, tracing out the constellations with her eyes. "Well, except in the sauna." She traced her hand over his stomach, along the lines of his abs. "And the Room of Requirement... Oops? It was sort of nice though, to be honest."
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco chuckled and ran his hand over her side, "We have been very good really. I mean how long have we been together now? Over six months even including periods when we werent talking to each other." He looked up at the sky with her, moving his free hand over to cover hers on his stomach, slipping his fingers around hers. "As long as you're with me I dont think your father really has anything to worry or complain about." Any other guy would have been pushing her for months now and honestly Draco would probably have been pushing if he was with any other girl. It wasn't that he didn't find Pansy attractive but that he would do whatever it took to keep her with him, even if that meant waiting until they got married.
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy laughed too, looking over at him. "Yeah. Quite a while. Longer than that though, hasn't it been? I don't remember. Too many fights in the start, I don't know when to count as the real beginning." She sighed softly and put her fingers between his, watching how their hands fit together before she looked back up at the sky, yanking a corner of the blanket over her. She smiled as he said her father didn't need to worry, and she felt it was true. She felt completely safe with Draco. She felt as though he would protect her and would never try and make her do something she didn't want to. He'd always come find her if she was missing, and had always done what he could to cheer her up if she was sad. Pansy couldn't count the ways in which she felt so very lucky. "Beautiful, isn't it?" Of course she meant the sky, but she felt that the relationship was beautiful too. It felt rare to have something like this, especially given their age, their situations, their families. Everything.
Re: Parkinson Home
Draco smiled, leaning his head against hers, "It is." He wasn't sure exactly what she was talking about but if she asked him he would say this whole moment. He knew that the ideal romantic moment would normally involve dressing up and a candlelit dinner in a fancy restaurant but for them that seemed almost average with the way they had grown up and small intimate moments like this meant so much more. After a period of quiet he focused on looking up at the stars, "Is that Leo up there?"
Re: Parkinson Home
Pansy's eyes widened in a moment of panic, looking around quickly for a silhouette on the edge of the tower wall above them, wondering how in hell her father would climb up there, and why he would sit up there to watch them in the first place. "What?!" A moment later, however, she realized her stupidity. "Oh..." she muttered, embarrassed. She turned her eyes to the stars once again, looking them over. "Yeah, right up there just along the tower wall?" She pointed down low in the sky. "There's the big bear beside it, bright tonight. Ursa major." The big dipper part of it was easiest to make out, but Pansy had no problem also locating the additional associated stars that formed the head and feet of the big bear. Her heart calmed from her momentary panic and she settled into Draco's side again, not having realized until then that she had gone tense and scooted slightly away from him with fright.
