Re: The Fireplace
[Who's going to tell Pansy about Snaco? Because I think Draco will jump off the Astronomy Tower if he and Pansy have to do the whole 'talk' and stop being friends AGAIN.]

Re: The Fireplace
Severus opened his eyes and looked at Pansy, eternally grateful for her friendship. "So stupid. Why did I ever join that stupid game? Right, because I WAS DRUNK! I AM ALWAYS DOING THE STUPIDEST FUCKING SHIT WHEN I'M FUCKING DRUNK! AND IT ALWAYS ENDS BADLY, ALWAYS!" he yelled, chucking a random textbook beside him at the wall and narrowly missing a small girl.

Re: The Fireplace
[I think Pansy would be jumping right behind you.]
Pansy didn't even blink as the book was thrown, making hard contact with the wall followed by the shriek of a girl. "What game, what're you talking about?" She always had to take his coded sentences and make him drag them out. He seemed to forget that she didn't always know everything he knew, especially when he was upset.

Severus sighed and tried to calm down. "Stupid girl. Lovegood, I think she said her name was. I was drunk. She convinced me to play spin the bottle. SOMETHING I WOULD NEVER PLAY IN MY RIGHT MIND! And you know who I got? REMUS. IN FRONT OF HERMIONE. And shit just went downhill from there," he said, curling into a little ball on the chair and looking rather forlorn.

Re: The Fireplace
"Aw, Sev." Pansy didn't have to be told much more now, she could guess for herself essentially what had gone down if Hermione was there to witness Severus kissing Remus, even if it was a game. Bitch was over-jealous, couldn't control herself. Pansy figured it was just lack of self-confidence, knowledge that everything she's got, she's damn lucky to have and can easily lose. She put her hand on his shoulder, slender fingers squeezing his bony shoulder in an attempt to comfort him a little. "Why were you sloshed hanging out with Gryffindors and Ravenclaws anyway?"
Re: The Fireplace
Severus paled at the question. Why? Because he'd just told Lily about sleeping with Draco, and he hated himself for it. Because Lily had chosen to waste her time with James, to get hurt, instead of seeing him for what he was. Because his head hurt and his heart ached and because getting drunk was about the only way he knew how to deal. "I was upset. Got drunk," he said, his voice shaking. "I'd just spoken to Lily. I can't look at her anymore, I flinch at her touch, and I can't even help it."
[Severus never told Pansy about Evotter. Now would be a good time to ask.]

Re: The Fireplace
Lily... but Severus loved Lily. He could never get enough of her. This didn't make sense. "I thought... I thought you and Lily were friends... what happened?" If he had lost Lily, she knew she'd have to be around even more for him. She couldn't leave him to his own devices, because honestly, she knew Lily was the only one keeping him alive sometimes.
Re: The Fireplace
Severus choked back another sob, realizing that Pansy didn't know. "James happened," was all he managed to mumble out.

Re: The Fireplace
"Oh." That arrogant toe rag had been after Lily for ages. I guess she finally gave in to him, then. Though there was something about him, someth- No. This is not helping. Never one to be good at comforting people, all she could do was be here for him, hope that her presence would offer him some kind of comfort, even if she wasn't sure what. Maybe just knowing that she was here, that she'd always be his friend, would be enough. It was all she could do. She propped her arm up on the chair and rested her cheek on the back of her hand, rubbing his shoulder with her other hand and wishing he wasn't so upset.
Re: The Fireplace
[Sorry. Got distracted. Arguing about a webcomic. Yeah, I'm that much of a loser.]
Severus was glad he had Pansy. She didn't need to say anything- that he had someone who would sit by him like this was more than he could ever ask for. "Told her I'd still be her friend. That made her happy," he said, remembering her smile. He knew she wouldn't be smiling like that if she kept with James- he knew what he was like, what he was capable of. "Thank you. For being a real friend to me," he mumbled.

Re: The Fireplace
[Bahaha, I love you.]
Pansy's heart ached for her friend. She understood the feelings he had, it would be as if Draco had left to be with Hermione forever. She wouldn't be able to take that. Severus was stronger than many gave him credit for. "Of course. I'm always here for you, just like I know you are for me."

Re: The Fireplace
Severus felt that horrible sensation of guilt again, and he stood up quickly. No, I can't do this, how can I use her like this, use her when I need her, when I've done her wrong? This isn't right. "I... I need to go. Be alone," he said, heading up the stairs to his dormitory, too ashamed to look back at her.

Re: The Fireplace
"Alright," Pansy mumbled as he hurried off to the boys dorms. She figured he just wanted to get out of the common room, considering the fourth year snickering in the corner. She shot him a nasty look before climbing up into the chair and leaning back comfortably, staring into the fire.
[Just so you know, the guilt stabs aren't stopping. Because they're fun. ]

Re: The Fireplace
[Draco's not even in the Slytherin area right now. XD Let me send him through.]
Draco rushed into the common room and raced to the dormitory. He didn't even take the time to glance around and see who was in the common room, he just needed to get to the dormitory and talk to Severus.

[Good. He deserves it. Although if you keep guilting him he might crack at some point and tell you and then go kill himself or something.]

Re: The Fireplace
Pansy pulled out a book she'd found in the library with some stories muggles liked to call 'fiction' in it. She zoned out, becoming absorbed in the story.
[I need to go take a shower so I'm not greasy like Sevvy, but I'll be back ASAP. Give me like. 10 minutes. ish. Don't die while I'm gone. *tear*]

Re: The Fireplace
[Well, the A.T. just ended. Good timing.]
Draco walked into the common room, his hair still damp from the experience at the Astronomy Tower. He hadn't taken the time to dry his clothes and was dripping wet. He shivered and wrapped the only dry article of clothing - his jacket - around him. It was dampening as he looked around for Pansy. He still didn't know what he was going to say.

Re: The Fireplace
Pansy looked up from her book as she heard someone come into the common room. When she realized it was Draco, and that he was soaked, she shut her book with her finger inside marking the page. Only one question popped up in her mind, despite the fact that he looked beyond distraught for some reason she hadn't a clue about. "Draco... why're you all wet?"
Re: The Fireplace
"It's - um - a long story..." Draco lied. He didn't know how to explain everything. He racked his brain for a way to express it without being too blunt. You couldn't just blurt out and say, I tried to kill myself. That wasn't a good way to put it at all, "I tried jumping off the Astronomy Tower. Well, I - I wanted to, but I didn't," His words were scrambled as he trembled, "I - I don't know..."

Re: The Fireplace
Pansy blinked at him before tossing her book aside and jumping up out of the chair. "You, wh- " She crossed the room in a few long steps, "What did you -" and her fingers clutched onto the fabric of the sleeves of his jacket. She was unable to form a coherent sentence, in disbelief at what she thought she'd just heard come out of his mouth. Her eyes darted back and forth for a moment, trying to sort it out in her head as she stared at his coat and soaking shirt. She glanced up into his eyes, finally gathering herself enough to speak. "Why... why would you-?" Her voice shook more than it normally would, and her fingers trembled on his sleeves. She was beyond confused.
