"Exactly," he crooned, smiling as he took another spoonful of ice cream, holding the silverware in his hand without eating it. "And you'd be right in assuming I have quite a few riveting tales for you. Here, I think this will fit nicely into the flirting category which I forgot to add to our list of things to do," he informed her as he offered the spoon out to Milli for her to take a bite.

Milli eyed the ice cream that he didn't seem to be eating, and smiled as he offered it to her. She ate it slowly, letting the cool dessert take its time melting in her mouth. "Cute displays of affection always have benefits," she said, licking her lips. "So let's hear some of those riveting stories. I'll make sure I give appropriate reactions."

Jesse smiled, his eyes flickering to her lips for the briefest moment before returning his gaze to meet her eyes. "Hmm. The thing is, there are so many stories I could tell you, I wouldn't know where to start. So here's what we're going to do; you're going to ask me questions about my life, and I'm going to adequately answer each and every one with an honest reply."

"Hmm," she hummed thoughtfully. Milli tapped her chin while she tried to think of a good question. "Well if you're going to answer completely honestly, I should have fun with this." Her eyes widened wickedly and she fired off, "Most embarrassing moment. Go."

Jesse's jaw fell open as he looked at Milli in shock. "Wha...? Can I...Can I just change my mind and tell you those riveting stories now?" he asked with a soft, joking laugh. Even though he didn't want to tell an embarassing story, he was secretly hoping that she wouldn't let him change his mind. He liked a girl who didn't back down.

Milli has never been one to give up easily. Especially since there was the potential of a really good story. "No way," Milli said, shaking her head. "You said you'd answer every single one of my questions honestly, and my question is: What has been the most embarrassing moment of your life so far? Or are you just to chicken to answer?" she challenged, grinning mischievously.

Jesse just smirked in reply and without another moment of hesitation, he replied with, "When I first came to Hogwarts, I thought I was all that and I challenged someone in second year to a duel. I'd been reading up on all the spells the summer I got my letter, and I thought it'd be a piece of cake. I ended up losing horribly in front of everyone, and was forced to wear a charm on my forehead that read 'loser.'" He tilted his head to the side and interlaced his fingers as he set his hands on the table. "Until two weeks later when I dueled him again, and beat him without any problem at all." He smiled. He couldn't tell a story without adding one of his success stories in the end. He was a lot of things, but a failure was not one of them. "Next question."

Milli stifled a giggle as Jesse told his story. It was a funny mental image, a mini Jesse St. James walking around with a little loser sign on his forehead. She remembered she was supposed to 'find his stories touching' to 'make the waitress jealous,' so she put on an over-exaggerated pout and crooned, "You poor thing." She rolled her eyes playfully as he tacked his revenge tale to the end. "I congratulate you on your spectacular win, then. Oh, next question?" Milli paused and flipped her hair so it was not in her face. "Ok how about...a hidden talent of yours?"

He smiled, amused with her playful acting. "Don't have any," he replied without taking a moment to think over his answer. "I believe...that if you have a talent you shouldn't hide it. I like showing off what I can do, so I'm not going to be a closeted musician or hide the fact that I'm an artist-- Not that I can do either of those things, but you know what I mean. I don't hide my talents from anyone. If I'm good at something, I want everyone to know about it."

Milli nodded, intrigued. "That's an interesting way of looking at things," she said sincerely. "I agree. No reason to downplay your talents. Usually it makes you look pretentious anyway. So there is no use," she reasoned, shrugging. "And it's rather refreshing knowing someone who will be open. At least I'll never have to worry about you lying to me, huh?"

Jesse grinned, though he made no comment about not lying. It happened on occasion, but he tried not to make a habit of it. "Hm. I wouldn't say that. I do like to keep people on their toes, after all." He smirked and took one last small bite of ice cream before setting his spoon down in the bowl. "Next question."

"You're being honest now," Milli pointed out. "Or are you?" she said suspiciously. She tried to keep a straight face but ended up busting out laughing. "I'm sorry. Sometimes I try to be funny and it backfires, which only makes it funny." After a second, she said, "That didn't make any sense, and I'm making a total fool of myself right now." Milli smiled apologetically and ran her fingers through her hair. "Uh...biggest dream?" she asked finally.

Jesse didn't laugh, but he did look amusing, smiling at Milli as she laughed at her own joke. "It made perfect sense, and I think you're plenty funny. Honestly, I think I laughed at least two times since I met you and I don't do that often." He watched the way her hair easily slipped through her fingers. Jesse always was the observant type. "Biggest dream? I want to work for the ministry. But no desk job for me. I want to be out there actually doing something and putting my magic to good use. I won't spend seven years here practicing spells for nothing, after all."

"Don't I feel special?" she said. "You should laugh more often. You have a nice laugh," Milli said without thinking, but when she realised what she just spoke, she didn't feel embarrassed in the slightest. Nothing wrong with being upfront about what you're thinking. Milli tilted her head as Jesse began talking about his biggest dream. He was so much more focused than anyone their age, and not only was it refreshing but it was kinda hot as well. "It's nice that you know what you want out of life," she said sincerely. "And that sounds sensible. Why waste a perfectly good education, right?"

Jesse looked rather shocked at her comment. People had told him that he was sexy, smart, funny...But what Milli had just told him was actually a genuine compliment. He looked down at the table, unsure of how to respond and settling on just not saying anything, though there was a second where he smiled a real sincere smile at Milli. "I think...it's my turn to ask the questions now."

Milli seemed worried as Jesse had suddenly looked down at the table. Had she done something wrong? She fretted for a second, wondering what she might have done to offend him, and then he smiled at her and she grinned in relief. Milli smirked when he said it was her turn to be interviewed, and she folded her hands and placed them on the table. Leaning forward, she said, "Bring it."

Jesse leaned forward again as he crossed his arms in front of him and set them on the table. "Plans for after Hogwarts?" he asked, genuinely curious. He's used to being with ditzy girls who don't know what they want to do, but he was hoping that Milli would surprise him by being different, just like she had been since the other night in the library.

"I want to go into Magical Law Enforcement," she responded immediately. "There's just something really appealing about capturing and interrogating the bad guys. Must be that adventurous spirit of mine," Milli said with a small laugh.

"Oh?" He couldn't help but look impressed. Not only did she have goals, but she also had unique goals. "Well, I like a girl with a bit of adventure in her. I could easily see you in Magical Law Enforcement." And he didn't mind the mental image of her in one of the uniforms either. Hawt.

Jesse took a moment as he watched Milli's face while she played with the spoon in her hand. Normally, he could put girls into a certain category within minutes, but not Milli...She was different and he couldn't figure out what it was about her, but he knew that he liked it, which sort of scared him but he shrugged it off. "What do you do for fun? You know, when you're not cheering or being a smart cheerleader."

Milli's eyes searched Jesse's as he waited a moment to ask his next question. What was he thinking? And why was he looking at her like that? Did she have ice cream on her face? Her hand quickly swiped at the corner of her lip. No, nothing there. Well, whatever the reason, it made Milli feel kind of tingly inside and she wasn't quite sure she knew why. Suddenly she realised she had been asked a question and scrambled to answer. "Uh, hanging out with my friends, curling up with a good book, practising magic, and being outdoors. I'm really such an outdoors person. I hate being inside if I can help it."

Jesse listened intently as Mille spoke, smiling as she said she enjoyed practicing magic. One of the things he enjoyed most about her presence was that she was just so completely comfortable with being herself. "What? No long walks on the beach? Romantic novels? Sitting by the fireplace on a rainy day?" he asked teasingly.

"I can take long walks on the beach if someone gets brutally splashed," Milli said in a joking tone, but really she was completely serious. What was the fun in just walking when you could get someone soaked? She made a face at the mention of romance novels. "I could never read romance novels that didn't have a little something else in there. Otherwise I'd fall asleep. And as for the rainy day, I'd be the one getting sick out from jumping the puddles."

"Milli Vane, you are definitely the most interesting girl I've ever met," he said with a grin. "Maybe next time I'll take you on a date without having alterior motives to make a certain waitress jealous," he teased. "I'll keep that in mind though. Next time I'll be sure to not buy you a romance novel, and if we ever go to the beach I'll splash you before you get a chance to get me wet first."
