Reed blushed. "Well thanks. And you may not think so, but you're pretty sweet yourself. Enough about my love life though. What about you, anyone caught your eye yet?" He tried to waggle his eyebrows, but looked ridiculous trying to do so.

"Not here, there hasn't." Jenna fidgeted a little in her seat and looked around, almost as if scanning the crowd, looking for someone or something.

"Not here? Has there ever been anyone? It's okay if there hasn't, I'm just curious. And don't worry, there's still a ton of people you haven't met yet at Hogwarts. There are some really nice people mixed in with all the jerks." Reed nodded seriously.

"There has been, and there is but, I don't know if it was mutual, and I guess I won't really ever get the chance to find out. I went to muggle school with him and I haven't seen him in a few months, we used to run into each other all the time but we don't anymore."

Reed frowned. "I'm sorry to hear that. I'd say write to him, but people in the muggle world don't really do that anymore. If only cell phones worked here you'd be able to talk to him. And summer is coming up! Maybe you'll be able to see him then?"

"Maybe, I hope so, but even if I do, I don't know if I'd be able to work up the nerve to tell him that I want to be more than friends. If he doesn't see me that way, I'll have completely exposed myself for nothing. And what if other people find out? I'd never hear the end of it."

"Well, how do you know he doesn't see you like that. Maybe he feels the same way but is also too afraid to say anything. The only way you'll ever be able to know how someone is feeling is to ask them. And so what if it's embarrassing, it's better than regretting not finding out the truth, right?"

"I guess so... I've never really been the confident type (Quidditch aside) and I really don't know what I'm supposed to say, just 'Hey, Tim, just letting you know I've had this huge, secret crush on you for the past two years and I want to know if you like me too' Because that doesn't sound weird at all (note my heavy sarcasm there)"

Reed laughed. "Well, if it weren't so sarcastic then yeah ,something along those lines would work fine. Just wait until you're hanging out alone and just say 'Hey, I don't want to make things weird, but I just want to let you know that I have a crush on you.' or something like that. I don't know, I'm not very good at the romantic stuff."

"Maybe I'll ask Kras when we get back, he might know what to say. He seems more into the whole romantic thing than you, maybe he'll have some good ideas."

Reed nods. "You're right, he's very good at the romantic things. He'll be able to help. He's sort of new to the whole relationship thing too, but he's pretty darn good at it."

"Well you kind of have to say that, since he is your boyfriend after all. Maybe I'll decide to give him the official title of 'Jenna's-relationship-crisis-go-to-buddy-that-doesn't-judge-her-for-being-a-wimp-on-occaision'" Jenna laughed at the insane title.

Reed giggled. "Perfect title! I think he'll like it, although I don't think you're a whimp. It's hard to tell someone how you feel. I was so nervous when I told Kras how I felt, but look where that got us." He smiled all dopey again.

"Oh Merlin, you make me sad, and warm and fuzzy all at the same time. I wish I could suck it up and tell Tim how I feel but, this time, it's not something I can tell off, or stand up to. I need something solid, and there to be brave about it, I can't fight my own mind, it'll be the death of me."

Reed gave Jenna a little smile. "It's okay. You'll figure it out. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies, but we're still young and have a while to figure everything out."

"I guess you have a point. When did you get all philosophical on me? You might as well transfer to Ravenclaw and call it a day!" Jenna grinned, happy to see her friend take on a new air of purpose. Even if that purpose was only getting her to tell her crush that she liked him as more than a friend.

Reed laughed. "I think it comes from me dad. He's always been extremely level headed and is always spewing out these words of wisdom at me when I'd get overworked about something. Guess it rubbed off a little."

"Ha! My dad is the same way, though those are mostly quotes from various famous Quidditch players that he idolized as a child." Jenna smiled and leaned back, basking in the warmth that came from the fireplace and the warmth that came from the inside from being with her best friend/brother.

Reed giggled and finished off his butterbeer finally. "So sis, we gonna just hang here all day, or did you want to go somewhere else? I'm cool with whatever."

"I say we go to Honeydukes and buy out the whole entire store. Besides, I'm finished with my butterbeer anyway." Jenna grinned at the prospect of all of the chocolate that would soon be in her possesion.

Reed smiled. "Okay, I'll buy you the entire store, since I already bought half the store last time I was there. I still have yet to make a dent in all that candy. Totally worth it though. I'll probably have all that candy until I leave Hogwarts." He nodded and carefully stood up, not wanting to fall again.

Jenna saw Reed wobbling, about to fall and reached out to grab his elbow just in time. "Thanks, but you really don't have to buy me all of that candy, I have quite the sweet tooth and I could never let you pay."

Reed threw her a gratefully smiled and held out his arm to guide her out of the pub. "Please. You'll soon learn that there is nothing I like more than spoiling my friends. I get free clothes and I have a ridiculous allowance, so what else am I suppose to spend my money on?"

Jenna cocked her head to one side, "I guess there's no dissuading you?" She asked, not quite sure what she wanted as a reply.

Reed grinned a little mischievously. "Nope. Let's go." Then he lead the way out and headed straight for the brightly colored sweets shop just down the road.
