"Vot?" Kras is confused. "Vell..I did vave and smile back so I guess the vere just being friendly." *facepalm* Kras watches as Reed applies more sunblock, finding himself really wishing he could help. And then he sees a tiny spot of the stuff left on Reed's shoulder and he can't resist reaching over to rub at it. "Missed a spot." he chuckles.

Reed rolls his eyes at how ridiculous his boyfriend is. "Do you really not see how attractive you are?" He started giggling then promptly froze when Kras started rubbing the sunblock on his shoulder. That weird tingly feeling went through him again, what the hell was that? Reed looked over, blushing of course, and smiled at Kras. "Uhhh. Thanks. C-Can you maybe..." He trailed off, biting his lip. "Can you maybe get my back for me?" He held out the tube of sunscreen, and his hand started to shake for some reason.

Kras reached out and placed a hand on the tube of sunscreen, noticing, but not commenting, on the fact that Reed's hand was shaking slightly. He sort of figured Reed was just either still a little cold or he was possibly a tiny bit nervous at having Kras rub lotion on his back. Well, Kras really didn't want to give up this chance and he really didn't want Reed to get sunburned on his back. "Of course I vill." He took the sunscreen and spun a finger around. "Turn around." he grinned. He waited until Reed had done so before moving so he was sitting behind Reed, rubbing sunblock gently on his back. It felt...really good to rub lotion over Reed's back and he massaged the sunblock in gently so Reed would feel comfortable as well.

Reed made an odd squeak noise when Kras told him to turn around. He did as he was told, and it felt like his entire body was blushing. Reed bit his lip as that tingly feeling returned. Weird, it seemed to be growing from somewhere in the bottom of his stomach. It wasn't unpleasant, but it was something Reed had never felt before. Then a weird humming escaped his lips as Kras rubbed his shoulders and back. He completely forgot how to speak.

Kras grins as he hears a soft humming escape Reed's lips. It was adorable and...it was causing a weird fluttery feeling in his stomach. Not the usual fluttery feeling he got when he was around Reed, it was more like...more like that feeling he'd gotten that time when he was with Sirius in that classroom...ohdeardeadfishandpuppies. Ew, that was a disturbing image and it...well, took care of any impending, er, situations. Kras sighed lightly and leaned forward, kissing the soft, smooth skin of Reed's shoulder softly. "All finished, love."

Reed literally jumped to his feet when Kras kissed his shoulder. The tingly feeling was starting to make him feel a little weird in a part of his body that he was too embarrassed to even think about. He then realized he needed to explain his sudden weirdness, and sort of had a little panic attack. Reed slowly turned to face his boyfriend. "Oh. Thanks..for uh, doing that for me. And I just felt like, um, standing. Yes. That's it. Standing. Yup." His whole face blushed all the way to his roots.

Kras blinked in surprise when Reed suddenly jumped up. "Oh?" His own face was turning lightly reddish and he was glad that disturbing image he'd thought up had taken care of any awkward situations. "Standing is fun. Do you think ve should head back inside soon?" He was wondering what exactly was going on in his boyfriend's head right now, but he wasn't going to badger him about it if it was something personal. Maybe he was just uncomfortable with Kras kissing his shoulder? Well...hopefully not, that thought was sort of saddening. "I'd love to vatch you vork for a bit." He smiled brightly, standing as well, holding Reed's shirt out to him.

Reed cleared his throat and nodded. "Yeah. That works. Guess I didn't really need to use up all that sunscreen." He laughed nervously. What the hell was wrong with him. He rolled his eyes at himself and grabbed his damp shirt back. "Yeah, we should probably change out of our wet clothes." Then there's an image of Kras changing out of his we close that suddenly invades Reed's mind. He literally slapped his cheek, then blushed when he realized, HEY YOUR BOYFRIEND IS STILL STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. "Uhhhhh. There was a bug..Got it."

Kras gives Reed an odd, confused look. "Are you alright? You know if there's something bothering you you're velcome to talk to me about it." He brushed a bit of drying hair away from Reed's eyes. "And I do vorry about you catching a cold from staying in vet clothing too long, so ve probably should head back inside to change now."

[*flops about* I'm going to have to head to sleepyland... Kras is protesting against me taking my meds anymore cause he doesn't like having to go to bed early and leave Reed so soon. *pokes him* LOVE YOU!!!!!]

The weather was certainly lovely out as Remus and Hermione made their way down to walk by the lake. A lot of other people seemed to have the same idea they had, but, luckily, there were less people near this spot than other parts of the lakeside. Remus had never been a huge conversationalist - well, unless it came to books or studies - so he wasn't entirely sure what to talk about with the pretty girl that walked next to him, but he was enjoying the fact that the silence between them at the moment wasn't awkward. It was comfortable. *cue Hermy whenever she's on*

Hermione breathes deeply, drawing the fresh air into her lungs and enjoying the warmth of the sun on her skin as she walks in companionable silence with Remus. She's glad he chooses a less crowded area of the lake to walk; she likes to avoid big crowds really. "So..." she casts about for something to say. "What's your family like? I heard a rumour that you and Dean Thomas were related, is that true?"

"My family?" Remus blinks then smiles when she mentions Dean. "Yeah, Dean and I aren't blood related but we're brothers. His dad and my mom got married back when we were younger." It was shortly after he had been bitten by that werewolf, actually. "Are you friends with Dean? I haven't gotten to talk to him a lot lately which sort of sucks. He's the best brother I could ever ask for. I'd trust him with my life and he's always there for me." he smiles fondly, just thinking about his brother for a bit. "My mom is nice too. She gets really annoying though if we forget to write home at least twice a week. Threatens to send Howlers even." he laughs, rolling his eyes. "And my step dad is nice too. He makes my mom happy and he's always been very supporting and accepting of me since he- er," Crap, there he was just letting his mouth run on and on without even thinking. "well, you know, I suppose it can be sort of hard sometimes raising a kid that isn't technically yours...especially one that spent most of his childhood shut up in his room reading every book he could get his hands on and showed no interest in hanging out with other kids or playing sports." He shrugged, watching the ground ahead of him. "Either way...we all get along really well and sometimes we even go on family vacations in the summer. Like camping and stuff. Oh dear...I just kept on talking didn't I?" His face went quaffley. "How about you? What's your family like?"

Hermione smiles as she listens, finding herself hanging on every word because she does want to know all about Remus. She falters then, remembering the foul looks Dean had shot her after she'd broken Luna's heart and pushes her hair behind her shoulders, giving herself a moment to regroup. "Dean and I have known each other for quite a while," she says lightly. "Your family sounds very happy with each other, really. And why wouldn't your step dad be accepting of you? You're a wonderful person and anyone would be lucky to have you as a son," she says earnestly. She walks in silence for a few long seconds, gathering her own thoughts about her family. "Well, erm, there's only myself and my parents at home, really. They're dentists. They're lovely and I love them very much. But I... nevermind," she shakes her head, what she had been considering saying sounds stupid even in her mind.

Remus just shrugs at her question about his step dad, not wanting to actually answer that question. He smiles at her compliment, even though he hardly believes it himself. Sometimes, when things were really tough, he even questioned why his parents still wanted him. After all, it couldn't be easy having a monster for a son no matter how much of a good person he tried to be. "Dentists...that must be why you have such pretty teeth...er, that sounded weird. Sorry." He looks away awkwardly. "What were you going to say? You can't really start a sentence and then stop right off the bat like that. You'll leave everyone curious." He commented, shooting her a lightly teasing smile and still trying to smooth over the awkward fact that he had commented on her teeth. Her teeth. Why would he do that? It wasn't like he stared at them a lot...he may have just noticed it in passing while trying to catch a glimpse of her pretty hair again. Still...he was really trying to figure out why she didn't think he was, like, one of the weirdest people ever.

Hermione laughs. She thinks Remus is funny. "That must be why - they're quite particular about dental care." She decides not to mention how she actually used to have ridiculously oversized front teeth until a little spell damage gave her the opportunity to clear that little problem up. She sighs, shoots a smile at Remus, and does her best to explain. "I love my parents, but it's like they don't quite understand or really approve of my being magical. They're proud, and always pleased that I do so well and top the class, which is lovely. But they're... conservative, I suppose is the best word for it. And I think there's a part of them that hopes I'll just finish my time here at Hogwarts and think of it as lovely fun, then put my wand in a drawer and go on to a muggle university to become a professional like them," she shrugs. "I don't think they understand that I can't stop being a witch."

Remus feels slightly better when Hermione jokes about the teeth comment rather than give him an odd look. He quietly listens to her as she explains about her parents then. "Oh...I can see how that would be difficult to handle. But...if you talk to them about it they'd understand, right? I mean, everyone's different and, though I'm sure you'd make a brilliant dentist cause you are really smart, not everyone is cut out to do the same thing, nor want to do the same thing, that their parents are doing. Oh I hope I'm making sense." He's probably talking nonsense again. "Either way...you have your own dreams and your parents should kind of be supportive of them whether magic is involved or not. That's what I think anyway. Sorry I'm probably not being much help." he shrugged, pausing to crouch down and tie his shoelace that had for some reason come undone. There was a group of birds it sounded like, off in the woods around another side of the lake rather far away from them, that was making quite a bit of racket. He winced slightly cause it was making his ears hurt. Sometimes his sensitive hearing was handy, but other times it was just annoying.

Hermione shakes her head. "No, you're making sense. It's really nice just to have someone listen, really. I wish I could explain to them, make them understand that I can't change who I am just because it doesn't fit in with their idea of a nice, proper life." She pauses a moment, remembering how terrified she'd been when Gideon Prewett had walked in on she and Luna, how she couldn't help but think that if her parents found out she was not only a witch but liked girls too, they'd never accept her, or try and force her to leave Hogwarts or some such horrible thing. "Well, it's not going to hold me back, I'm going to live my own life regardless, but I do wish it could be easier sometimes." She waits for Remus as he ties his shoelace, wondering at the pained expression that crosses his face. Of course, she can't hear a thing out of the ordinary. "Are you alright? You look troubled by something."

"Sometimes I think parents are just scared to listen or think different because they have their own set opinion on how they'd like their child's life to go and it's scary to see them go off on their own and do their own thing because it might be away from where they can protect them. Or something like that, ack, sorry, it's just...those birds are really loud and it's bugging me. Er..." he freezes, realizing his error suddenly. Hermione probably can barely hear the racket those birds are making. Probably anyone else, if they were standing next to him, wouldn't be able to either. Crap. "they were...not anymore...it's nothing. Nothing really. Maybe I was just imagine it?" the fact that he's asking that like a question doesn't help his case at all. Ah well.

"I think you must be right," Hermione agrees, while Mya gives a giant 'AMEN TO THAT'. She gives Remus a searching look as he complains about the birds being the source of his troubles because if Hermione really strains her ears and concentrates, she can only just hear the distant chirping. "I can barely hear anything. Your hearing must be exceptional." Too good, she thinks, more pieces of the puzzle falling into place.

"Er...something like that." Remus replies lightly. He falls silent for a bit, not entirely sure what to say now. Some kids further on down the side of the lake are playing in the shallower areas which kind of looks like fun, except the water's probably cold and Remus doesn't really like the cold as much. Warmer water, warmer temperatures in general, are much more preferred.

"Hmm," Hermione says, the cogs turning in her mind not at all put off by his terrible attempt at a vague dismissal of the subject. She watches Remus looking at the people playing in the shallows of the lake for a moment. "Do you like to swim? I'm not much of a swimmer, although one time in fourth year I did spend an hour chained to the bottom of the lake. I was in an enchanted sleep, naturally."

Remus blinks when Hermione tells him about her experience in fourth year. "You what? That's kind of scary to think about...I mean, even being in an enchanted sleep. Oh my. That was for the Triwizard Tournament, wasn't? I think I heard about people being in the lake...I mean, I kind of skipped out on watching most of that...big crowds, you know. Not really my thing. Too loud. Much too loud." He winced just thinking about it. And Amethyst is just coming up with all that anyway since they're in the same year and all he'd have to have known about that tournament then. Ack..mixing generations can get sort of confusing sometimes. Haha. "I kind of like swimming but...I've only really gone swimming with my friends over the summer." Remus didn't like swimming around a lot of people he didn't know as well mostly because people gave him odd looks for swimming with a shirt on and...well, around Sirius, James, and Peter he didn't have to worry about wearing a shirt while swimming to cover all his scars.

"Yes, the Triwizard Tournament," Hermione says, a fond, sad smile gracing her features at the memory. "I watches the whole thing, of course, like I always go to the quidditch matches when Gryffindor plays, because I like to watch my friend Harry. But I could always certainly do without the crowds after a while. It's not that I don't enjoy the excitement and the atmosphere, it just gets a little much, d'you know?" she tries to explain. She does not mention that her aversion to swimming often has more to do with the wearing of revealing swimwear than anything else, and gives Remus a slightly curious look. "Well if you enjoy it, you should do it more often, maybe."
