Meela came by the lake and sat down tired, she sighed and watched the waters of the lake. She wondered why her parents had not sent a reply to the letter she'd written to them, she thought, "Lovely isnt it Meela? Now your father's gonna be real angry at you for being a Ravenclaw, well atleast your Mom's not gonna be angry"

"Desk jobs are pretty boring," Luna agreed. Her dad technically had a desk job since he was a writer, but he really spent most of his time outside exploring and discovering new things to write about. "I want a job where I'm outside a lot, with nature and animals." She noticed a new girl walking new them, and waved at her, figuring it'd be friendly.

Meela noticed a girl waving to her, she waved back at her smiling, she said, "Hi, I'm... um....Meela Travers.... And you?"

Dean nodded in agreement. "Yes, I want to be able to be outside as much as possible." Then he looked to where Luna was waving and smiled at the girl. "Hi Meela, I'm Dean. Dean Thomas. This is Luna Lovegood. You're welcome to join us if you'd like. Wouldn't want you to have to sit all alone." He smiled again and looked to Luna, hoping it was okay for him to invite someone to join them, but figuring it was okay since they were just chilling.

Meela nodded and said, "Thanx, well I dont know many people here" as she walked towards them. She sat down next to Dean and Luna, and smiled. She said, "I.... um wasnt expecting you would notice me actually," and laughed nervously.

"I notice a lot of things that usually go unnoticed," Luna replied with a bright smile. She had never seen Meela around before, but she noticed the blue on her robes, showing that the girl was in Ravenclaw as well. "You're in the same house as me? Funny we've never seen each other before."

Dean smiled warmly at Luna, because she was just amazing. "I find the best place to meet someone is by the lake." Then he sat back a little so he could let the two Ravenclaws chat about whatever Ravenclaws talked about. As long as he was near Luna, he'd be a pretty happy guy.

Meela said,"Well yes, I'm in Ravenclaw as well, I'm a transfer student. Was being....er.....home schooled before" she laughed. "I guess, it is not appealing to my father that I'm in Ravenclaw, he'd want me to be Slytherin."

"Oh? That's nice. I've never really been home schooled before, but my dad always spends a lot of time teaching me about magical creatures." She tilted her head to the side, confused at what Meela was saying. "Really? That's sort of silly since you can't choose the house you get sorted into." She had always found it off when people talked about their parents being displeased with what house they were in, considering the students didn't have much of a say in the matter.

Dean continued on smiling. "Well, don't worry about what your parents think. Ravenclaw is a great house! I'm in Gryffindor myself, but I know a pretty amazing Ravenclaw." He smiled at Luna and had to laugh at his cheesiness. He looked back to Meela. "Besides, it's what makes you happy, not about what your parents want." He nodded once and smiled again.

Meela smiled and said, "Yhea, you are right, well. Father wanted me to be in Slytherin just cause he's a um.... a... death eater and he was in Slytherin. I find it quit stupid though" she laughed and smiled again. "My mom's a wonderful woman, though. She's not like my dad. Well what about you? Dean. Your family?, well sorry if i asked something personal!" she apologised.

Luna smiled at Dead's comment, flushing slightly before she turned back to Meela. "Oh." Her eyes widened when the girl mentioned her dad being a death eater, and she wasn't really quite sure what to say to something like that. "Oh..." She cleared her throat and forced a smile as she looked past that little factor.

Dean too was taken by surprise at the confession, and had to shake his head to remember he was asked a question. "Um. My mom is a muggle and I don't know about my real dad. But my stepfather is a wizard, and so is my brother. He's in Gryffindor with me as well." He tried to put a warm smile on his face, but was still a little thrown from the Death Eater confession.

Meela smiled." Oh....um...okay. I...um.... dont worry I'm not going to hurt you" she laughed, "Really,dont worry.I am not like my dad. Well our family is pureblood, and I dont hate muggleborns or muggles,or half-bloods for that matter, my mother is a half-blood, so I have muggle blood running through my veins." she smiled. She looked at the girl and said,"Well what did you say your name was?"

Luna blinked, a bit confused as she tried to take in everything the girl was saying. But, she seemed nice enough so eventually Luna smiled and relaxed noticeably. "Luna. Luna Lovegood," she smiled as she answered the girl's questions. "I don't have any siblings like Dean. It's just me and my dad now."

Meela smiled,"Oh and your mother? Well my mother usually doesnt pay much attention to me, so its like I almost dont have a mother even though I have one because.... because of my half brother and half sister" she sulked as she said so, with a hint of anger on her face.

Luna glanced down at her hands and shrugged. "My mum died when I was younger," she answered simply without making eye contact. "So it's just my dad and me."

Dean frowned and pulled Luna close to his side when Meela asked about her mother. "Luna's father runs a very popular magazine." He didn't care if some people made fun of the Quibbler, he actually enjoyed reading the articles about obscure creatures in the Wizarding World. "And Luna is about to prove the existence of the Crumple Horned Snorkack." He smiled proudly, also excited that he would hopefully get to help.

Meela said, "Oh..... I uh.......did not um......know that" she seemed uncomfortable, she did not want to make fun of Luna, she knew that her father made fun on the Quibbler and that he did not bealive in it. She said, "I'm.... I..... read it, no really I do read the Quibbler. Its fun too read and know about things that I have never seen. And I'm sorry about your mother" she said, "I'm moslty sorry for myself about my mother. I did not know that my mother would....... nothing forget it". She looked down as tears escaped her eyes, she did not want anyone to see her cry.

"Oh, I'm glad you enjoy it. The Quibbler really is an interesting read and there's a lot to be learned in there about magical creatures in other parts of the world, not to mention all the conspiracies going on in the ministry." She smiled sadly as Meela apologized. "It's alright. It isn't your fault," she assured her before the girl started crying. Luna froze, unsure of what to do now as it seemed Meela didn't want to talk about it. She reached over and awkwardly patted the girl on the back as she tried to comfort her. "There, there."

Dean looked at Luna when Meela started crying, not really sure what to do. He followed Luna's lead and reached over and patted her on the back. "Hey, it's okay. Um, " he was kind of at a loss for what to say "Um, you know we can't really choose our family but we can chose to be better than them. Uh, so yeah, don't worry about things your parents may have done in their past, just focus on how you can like, make better choices?" He looked at Luna again, uncertain if what he said made sense.

Meela nodded, and wiped her tears. She said, "No use crying now is there? I used to think I was the only unluckiest person in the whole world, but I'm not the only one, am I now?" she smiled and gave Dean a kiss on his cheek as a thanx for comforting her. She smiled at Luna and said,"Which year are you in again?"

Dean jumped a little in surprise when Meela suddenly kissed him on the cheek. "Um. Well, you just have to wait until you're seventeen, then you don't really have to see them again." He looked at Luna, a little confused but glad Meela had stopped crying.

Luna felt an odd sort of feeling as Meela kissed Dean on the cheek, and it wasn't a very pleasant one either. Without realizing it, she scooted closer to her boyfriend and rested her head on his shoulder, not taking her eyes off of Meela as if the girl was going to try doing something else to Dean. "I'm a 5th year, and my boyfriend," she added, gesturing with a nod towards Dean. "Is a 7th."

Meela laughed and said, "I only kissed him on the cheek, I only meant to thank him, Luna you dont have to be possesive. Well, being homschooled was a good expeirience for me I am good at brewing potions, what your best subject's?" Meela was still giggling at the expression on Dean's and Luna's faces.
