Severus groaned and sat up, looking at Lily. "Sorry," he mumbled, looking miserable.

Pansy bit her bottom lip, trying to decide if she should stay and help Lily or let them be on their own. She finally sat down, figuring she could stay for a bit just in case.

Lily's heart was torn at seeing Sev so miserable, and she hugged him tightly. "Don't apologize for a thing, Sev, not a thing, unless you're apologizing for drinking. Can't believe you'd ever touch alcohol..But i'm here for you.." She couldn't help but grin. "Even if you stink from the filthy stuff."

Severus took one look at Lily, and burst into tears again. "Sorry I'm stinky," he sobbed, dropping his bottle on the ground. "I missed you, Lily, I'm so sad, so sad."

Pansy grabbed the bottle once it was free from his hands, hoping to get it without him noticing. She chanced a glance at Lily, silently asking if she would be okay if she left for the castle. If she needed help, she would do that, but otherwise, she'd rather let them be alone. She had people to find anyway, namely Draco.

Lily realized his words would probably be funny...out of context. She hugged him tighter, then relaxed so her arms were around him loosely, for comfort. "I'm so sorry you're so sad, Sev...but you don't have to miss me any more at least...I'm here.." She looked up at Pansy for a minute, nodded a tiny bit to let her know that Sev was alright with her, if Pansy wanted to leave.

Severus didn't notice Pansy take away the bottle- he was too busy crying and looking at Lily. "You here. I like yous here. Lily make Sevvy happy. Sevvy never gonn' be happy 'gain, nevers! Wolfy took happies..."

Pansy gave Lily a small smile of thanks, knowing she was the only one who would really be able to make Sev happy again today. She got up and headed quietly toward the castle and the common room, taking Sev's bottle of whiskey away with her.

Sev looked up at Lily, wide-eyed. "But wolfy gone! He no love me no more! How cans Sevvy be happies?" he said, confused and distraught. He started to feel a little woozy, but forced himself to sit up straight. "I sorry Lily. Me knows you no likey drunkies. 'specially stinky drunky Sevvy."

This is Sev...just a little insane...but Sev... Lily tilted his head to meet her eyes, whether or not it matter with his current level of awareness. "You're not just any drunk, you're my friend...I just pity your situation and feel sympathy towards your pain." Gently she kissed his forehead and smiled. "You can be happy again, Sev. He wasn't the world, and isn't now. Your life isn't gone because he is...it's just in a ditch."

[Lily's not quite happy she had to say "Happies"... So I feel so bad for you having to type the atrocities.]

[Do any of you read the webcomic Questionable Content? This reminds me of a character, Faye. She's such a grammar nazi and proper-english-obsessive that she won't even use contractions except when drunk.]

Severus quieted down as he looked into Lily's eyes. There was something about their beauty that made him feel instantly calmer, and he stopped crying. "But now nobody loves me. I no has been loveded! But he saided he loved me. I wish I could be loveded. Like you. You very loveded."

[Loveded!? LOL. It took me half a second to even figure out what poor drunk Severus was trying to say xD]

A sad smile crept across her face at her friend's words. "Sev, i've got my friends and a.. fan?..no..make Sev happy.. stalker. You've got your Slytherin friends also. Pansy seems to be..quite the wonderful friend. Love is more than physicality.. or romance, Sev."

[I'm surprised Sev even understands her vocabulary...there's a few sort of big words in her dialogue XD ah well.]

Severus smiled just the tiniest bit at the mention of Pansy's name. "Pansy good fwend. She taked cares of me," he said, stumbling over his words. "Hey! Yous gotted a me too! I's not just a fwend. I yous bestest fwend! 'Cause Lily is speshulll. Verry special. Lily bestest person in evers!" he mumbled, trying to stay focused as his vision slipped away and back again. "But I liked his loves, Lily. His loves were nice. He maded me feel likes I was good person! Likes I was not so bad. But now Sevvy know better. Sevvy really is bad, bad bad bad! Sevvy no gets love 'cause Sevvy just bad drunkie who stinkies, and likes his Lily!"

Lily laughed softly. "Thank you Sev, and yes, i've got you, my bestest friend.. but you're being silly. You're not a bad person. Not at all. If I'm a good person, so are you. You...you're just unlucky enough to get hurt that badly. Nobody finds love that easily, Sev, NO ONE. Don't think he's the one for you, there's more than a few people who know you're a good person, and even someone out there I bet who is perfect for you."

[My head hurts...Lily pretty much just said the opposite of the entire future in the HP books as relates to herself and Sev. O.o]

"Oh Sev.." Tears came to Lily's eyes, feeling so sorry for her friend. "You're certainly wanted as a friend! Don't think you aren't for a second! You'll find someone who wants you romantically.. you will, I know you will. There's so many who want you as friends, why not someone who wants you as more? " I almost wish I could tell him I did...but I don't, and false hope would be the absolute worst for him right now...but he's my friend, so i'll do anything else to comfort him..

Severus sighed, looking at his friend and seeing the tears in her eyes. "Oh noes! No has a sad, Lily! No cries! Why so sad? Was Sevvy bad? I sowwy! No no no no no, Lily can't has no sads! Sads bad!" he rambled, trying to hug her but ending up more or less just collapsing on her. "See! No sads! You has a hug!"

Lily grinned and blinked back tears. "I just wish you were happier Sev! That's it, but I'm glad you're honest with me, and yes, thank you, I have a hug..I've noticed." The smile stayed as she hugged him back, and made him look at her face, smiling. "You weren't bad, Sev."

Severus let go of her, falling backwards as he lost his support and landing on his back. He looked up at the stars and groaned, lost in thought again. "Stars pretty. Likes teh perfect. Teh perfect, she's so perrrtyyy. So perrty! And so nice! Perrty perfect so nice, so perty!" he mumbled, forgetting Lily was still there. "Uh ohs. I smelly. I needs go not be smelly. Teh perrty no likey stinky Sevvy, no no no!"

Lily giggled, Sev wasn't bad drunk. Just a bit more emotional and lacking any sense of grammar. And speaking nonsense about a "perfect".
She lay down beside him, looking up at the stars and admiring their beauty. "Yeah Sev...they're beautiful...and you could probably smell a lot worse." Maybe not...but he's in such a state...and it's be wretched for him to wander the halls so drunk.
