Severus frowned. "Is home really that bad?" he asked, knowing full well that he'd victimized poor little Kerbit, but letting it slide... FOR NOW. Kerbit did not deserve it! He did not, he did not! I may demand joint custody of Kerbit, for his own protection.

"It is Malfoy Manor. When is it ever actually homely?" Draco arched a brow. He shrugged, "It's the reason why I was late coming here in the first place. I just don't like talking about it. I haven't talked about it with anyone, but Pansy. She's the only person who knows about the things I had to do when I was at home," He paused. This was even more awkward now that there was a woman who looked exactly like his mother in her pictures from back in the day. It was weird, "My dad didn't want me to come to Hogwarts. He didn't think they were educating me on the right subjects, if you know what I mean," He looked up at Sev before continuing, "Anyways. He made me cast Unforgivables on people. Animals. Anything, that he could find or had a profound dislike for. My mom was angry, she didn't want me learning that stuff. She wanted me to decide things for myself. They got into a large argument when she said I should come here. He left and didn't return home for weeks. Mom sent me here. End of story, for now..." His voice faded and he felt his gaze fall to his feet, "I've disappointed him. I don't think he'll return anytime soon."

[Probably because he came back to school too.]

Sev's eyes widened at Draco's words, hardly believing it, but he knew he had no reason to lie. "I... I'm sorry," he said, at a loss for words. "What... did you do it?" he asked stupidly. Of course he had. Nobody defied Lucius Malfoy.

[btw, the boner pairing is bolar/Conner (who's name spelling we changed to fit. We were trying to think of dirty pairing nicknames, and nobody could come up with something for "boner" and that was the only thing that worked. Please have a sense of humor?]

[Connor, I'm sorry. I'm told to explain. We were coming up with really bad names for pairings, which started on Skype by someone proposing Hermerus, which we decided is an STI that combines genital warts and hemorrhoids. They came up with Bonner, which is Bolar/Connor. I'm sorry for you.]

I wouldn't have been able to tell anyone even if I had wanted to, which I didn't. I was too ashamed of what I was doing to try and tell anyone. I felt as if people wouldn't want to help someone who was doing... what I had to do. But, I've moved past that now. I don't like talking about," He glanced back up at Severus, looking puzzled, "Of course I did," He closed his eyes, attempting to forget all of it, "Can - Can we not talk about this anymore? I thought you deserved to know about it, being one of my closest friends and all, but it's not a subject that makes me talk for days..."

Severus looked at him, such utter pity in his eyes. "Of course... right, no, don't talk about it, not if you don't want to. Just know that I'd listen, if you wanted me to," he said, looking at him sadly. "Thank you, though. For confiding in me," he said, feeling oddly flattered that Draco thought he deserved to know.

It was with much restraint Lily kept herself from moving again. He'd seemed quite snappy and rude, demanding to know who she was. She simply nodded as he said his name, and turned back to her studying.

Lily decided she didn't want to have to talk to him any longer and stood up. "Bye, Cormac." Her tone of voice was sharp, and she simply turned around and walked off, holding her books to study from.

Dom led Fleur down to a quiet area that was still by the lake. She found a large rock for the two of them to sit on, and sat down quietly. "You don't have to say anything if you don't want to," she said to Fleur. "I just figured that getting away from Sirius and other people that may have shown up at the lake was for the best."
