He was standing in the Astronomy Tower this time, holding onto the railing. James was behind him and so was Sirius. They were yelling at him, what he could not hear but they were yelling none the less. There was an intense energy surrounding them filling the air. He felt nothing but rage and wanted to turn around and just toss the other two men out of the Tower but he controlled himself. He needed to learn control. Learn to stop hurting others and control himself. Then one of the two reached out and grabbed him by the shoulder. He spun around to snap back but lost his footing. Suddenly the railing disappeared behind him and he fell watching James and Sirius's horrified looks as he plummeted to the ground below.

Remus woke up with a start, the books on his lap tumbling to the floor. He cursed himself silently and reached down to pick of the books. He was even more tired now than he was before he'd fallen asleep. Opening the book he'd been reading earlier he yawned and rested his head on his hand while trying to focus on reading.

He summoned Flower from his dorm, the little white rabbit hopped in and sat on his lap. "Hey there Flower." He pet the rabbit as he continued to try and stay awake to read.

*Hermione wanders into her place of refuge, the Library. She loves everything about it - the smell of the books, the rich wooden furniture, but mostly she loves the silence. She wanders through the stacks, not really needing anything right now, just looking for something to capture her interest. She runs her hand along a few titles, feeling the dust gather and cling to her fingertips. She turns to head down a new aisle and freezes.*

*He's there. She takes a moment, then keeps to her path. The castle isn't that big, and they still have to share a common room. They'll have to learn to be in the same room at some point, anyway. She keeps perusing the shelves, allowing the comfort of the setting to creep back to the forefront of her thoughts*

Dee was whispering to some random first year, who looked seriously frightened of her. "So you know Severus Snape right? That guy who looks like Prince Humperdinck, only greasier? Yeah, I thought you would. And you know that guy Remus Lupin? Yeah, him. The one who looks like Wesley? WELL THEY ARE GOING OUT! Like, legit going out. Ya know, dating, holding hands, fucking each other's brains out, eating chocolate rabbits together, and doing potions together! They were in here, earlier, doing lovey dovey stuff." She giggles. "And then I stuffed a bolar down Snape's pants! It was funny!" Dee giggles and bumps her head on the table, not noticing the first year run away for dear life screaming, "SHE BELONGS IN THE PIT OF DESPAIR!"

*Her hand freezes on the book she was about to pluck from the shelf as she overhears Dee's not-so-whispery voice*

They're dating now!?

*She feels her stomach lurch. A part of her knew this was coming, knew that despite all his protests, every time he turned away from her he was turning right to him, but she still can't quite bring her mind to grasp the concept. And she can't believe he didn't at least have the courtesy to tell her about it himself.*

*A wounded anger creeps into the pit of despair that's eating a hole through her entire body and she feels her lip curl back in disgust. She doesn't even know who he is anymore - the Remus Lupin that had been hers would have wanted her to find out in the easiest way possible*

Remus looked up tiredly at her. He could tell she was angry, feel how angry she was, but he didn't want to deal with her at the moment. The dream from the night before crossed his mind but he shoved it back. Why did he have to feel so connected to her? Even now, her standing in front of him, he just wanted to touch her, comfort her, tell her everything was going to be alright. But he wouldn't. He couldn't, and things weren't going to be alright. Not for them at least. Not now. The rabbit was standing, leaning on his chest, and attempting to nibble at his ear but he ignored it. "Um...no not that I'm aware of."

[i'm going to be heading off for dinner shortly but i won't be out too long cause my friend has a class later tonight so we have short dinners on tuesdays. just letting you know now so if I randomly disappear for a bit you'll know why]
