He takes a deep breath. He hates that he put that expression on her face. He wanted to hold her and tell her it was okay, but something in the alcohol made him keep going. "I know. I want to, you have no idea how bad I do. I just can't get over these things. Everything that happened hurt me so bad. Every time I see James I can only picture...and then I ran into Fabian in the hall once and I got..so..angry." He stopped before he said something truly idiotic.

"You...you confronted Fabian?" she blanches. "Dean, what happened," she asks slightly concerned. "Please tell me you didn't do anything to him."

He, for some reason, got even more angry as she seemed concerned for him. "What's it matter what I did to him." he spat at her. "Don't worry, I didn't hurt his pretty face." he looked down at the ground again.

She shakes her head and takes a deep breath to keep her anger and frustration in check. "Pretty face?" she spits. "I'll have you know, I don't give a damn about what kind of face he has. I just don't want you either getting in a fight or in trouble. It's not freaking worth it."

"Very pleased. Though I'd be more pleased if you hadn't been drinking. You said you were going to try and stop Dean. I understand it's an addiction, but it almost seems like you really aren't trying," she says with an irritated sigh.

"It helps take the edge off. When things get...hard. It helps make it go away." He didn't know why he was explaining this. Mr. Alcohol speaks for him "When was the last time you smoked?"

She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and then opens her eyes. "Yesterday," she admits quietly, deciding that honesty was best.

He put on an accusing tone "I thought you were going to try and quit. It seems like you aren't even trying?" He glared at her.

"Dean," she manages to choke out. "I didn't mean too. Please, I'm sorry," she tells him stepping forward. "It wasn't that I was lying about the cigarette. I would have told you if you asked."

"I would have told you about the drinking if you hadn't asked." His expression soften JUST A LITTLE. "I don't know why you enjoy messing with me. I can't even describe how much I care for you. And- you don't even care do you?"

She shakes her head instantly. "No Dean, I do care," she counters. When had everything gotten so messed up? One minute they were back to being fine, and now...this. "I care a lot. I don't...I don't enjoy 'messing' with you," she says, surprised by these accusations. "Not in the slightest."

"Yeah. Okay. Whatever. I bet you enjoy all the shit I went through for you. I especially loved the part where your brother punched me, and I took it and stood up for you. You know what. I don't care anymore. I'm done with this. See you around" He took one last look at her, memorizing her perfect features. He turned and headed back towards Hogsmeade. He felt like his chest was being ripped apart. He held his head high as he walked away and tried his hardest not to look back.
