Sirius walks up behind Katie, before things happen with Viktor. "Hufflepuff smores," he mumbles, and the portrait swings open. "Hey, Katie," he says, looking miserable and clearly hung over.

"Yeah. I missed you too," he said, and he meant it. At least Katie would never do this to him. Her, he could count on. He thought about how he'd rejected her before, and felt sick, realizing he somehow understood how she felt now. Fleur... James... how could they? Whatever. It didn't matter. They weren't worth anything to him anymore. Katie, on the other hand, was. He smiled at her, and couldn't restrain himself from giving her a tight hug, grateful, for the first time, truly grateful that he had her. "You're a wonderful girl, Katie Bell."

Katie was shocked by the unexpected hug from Sirius. He had been distant recently. Even though thye had spoken at the Lake. She knew he wanted Fleur and that all she would ever be was second best. But she would be the best darn second best he'd ever see. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, "You are also wonderful Sirius Black. One of the most wonderful people I know."

Katie beamed as though a fire in her had just been lit, warming her heart. "Of course Sirius. I would love to!" Her mind wondered briefly to whether he was picking her because Fleur was taken, but she cast the thought aside, revelling in her happiness.

"Wonderful!" he said with a grin, and promptly swept her off her feet and into his arms, swinging her around and laughing. "You'll look marvelous, I'm sure. But I need to get going. You wouldn't want your date to smell this bed," he said with a chuckle. "I'll see you around. I'm going to go shower. Bye, beautiful!" he called after her, heading for the showers.

Katie stood on the spot laughing as Sirius left. She couldn't believe it. Her and Sirius. She had to tell someone. Where was Luna when you needed her? With that she stepped through the prtrait hole that had been open the whole time.

Sirius sighed and pecked her on the cheek. "Don't worry about it, girl. Me and Whoremione can't fucking stand each other, but we're attempting to get along for Remus' sake, which is so clearly and totally pointless, as you just saw. I fucking hate that bitch."

Sirius grinned. "I didn't even come up with that one. I honestly have no idea who did. I think it may have been Draco Malfoy- but the name stuck," he said with snort of laughter.

At the last moment Katie turned her head, and caught him on the lips. Gently he felts his lips graze against her and she pulled away, "Oh... Sorry. I - I.. Sorry" She blushed bright red and dropped her gaze.

Sirius laughed, and tilted her chin up to look at him. "Don't worry, it was an accident. Though, maybe it wasn't, and you just can't resist me," he teased, winking at her. "Let's try that again, shall we," he said, planting a kiss on her cheek properly this time.
