"Go!? Just go? Remus, what are you saying? Are you even listening to yourself?" he said, his voice weak. He wrapped his arms around Remus tightly, hugging him close and letting his tears run free. This was insane, this wasn't right, this was all so, so, so wrong, nothing was the way it was supposed to be, he was supposed to be happy, he was supposed to be loved, this was all horribly wrong horribly twisted all so wrong. "Re-remus... Please, stop, don't do this! Don't throw me away like this, don't just tell me to go! Can't you see I love you? Can't you see I need you? I can be good for you, Remus! I'm sorry, I haven't been trying enough for you, I've been too selfish, too ignorant, Remus, please, I'll be better for you! I'll give you what you need, okay? I promise, I'll do anything for you, anything!"

His heart was breaking for Sev but he was set in his decision. He gently pried Sev off of him. "No. You've been trying to hard and I haven't been trying hard enough. You've done nothing wrong it's just me being...me I guess. Now either you walk out of here first or I will."

Sev's face was flooded with tears, the hurt in his eyes painfully obvious as he gazed at Remus in disbelief. "But I thought... everything was so perfect, just yesterday, in your arms... This isn't right! This isn't okay! You can't just - just - just walk away! You can't do that to me, I won't let you, not when you've given me all of this! You can't just take it away now, you can't, you can't. Am I not enough? Am I not good enough? Is that what this is? Then why didn't you just tell me that before, Remus? Why didn't you tell me any of this before..." He grasped Remus' hand, refusing to let him go.

"SEV STOP ALRIGHT?!" He tugged his hand from Sev's grasp taking a step back. "Not good enough?! You're a much better person than I will EVER be! Just LET. ME. GO." He hadn't wanted to yell at him but if that was what it took to get Sev to see what a...jerk Remus was, how bad he was, then he would do it.

Sev stood there, staring at Remus. He couldn't move, he couldn't think, he couldn't speak, hell, he could hardly even breathe. He was shaking, his tear stricken face even paler than before, if that was even possible. This was unreal, so surreal, this could not be happening. Just hours ago, Remus and him had been lovers entwined in the heat of the night, holding each other close, loving each other, being happy. At least, Severus had been happy. Had he been so blind, to have missed the signs? Had he really been so ignorant in his bliss? He opened his mouth to say something, but couldn't find the words. Instead, he launched himself at Remus, throwing his arms around his neck and kissing him with fervor, as if he believed that if he put enough of his love into the kiss, Remus might stay, might remember how wonderful things could be.

Remus shoved him back roughly this time. "STOP IT! Just...STOP, Severus. Merlin..." He couldn't let this keep happening. This was over now. "I'm sorry. This is over. I won't bother you again. Goodbye." He walked off leaving the Tower. Remus had given Sev the chance to walk off first but he hadn't so now Remus was leaving.
