Pansy woke up shivering, slumped over on her side curled up against the hard stone wall of the tower. The sun was just beginning to pop over the horizon, but it's cheerful light did nothing to improve her mood. Her cheeks felt stiff, streaked with dried tears from the night before. His name wouldn't stop running through her head, and it tortured her. He would never love her, she was convinced of that now. The wind hadn't ceased all night, and her fingers felt frozen. She remembered the last time she'd been up here at night, and how it had landed her in the hospital wing, and she feared the same thing had happened this time. She wasn't feeling well, though she wasn't sure if it was from heartache or some kind of sickness setting in from the cold air. She brushed her hair back off her face and sat up, tugging her robe around her shoulders but not feeling any additional warmth from it. Memories from the night before attacked her mind, and she couldn't push them away no matter how she tried. Knowing she couldn't stay here forever, Pansy got up and walked to the edge of the tower, staring out over the peaceful silent grounds. What it must be like to just be a tree, to just grow and live and be, and not have a heart. Or a thestral in the forest, they don't have any cares. Even a flobberworm seemed preferential to this.

Pansy couldn't remember how long she stood there staring. Minutes. Hours. It didn't matter. Time passed incomprehensibly as she leaned against the half-wall, her arms crossed trying to keep herself warm. The wind was relentless up here, tearing at her robe and hair, chilling her bare legs where the skirt and knee socks did not meet. Her eyes stared, blank, unblinking, at nothing in particular. Maybe the sun on the lake, maybe the ruffling trees of the Forbidden Forest. She didn't know and didn't really care. She didn't want to think about anything because it always connected back to him, always brought her right back to those feelings she tried to tell herself she didn't have anymore. She shivered. Though she told herself she would never cry again, that she could not, would not show weakness, she knew that was a lie as a single tear made its way down her cheek.

[I'm tired of sad Pansy already. This is bad.]

She's getting sick out here anyway. Once Remus is out of the hospital wing, I guess she'll head down there with some kind of flu.]
