Re: The Astronomy Tower
Snap out of it, Parkinson. She shook her head hard, trying to pull her thoughts back to the moment. It was too cold up here to stay any longer, and she wasn't feeling so well. She was covered in chills, but her palms and head felt too hot. She knew she needed to get herself back inside, but that would mean risking seeing people she didn't want to see. Since when were you such a coward, Pansy? Suck it up. She told herself as she turned around and made her way toward the stairs. She nearly tripped down them twice, and decided she might stop by the hospital wing for something to make her feel a little better.

Re: The Astronomy Tower
Pansy wandered back up to the tower. It was still the only lonely place around here, with so many people running around the common rooms and at the lake. The Slytherin Common Room was definitely not a place she'd be going any time soon, too many people she didn't care to speak with. Since she'd left it that night, she hadn't been back, staying in the hospital wing instead. But for now, she wanted silence and this was one of the few places she could have it. Her mind was troubled, torn in so many directions, and she wasn't used to this indecision. Why had I ever let myself believe that he could change? Why would he? He has no reason to. Why settle for one girl, for just me, when he could have all that he wanted, all the time, any time, anyone. She had always suspected, always known that she would never be enough for him. She just hated that she'd finally let herself believe she might be. Now look where it'd gotten her.
She sat down on one of the benches and stared up at the sky, counting the handful of stars that had already popped out of the growing darkness. She could find the shapes of Orion the Hunter, Pegasus, Canis Major, Ursa Minor... and there was Draco. The dragon constellation, the dragon killed by Minerva according to Roman stories, thrown into the sky to last forever after death. Sometimes the sleeping dragon, guarding the golden fleece, but it too was killed and thrown into the sky. Those were tragic ends she didn't like associating with that name.
She leaned back on her palms, staring at the sky, getting lost among the stars. Nothing could touch her up there. She wished she could be a constellation.

[I would totally have had Sev come up here and run into you, but I gotta go to bed... If he sees you all sad he'd be too distracted by you being upset to remember he should be running away.]

[-gasp- NO WAY! Oh god, it was terrible yesterday, especially since I don't remember the last time I saw it. During one of the many conversations about sex yesterday someone brought up endorphins, and was like 'endorphins make you happy' and I literally could not stop myself from finishing the sentence for him.]

Re: The Astronomy Tower
[I'm going to make it rainy, for pathetic fallacy. Oooh.]
Draco entered the Astronomy Tower, his head pounding. He was stupid. So fucking stupid. He had blamed Severus, but it wasn't his fault at all. I should have controlled myself. I shouldn't have done this to her - I shouldn't have even come back. I don't belong here. He leaned over the edge of the Tower and took off his jacket, dropping it down over the ledge. Interestingly enough, the fall seemed inviting. He hadn't done anything to help anyone, he had just made it worse. He had yelled at Severus, one of his only friends, and said that he was the same as Hermione. That friendship was over now and it was, again, all Draco's own doing. Why am I such a fuck up? He climbed up on to the ledge and let the rain envelop him. He stared down at the Grounds beneath him, wondering. If I were buried, would people even bring flowers to remember me? I wouldn't want them to. I wouldn't want people to have to live through their lives remembering me. I'm not worth it. He hated himself for what he had done to Pansy the most. I told her I loved her. I told her not to give up on me. I told her - I promised - I - He closed his eyes. His mind went blank. There was no more time to think, just time to jump. He wouldn't be a burden to her or Sev any longer. The Mudblood and her fucking asshole boyfriend would be left to be tormented by someone other than him. In the long run, the world would be better.
[I love the depression. SO HAPPY!]

Severus ran after him, his tears masked by the rain. "Draco! Stop! Get down, please..." he cried pitifully, reaching for his hand. "Please, Draco, stop, please just listen to me."

[PATHETIC FALLACY IS AWESOME AND EMBODIES THE EMO-NESS THAT IS DRACO MALFOY.]
Draco pulled his hand away from Severus and moved further down the ledge, "Leave me alone. Isn't that what you told me in the dormitory? Well, I am! I'm leaving you alone, just in a different fucking sense!"
