Draco raised his arm with some sorry-assed second year's book, ready to chuck it in the fire then he digested what she'd said. "You did what to Granger?"

Pansy's chest was heaving by now, angry. "Put her in the hospital wing unconscious for a week, like she deserved." She said it like it was nothing, because to her, it was. She didn't care about the bitch. She'd started Pansy and Draco's downfall, and she'd nearly caused Draco to kill himself. Pansy could not have ignored that for long. It had been a great moment for her. Frustration gone, power achieved. Sweet, sweet vengeful victory.

"Really? You did that? Thanks, I guess I never realized..." his voice trailed off and he stood, still clutching the second year's book, staring at her. As he stood there all the reason he'd fallen in love with her flooded back. Her anger, her spirit, her beauty... she was everything he'd ever dreamed of, ever wanted, ever needed. "Look, Pansy. I'm... I'm sorry."

"Yeah, you're welcome, as if it even mattered anymore." She turned away from him, scowling into the fire. She tried to keep her voice level. "Don't tell me you're sorry. It's too damn late for that." She hated him right now, for making her want to run to him and hold him. It took all she had not to reach out and just touch him, just once. He had been right before. He was no good for her. She struggled to remind herself of this.

Pansy tried not to melt under his touch. She turned her body toward him again, simultaneously pulling away from his hand, though she could still feel the warmth where his fingers had been. "Don't touch me," she mumbled.

Pansy tried not to melt under his touch. She turned her body toward him again, pulling away from his hand, though she could still feel the warmth where his fingers had been. "Don't touch me," she mumbled.

"Pansy" he couldn't mask the hurt in his voice. "Look, I really think we should try to fix this..." He reached out towards her again.

Pansy brushed his hand away from her again, staring into his eyes. How could he do this to her? Why did he choose NOW, of all times, to try and be sweet and caring and, whatever he was doing. He'd called her "Pansy". Not "Parkinson", or bitch or whore or whatever else he'd managed to shout at her the last time they'd spoken. Pansy. She would not let herself cry. "Not now, Draco. It's too damn late. We can only fix it so many times before it's permanently broken." She took a step backwards. "I don't know what to think anymore. My heart's broken, and honestly, I'm done feeling like this." She turned and left the common room in a rush, headed to the silence of her dormitory before Draco could speak again and make her cry.

Draco had to stop himself from running after her. From pushing her up against the wall and ravishing her. From falling to his knees. From begging forgiveness. He slowly walked towards his dorm, every step feeling like a thousand. He couldn't stop her parting words from spinning through his mind: permanently broken. As he walked up the stairs he felt his resolve hardening. No. It was not permanent. Not if he could help it.

Regulus wanders in and takes a seat on the couch, bored, but not really wanting to head out to the pitch for fear of running into Cormac, who he still wasn't ready to face. He wondered who'd turn up.

Scorpius enters the common room and notices that it is relatively empty. He grabs a book out of his bag and then lays himself on the couch.

Regulus walks in and sees Scorpius, but quickly evades him and heads to his dorm. He was too damn tired to talk to him about Faye right now, and his head was too full of thoughts of Viktor, his sweet Viktor, and his amusing friend Tolga. He'd deal with that tomorrow, he decides.
