*Hermione muffles a scream when the wolf tackles Remus, and they start to wrestle. She can't believe how much she's going to kill Remus for putting her in this position, and she lets out a little whimper of surprise when the wolf runs at her and nudges her from behind, sending her to the ground. She rolls over and scrambles back towards Remus, staring up at the wolf and trying to remind herself that he hasn't attacked either of them.... yet....*


[Remus Lupin, Hermione is going to absolutely MURDER you for this!]

[xD I don't wanna die!!!!]

Wolfy whined, wanting to play more, and head butted Remus' leg. Remus, sensing Hermione's discomfort, knocks the wolf gently on the head, speaking sternly to it. "Stop that! Calm down now, play time is over." The wolf let out a little sigh and sat down watching them. "Sorry about that..didn't think he'd get so hyper all of a sudden." Remus sighed.

*Hermione gives Remus a look, because 'didn't think' seems like a pretty good phrase to sum up this entire adventure. She sighs, turning back to the wolf. He seems so sad and put out, no longer being allowed to play. Very tentatively, she reaches out (still with her left hand because she's rather attached to her wand arm!) and scratches behind the wolf's ears.*

[Remus Lupin]

Wolfy senses her reluctance to get too playful so he just sits and allows her to scratch behind his ears. He presses his head against her hand and a gentle growly/humming noise comes from his throat. Much like what Remus does when she rubs the back of his neck. Remus bit his lip, hoping she wouldn't be too mad at him later, and watched as the wolf sat there enjoying getting his ears scratched.

*Hermione continues to scratch behind the wolf's ears and slowly starts to relax as she comes to the realisation that he's not unlike a dog. A wild one. With super sharp teeth and very strong jaws... She stops the train of thought right there, and smiles to herself as the wolf makes the same sound Remus does when she rubs his neck. She looks up at Remus, still smiling, and speaks in an extremely light voice that does not at all match her words.*

Remus Lupin, I am so unbelievably angry with you right now.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus continues to bite his lip and ran a hand through his hair. "Sorry..." He watched them both a bit more then turned when he sensed another presence. A second wolf was standing at the edge of the forest. Remus spotted it then turned to the wolf in front of them. "Your sister's over there. I guess it's time for you to go." The wolf sniffed and looked towards the trees, spotting the second animal. He licked Hermione's hand then nudged at Remus, pushing at him. "I'm not going with you, silly! I have to stay here. Go on now. Or your sister will get mad. Girls aren't pleasant when they're mad. Go on!" Remus rubbed the wolf's head one last time then shoved him gently towards the trees. Looking back at them once more the wolf then turned and ran off into the trees, the other wolf following behind as they disappeared.

*Hermione crosses her arms and stares at Remus, because she hasn't had a hormonal bitch fit in a few days*

"Girls aren't pleasant when they're mad". "Girls aren't pleasant when they're mad"? "GIRLS AREN'T PLEASANT WHEN THEY'RE MAD"!!!???
Seriously, Remus? Seriously?

*she feels like a broken record, but she's too busy spluttering away with indignation to care at the moment.*

[*dies*]

Remus winced as she yelled and bit his lip. Well, it was true! They got all angry and yelled! That's not exactly the most pleasant thing in the world, now is it? His hand ran through his hair nervously again, messing it up, and he tried to apologize. "I'm sorry, love." He didn't know what else to say really...and he didn't want her to get even more upset if he said something utterly stupid, which he tended to do quite a lot.

[I'm running downstairs to throw my sheets in the laundry. Should be back in like 5 minutes haha]

*Hermione hears his apology, but more importantly, she has scented Remus' fear. Silly boy, a boy should never let an angry girl know when he's afraid, it's the equivalent of putting a drop of blood in the shark tank. Her hands start to flail angrily.*

Sorry!? What the hell were you thinking? Merlin, Remus, do you have any idea how scared I was?

[*hides cause he hates fighting*]

He crawls into the forest to die curses himself for his stupidity and tells himself to go bang his head on a table later as punishment. He hadn't thought, because he'd been so comfortable around the wolf. His comfortableness with the situation had caused an utter lack in judgment when it'd came to others and their safety. He reached out and pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her, and buried his face in her shoulder. "I'm sorry. That was stupid of me."

[*flails because she loves mood swings*]


*She continues to flail angrily, despite the fact that she's hitting his arms and chest with her wild flailings now*

No kidding, Remus! I mean, what am I meant to think? You're always stressing at me because you think I don't take all this wolf stuff seriously and you flip out on me when I do something as simple as nickname the baby a cub, and then here you are - And you expect me to just - I - I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO EAT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*She bursts into tears*

[Remus Lupin]

"I wouldn't have let it eat you." He grabbed hold of her hands, so she'd stop flailing, and held them down by her sides. Pressing his forehead against hers, he kissed the tip of her nose. "There was complete lack of judgment on my part because I was comfortable with the situation. I didn't mean to frighten you." He wasn't going to comment on the stuff about him thinking she didn't take the wolf stuff seriously and the whole 'cub' nickname thing. That was rather different because in that case they were talking about a werewolf. Not an actual wolf. He was probably more of a threat to her than that wolf was. He had the combined strengths and abilities of both man and wolf, where as the wolf just had it's own. And given her skills with a wand, he was pretty sure in a fight with that wolf she'd come out on top. Not that he was ever going to let that happen. He'd sooner die than let her get eaten by a wolf, or let one attack her.

*Hermione whimpers and buries her head into his neck. For a moment there, she'd thought the wolf was going to eat him too. Pulling her hands out of his grip, she wraps her arms around his neck.*

I'm sorry, I'm just tired from the party. And it was a bit of a shock to see you making furry friends like that...

*She sighs and squeezes him a little tighter. It was so confusing to her - she spends so much time trying to talk herself into being afraid of Remus because he insists he's so dangerous and that as a werewolf he would rip her throat out as soon as look at her. But she just can't feel that way, can't reconcile herself to the thought of Remus ever hurting her. Seeing him with an actual wolf had thrown her, she couldn't feel the same sense of complacency towards it because it wasn't Remus. Ugh, the whole thing just makes her head spin.*

Remus holds her tightly, one hand caressing her hair. "I'll be more considerate next time. I really am sorry for frightening you." He could sense some confusion in her but he didn't know if he should ask why or not. She'd explain if it was important so he was going to bother her. "Did you sleep well?" He was always worried about how she was doing. She needed to take care of herself, and it wasn't just her anymore there was the baby inside of her too. He knew she did her best, but he was always going to worry about her anyway. Because that's just what he did.

[be right back agaaaaain! have to go see if my laundry's ready to be switched over. *flails* it's so much easier to do at school than it is at home. xD]

Yeah I slept alright, I just think I didn't get enough or something. It was kind of a long night last night... I'm sorry, I guess I'm just not at my best today.

*She winds her fingers around his shirt, playing absently with the fabric and wishing she hadn't overreacted - she should've known better, should know that Remus would never have let anything happen to either her or the baby.*
