Peter frowns a little hoping he hadn't gone to far. oh well he thought i'll apologize when i see him at the dance. and with that peter stopped fighting to say on the ground and floated away on his happy thoughts.

Sirius sees Katie and walks up behind her quietly, wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing his lips to the back of her neck. "Hello, babe," he said quietly, smiling.

Sirius chuckled. "Books! I know those things! With the words, and no pictures. Horrible things," he teased, twirling a lock of her hair around his finger. "I've mostly been chilling out with a few friends- mostly Viktor Krum, since James and I... well, we're not talking anymore. In fact, we kind of hate each other now."

"I'm pretty sure you haven't been in the library.... uh at all since you started here right?" Katie teased, "Wait... you and James still haven't spoken? Do you plan on talking to him again?" Her hand reached up and brushed his cheek.

"No. I told him I was never speaking to him again. That's the second time he's betrayed me, and knowingly. He broke a serious promise to me, Katie. I trusted him. I really did," he said, frowning. "He's no friend of mine. We've made that clear."

Katie frowned, "Are you sure thats what you want? He was your best friend for so long. If its what you want, then fine. But, definatly? Won't you miss him?" She brough her hand up and ran it along his brow smoothing out.

Sirius sighed and clung to Katie. "Of course I miss him. I miss him terribly. But I'm not gonna fix this. I don't want to fix it. He knew what he was doing, what it would do to me, and he did it anyway. I don't need a friend like that. Besides, I have Viktor now. And he IS a good friend. And I won't ever have to worry about him stealing a woman from me," he added with a laugh.

"Viktor Krum? Wow. Good choice there!" Katie joked, her mind washed with images of Krums washboard abs. Man she would TAP THAT. "Is this about Fleur... you and James I mean..." Katie asked, not really wanting to hear the answer.

Sirius sighed, and kissed her lightly on the cheek. "I won't lie to you; yes, it was. But only partly so. It was far more about trust, and the fact I can no longer rely on him. I have no need for someone who's going to promise me one thing, and turn around and do the complete opposite. He's not the man he used to be, and if I can't trust him, I don't need him."

Sirius clung to her. "Katie, I don't care about that bit. I don't. I wouldn't be mad or angry if he'd played this game fairly- if that's what she wanted, I'd have been alright. But this lack of trust, I'm not dealing with. He promised me something, and he knew, when he made that promise, he knew what it meant to me, and he knew he had no intentions of keeping it. I don't need a friend like that. Someone like that doesn't have my back, they're not dependable, and they clearly don't give a damn about me. So I just don't give a damn about him anymore. I don't care what he 'took' from me- not that I ever had it in the first place. I care that he didn't give a shit about our friendship, that it didn't mean anything to him. So I'm done with James, alright?"

Dorcas skipped down to the lake, her newly gingered hair flowing down over her shoulders. She slipped off her shoes and cuffed up her jeans, wading into the shallow part of the lake by the dock, happily twirling in the water. She wondered when her best friend Caradoc would come to Hogwarts, but remembered that wouldn't happen til 2.0. Sad.

James skipped on down to the lake, a little happier now that he'd talked to Katie. Maybe tomorrow they could talk when she wasn't so upset over Sirius, that douchenozzle. He splashed into the water, getting everything around him wet, not even seeing the girl in the shallows.

Dorcas squealed when she felt bunchloads of water get splashed on her. Her jaw dropped before she burst out into laughter, "Do you normally go around splashing people? That's not very a conventional way of greeting someone, mister....uh, name?"

James jumped up, getting water everywhere again. "Hi, my name is James and I enjoy pranks, food, and ~~long walks on the beach~~ ~~Lily Evans~~ not being eaten alive by mice." He walked out of the water and sat on the dock, his feet hanging down while he dried himself off. "Your name?"

"WELL!" Dorcas quirked a brow as she waded over to the shore and sat beside him on the dock, letting her legs dangle over the edge. She swept her hair over one shoulder and smiled, "My name is Dorcas Meadowes. My friends usually call me Dorky and I enjoy taking risks, being silly, and not being splashed by random boys from Gryffindor."
