*She pauses, apple half stuffed in her face, realizing that what she's just said is completely and utterly.... wrong. Slowly, she lowers the apple, teeth marks still in it, looking very confused.*

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I've been there - I wouldn't wish it on anyone, let alone someone I care about as much as I care about you. Do you have... I don't know, other hobbies or something, to help keep your mind busy? I find it helps if you have something to do.

*Babbling at a million miles an hour in excitement.*

It's the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare. I founded it in my fourth year. We're an organization dedicated to obtaining freedom and equal rights for House Elves, who have been treated appallingly by Wizardkind in the past and one of our goals is to raise awareness, but another important part of what we do is knitting socks and hats in House Elf sizes in the hopes that we can free some of them. So will you join us? Please?

*Stops for oxygen.*

Well, a House Elf can only be freed if he or she is presented with clothes. My theory is, that as Hogwarts students, we have sufficient "ownership" *she says it like it's dirty word* over the Hogwarts House Elves that if we knit clothing and they pick it up, they'll be freed. So, we knit! Well.... Remus is a terrible knitter, all he does is tie his fingers in knots, but don't tell him I said that.
