"Last night after the party," she says, greaming like Molly Prewett. "With Hermione. We went into the forest to go searching for one. Rad! It. Was. So. Fluffy! We got to pet it and everything!" Luna flails about because she is a flailer unlike Viktor who just...doesn't understand flailing. Al flails...Lucius might do a flailing type movement if someone fucks with his hair...But I digress.

Caradoc has no shame in flailing, Sirius flails all the time, and Severus... would flail if someone attacked Lilu or Pansy. That's about it. "That's amazing, Lu! I bet it was so fluffy you could hardly bear it," he laughed, imagining Luna and Hermione looking for unicorns, and smiling at the image. "That sounds really happy and rather romantic, Luna. I'm glad you and Hermione are doing well, then," he remarked, looking at the gleeful look on her face.

Luna just smiles and nods because everything with Hermione is just perfect, even though eventually Hermione will run off with Viktor, who is currently sleeping with Luna's future husband. "It was. She's really wonderful," she says, sighing happily as she thinks about her perfect girlfriend, who she still hasn't made plimpie soup for. Oops.

Caradoc loved Luna's plimpie soup, just saying. Whenever he throws a party, he's catering plimpie soup from Luna, and the rest of the world can just deal. "That's good, Lu. I just wanna make sure that beautiful smile of yours stays on your face forever," he said, kissing her on the cheek gently and returning her smile. "She seems lovely, Lu. And she's easily the luckiest girl in the world, for having you."

"I think I'm the lucky one," she says happily, not thinking about Dean at the moment because she has people like Hermione and Caradoc to make her happy. "Anyway, I should get going now. I have studying to do," she says, because even though she's Looney Lovegood, she is a Ravenclaw. She likes studying and such. That, and Luan is not in a Luna mood this week. "Bye, Rad," she says, leaning up to kiss Rad on the cheek before skipping out of the alcove.

Luna comes in here after talking to Hermione, sitting down on the bench and resting her head in her hands as she finally breaks down crying, releasing all the emotions that she kept bottled up until now. She doesn't really have the will or the strength to make it back to her common room, so she settles for sitting in here, hoping that no one stumbles in because she'd rather be alone, though deep down she knows all she wants is a hug.

OMG SORRY I DIDN'T SEE THAT YOU POSTED.

Dean is walking along when he thinks he hears someone crying. He stops and starts looking around for where the sound is coming from. After a couple minutes of searching he finally founds Luna in a hidden alcove. Without even thinking he swoops down and grabs her in a big hug. He spoke softly as he rubbed comforting little circles on her back. "Luna, what happened?" He instantly wanted to pulverize whoever made her cry.

IT'S FINE *loves Dean*

Luna looks up as she feels someone hugging her, instantly feeling comforted when she sees it's Dean though it doesn't make her feel any less heartbroken. She doesn't say anything at first, instead just leaning into Dean as she continues crying and trying not to soak his shirt with her tears. She knew that she had promised Hermione not to tell anyone about their relationship, but after what just happened she knew she had to let someone know because she would only feel worse if she kept this all bottled up. "I...Hermione...Sh-She doesn't love me," she manages as she eventually stops crying, though the tears keep coming, she's at least able to keep herself from sobbing like she had been before Dean showed up. She takes a deep breath and rests her head on Dean's shoulder, tilting her head upward to look at his face. "We...I couldn't tell you. I promised. She didn't want people to know about us. But...I told her today..." She sniffles slightly and leans into Dean even more. "I told her and she said she couldn't love me back. And now she's gone."

Dean feels his heart breaking for her. It tore him apart seeing Luna like this. Of course he had no clue what Luna was talking about, none of it made any sense to him. He continued to rub her back and making the 'sshhh' noise as she continued to cry. He had to clear his throat so he wouldn't begin crying as well. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I quite understand. What happened with Hermione? She made you cry like this?" He was angry again, thinking how it was possible to hurt someone as loving and perfect as Luna is.

Luna doesn't blame Dean for not understanding. Her thoughts are sort of jumbled right now, so she's probably not doing a very good job of explaining to someone about this when he didn't even know she was dating anyone in the first place. "Hermione and I-- We were dating...And...And it was fine, and everything was fine and perfect, but today I told her I might be in love with her and now she's gone. She said she couldn't love me back," she says in one breath, her voice cracking as she nears the end of her explanation.

Suddenly so many things started to click into place. So many memories of Luna hesitating when he would talk to her. So many things made sense to him now. He remembered talking to Hermione about Luna, and how that seemed to make Hermione mad. He didn't realize it then, but now he understood. He hugged her tighter and cleared his throat again. He did know how it felt to lose someone you love. "I'm sorry love. I'm so sorry. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better and I wish there was a way I could take away your pain. This will get better though, I promise. I'll be here for you no matter what, okay?" He pulled her face up and wiped away her tears with his thumbs.

Luna felt pretty terrible for having Dean comfort her, especially after she had made him feel the same way when she told him she didn't return his feelings. But he was her closest friend and he didn't seem to be complaining, so she remained resting against him, wanting to smile as he wiped her tears away with his thumbs, but it seemed as if her muscles forgot how to do that. She doesn't have the energy to talk anymore, so she just nods at his words, staying still as he wipes away her tears before she rests her head on his chest, trying to hold back the tears but they don't seem to be stopping anytime soon. "Thank you," she whispered softly, still resting her head on him and making no effort to move just yet.

Dean could stay here holding her forever. She started swaying a little from side to side, like someone trying to comfort a small child would do. He really didn't know what to say to her, knowing nothing would make her feel completely better. It was one of those things that just got better on it's own. He kept rubbing circles on her back and rested his head on top of hers. "Is there anything I can do for you? Anything at all?"

Dean sort of wants to have an angry talk with Hermione....

JDOFSEIG SORRY I THOUGHT I HIT SEND ON THIS *got confused when I didn't see my post*

Luna shakes her head and closes her eyes, trying to think about just Dean's hand motions on her back which is rather difficult when all she can think about is Hermione. "No, just...Don't leave me. Not yet," she whispers quietly as she wraps her arms around Dean's waist and holds herself close to her friend, not wanting to have to face going back to her dorm to be all alone.

He whispers. "I'll never leave you Luna. Not ever." He continued to just hold her tight and let her cry as much as she needed to. He could stand here all night if she didn't want to go back to her common room. This felt right to him, and he wondered if she would ever feel that way. Or if she was even attracted to boys, not knowing that she was with a girl. That didn't really matter at the moment, he was just glad he could be the one to comfort her.

Luna eventually stops crying, though her breath is still shaky. She's not sure when this empty feeling will go away or when her heart will stop with that twinging feeling that she gets every time she thinks about Hermione. For some reason, she's having trouble remembering any happy moments she's had with her ex-girlfriend after their talk this morning. She eventually falls asleep on the bench in Dean's arms, the last though running through her mind being an extremely vivid picture of Hermione's face before Luna turned and walked away from her for the last time.

Dean realized Luna had fallen asleep in his arms. He kept her cradled to his chest and he leaned against the wall. He started softly humming a lullaby his mother used to hum to him when he had a bad day. He hoped that his would maybe help her to not have bad dreams. He absentmindedly played with her hair as he hummed the song. He thought of all the things he wanted to tell her. How she was the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. And how anyone was crazy for not loving her. Also how she was perfect in every way possible. If he didn't want to leave Luna right now, he would march right up to Gryffindor tower and give Hermione a piece of his mind.
