"I didn't even know the guy." Saying this to Seamus made her feel even more awful. He was always there for Lavender, even at times like this. "I mean, look at what I did to you! I led you on and then started dating someone else, and now..I fucked a random stranger." The curse felt weird coming off her lips, but she didn't care. She was moving past the point of sadness straight into anger.

"Lavender, you did not lead me on. We both know that it was my fault, I was being stubborn and put you in a position I shouldn't've." Seamus felt a sudden rush of the hurt from that one day, but bit it back. "As for this 'stranger', I trust he was, as you girls say, pretty damn hot in order for you to do that. And probably charming." He took the handkerchief back, used his wand to clean it, then returned it to her.

"Stop that! Why do you guys do that! Don't blame yourself at all!! This is so infuriating!" Lavender let out a frustrated yell. "Louis did the same thing when I told him what happened! As if that could be at all his fault! It's absolutely insane!" She folded her arms over her chest and let out a frustrated huff.

Seamus flinched inwardly at Lavender's sudden rise in volume, but he didn't falter on the outside. "I could blame you if you'd like," he said uncertainly, using his free arm to run it nervously through his hair. "I see how that thing that went on was both of your faults, but," he admitted, "mostly yours." His eyes had finally adjusted to the darkness, and he turned to get his first good look at Lavender. "Oohh," he moaned sadly, resisting the urge to brush her hair out of her face.

Lavender gave a weak sort of smile. "I guess that's what I want to hear. I just wish Louis had said it. I wish he had yelled at me and told me I'm terrible. He didn't deserve this." Her tears had finally stopped, maybe he eyes just ran out of tears. She wiped her hand under her eyes, positive she was smearing mascara and eyeliner all over.

"What's done is done," he said simply. "You'll forget about it soon. It's just another boyrfriend, just another heartbreak. Trust me, I would know," he smiled at her, even if she couldn't see it, "except for the boyfriend part, of course."

"That's what's confusing me even more! He didn't even break up with me! What the hell am I suppose to do? I don't see how he could possible want to be with me any more, and I think the implications of me cheating on him would make it obvious, but I don't know if he still considers us dating. This is all so stupid. I want to leave. Leave the castle for good." She sighed deeply.

It took all his might not to burst out with, "Don't go!" and to, instead, say, "Maybe he does want you back. Maybe he just needed a bit of time to think. Maybe," he gulped, "you should go and try to make up with him. Talk it through. If he likes you enough, he'll take you back." For some reason, he couldn't help but ask, "Would you go back out with him if he said he still wanted you?"

Lavender was exhausted, she slouched against his shoulder. "I don't know. He doesn't deserve me. He deserves someone smarter and someone that will be faithful to him. I don't know how he'd be able to even look at him without thinking about what I did. Could you do that Seamus? Could you take a girl back if she betrayed your trust?" She looked up at him, even though she couldn't really see his face.

"The idea would haunt me for a while," he admitted, "but I would take her back. In fact," he blushed slightly, "I'd probably be the one to go back to her, ask her if she still liked me. Probably even ask her to take me back. I'd think she was the one who didn't like me, since she cheated."

Lavender stared. "That's crazy. I wouldn't even want to look at someone if they did that to me. I really can't believe this is happening! Why the hell did I get myself into this? This sucks." She sighed into his shoulder and was starting to feel drowsy from all the crying she had done in the last couple hours.

Seamus leaned his head on hers. He couldn't believe he was telling her to try to give it another shot, but he knew better by now than to tell her how he really felt. "Things happen," he whispered, half to himself. "Go to him the next chance you get. See if he'll take you back."

Lavender shook her head "I can't do that. I can't go begging for him to forgive me. I don't know, maybe it's best if he do just break up. Every time I look at him, I'm going to feel terrible. I'm only going to think of how much I hurt him. This is probably best for him too."

Seamus felt a sudden, guilty wave of relief. "Whatever makes you happy," he muttered to her faint figure, putting his hand in her lap in a failed attempt to put it on her hand. "Do you feel better?"

Lavender gave a humorless laugh. "Not even a little. But thank you for being here Seamus. I don't deserve someone like you in my life. I'm sure this is probably all hard for you to hear too. I'm sorry."

He firgured she'd say that. "I'm sure you'll feel better once you get some sleep. And trust me, I'm fine. It really doesn't bug me." False. "And I'll always be here, no matter what. Didn't I already tell you that?"

"Still probably doesn't make it any less hard for you." She pulled away from his shoulder and sat straight. "I think I'll sleep here. I have no motivation at all to get all the way back up to the common room. I don't really want to be around a whole lot of people right now anyways."

He couldn't help but ask, "Do you want me to stay with you?"

Lavender thought about it for a long while, then sighed. "Maybe until I fall asleep?" She wasn't going to admit she wanted someone there to make her feel safe. "It won't take long and you don't have to stay after that. I mean, you don't have to stay at all if you don't want." She bit her lip.

"Of course I'll stay!" he said, a little too enthusiastically. "Wait," he pulled out his wand once more and magicked a blanket onto Lavender, not sure how she would've felt if he'd put it on the both of them. "There," he sighed, settling into a smoother part of the wall, knowing that he'd most likely stay the whole night.

Lavender gave a little smile at his eagerness. "Right. Thanks Seamus. I don't know how you always seem to find me when I'm at my worse, but thanks." She pulled her wand out from her boot and magicked the bench to be longer. She then laid down and instantly fell into a deep sleep.

Seamus sat there in the ringing silence for what seemed like hours, listening as Lavender's breathing began to grow shallow. Hitting the replay button from the last several minutes, he, too, closed his eyes and fell asleep.

James, still holding Parvati's hand, let her out to the hallway and walked with an excited pace. When he spotted a hidden alcove ahead of him, he led her right to it and then glanced around to make sure no one saw them. "Alright," he said. He reached into his school robes pocket and took out the golden object on the long string. "I'm not sure what it does," he said, looking at it with a curious expression. "McGonagall just had it sitting on this shelf thing," he shrugged.

Parvati followed close behind James and stepped close to him when he took the shiny thing out of his pocket. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked down at the shiny necklace looking thing in his hands. "Huh. I've never seen something like it." She said looking at it curiously. "It looks kind of like a necklace." She said with a small nod. "But I mean who would wear a necklace that was that long? I mean look how long the chain is. We could probably both wear it at the same time and not have to worry about being choked." She said with a light laugh as she reached her hand up and brushed her hair out of her face so it was behind her ear.

"I know, that's exactly what confused me when I saw it," he said with a small shrug. "I mean, do you think it even does anything? I'm not sure if it does something or not, but I figured it looked interesting enough." He toyed with the long chain, wondering why McGonagall would have the object on one. Placing it around his neck, he noted that it fell pretty low, then with a slightly mischievous grin, he gently pulled her closer and draped it around her neck as well. "Yep, definitely long enough for the both of us," he said. "Though, we need to be standing real close," he said, their bodies flush against each others. "Not that I mind," he said, dropping his forehead onto hers.
