"Okay! Deal." he said and stepped back into the water. "It's the stuff near the top of the water that looks like this." he said and found a piece of it and picked it up. "See?" He asked with a smile. "I just need a few more pieces and I am good to go...There just isn't that much around here."

Hannah nodded, thinking that it couldn't really be that hard. Water lettuce did look exactly like real lettuce. Peering back into the water, though, everything seemed to be green and blend in. Neville must have a lot of patience. "So, how were your holidays?"

"They were pretty good." he said, grabbing a piece of lettuce and smiling at it. "I went home and stayed with my Grandmum and we visited my parents a few times." He said nodding. "I went and visited Audrey too." he said, not really thinking when he said it about how Hannah didn't know about him and Audrey's relationship. "How were yours? Were you sick for the Holidays or were you better by then?"

"I got better half way through, thank God. I don't know what I would have done if I'd missed them all." Hannah said, frowning when he mentioned Audrey. He went to visit Audrey and not her? "That sounds good," She said, smiling, "Why were you at Audrey's? I didn't even know you two were that close."

"Oh, Ummm, Errmm.." he said looking around for lettuce frantically and trying to avoid making eye contact with her. "Well, Audrey and I kind of have started dating...Just before winter break." He said awkwardly.

"Oh, that's great, Nev!" Hannah told him, not really sure how she felt about it at all, "I'm happy for you." That, at least, was true. He deserved a girlfriend more than anyone she knew, and as long as he was happy, she would be happy for him. Still, she couldn't help feeling a twinge of jealousy. They had been best friends forever, she was probably just worried that he'd ditch her, is all. "So, how did this happen? Tell me all about it."

Neville smiled at her and looked over at her. "Well, We just met one day and talked and we kind of became friends and then we went on a double date with Dean and yeah, it has just kind of progressed from there." he said nodding and began looking for more lettuce.

Hannah was beginning to seriously regret getting sick. How could she miss something as big as this? "That's amazing, Nev." She looked up and caught his eye, smiling, "Much more fun than I had, believe me." She looked back down into the water and spotted some lettuce, "Aha, found one." She picked it up and, "Catch!" was all the warning Neville got before she tossed it to him.

Neville smiled and nodded and grinned as she said she found one. He looked up at her just right as she said catch and let out a small scream type thing and he scrambled to catch it. He failed but grabbed it just as it hit the water and smiled at her. "Well, Thanks for the warning." He said with a light laugh. "I think this should be enough for your sandwich and my studies." He said with a smile.

Hannah put her hands on her hips, "That was plenty of warning. I could have caught it." She stepped back out of the lake and pulled out her wand to dry herself off, "You know, I think just buying the stuff would be faster. And drier." She smiled, slipping her shoes back on, "So, what now?"

"Well, you see, if I just bought the stuff, I wouldn't have proof that it was fresh without chemicals." he said nodding seriously as he also dried himself on and slipped his sneakers back on. "Well, do you want to go to the kitchens for lunch or something?"

Both the kitchens are in use... one by me. Hehe. Great hall?

Post  Claire McCann January 21st 2011, 1:41 am

Claire walked down to the dock by the lake with a book in hand. She had been bored the last couple of days what with James being up in the hospital wing with Parvati and her sister being busy with she didn't know what. Suddenly, Claire fell off the dock and drowned.

She died.

Moaning Myrtle can have a new bff? They can play 'who drowns first in their tears' only Claire will win because she already drowned. And then Myrtle can cry some more because she just can't win at anything.

Post  Fleur Delacour - Inactive January 31st 2011, 11:30 pm

Fleur left the castle intending to take a stroll across the grounds, but the area surrounding the lake was rather crowded, so she quickly headed for the abandoned dock by the lake. She glanced around for anyone that might see her before she took off her shoes and sat down at the edge, dangling her legs. She let her toes graze the water's surface and smiled, perfectly content.

Post  Bill Weasley - Inactive February 1st 2011, 12:01 am

Bill walked out to the dock while putting up his long ginger hair in a ponytail. He arrived at the dock and noticed a girl sitting on the edge. Wow, she looks beautiful. Bill thought to himself as he stared at the blonde girl. Bill started fiddling with his fang earring on his right ear. He decided staring without saying something was disrespectful and thus decided to speak up. "Hello there." Bill said as he moved over next to the girl.

Post  Fleur Delacour - Inactive February 1st 2011, 12:06 am

Fleur hadn't heard anyone else behind her, not that she was listening intently anyway. She had only wanted to find somewhere peaceful where she could think and she didn't need to be on her guard once she found it. However, she turned abruptly when she heard someone's voice behind her. She was surprised to see a rather good looking boy uncommon for gingers and smiled. Part of her hoped that her Veela charm hadn't lured him over to her and that this was a genuine greeting. "Bonjour," she said pleasantly, "Care to sit?" She gestured to the spot on the dock beside her before gazing back out at the lake.

Fleur didn't mind at all. Or at least, not right now anyway. It would depend on how the conversation went. "No, I don't mind. Ze grounds are meant for all students. Eet would be wrong for me to deny you a place to sit," she replied, fiddling with the ends of her hair as she glanced over at him. "Mais oui, je parle francais. Je viens de France. Vous voyez, je suis allée à l'Académie Beauxbâtons."

Bill sat back on the dock with hands behind him. He started fiddling with his fang earring again. "Yes. I can tell from your accent." Bill chuckled softly as he stared out to the lake. It was a beautiful day. A sudden thought popped in to Bill's mind and Bill jumped a bit. "Oh! I just realized that I haven't introduced myself! How rude of me!" Bill stuck out his right hand towards the french girl. "I'm Bill Weasley."

Fleur quirked a brow in confusion as she watched the male twirl a fang earring. It was peculiar, but it set him apart from the others that had tried to converse with her before. She flushed when he brought up her accent and was slightly embarrassed that she had thought it was a real question. The British could be so confusing. She stared at his outstretched hand and smiled softly, slipping her petite hand in his. "Eet ees a pleazzure to meet you, Bill Weasley," she said, biting her lower lip out of nervous habit. "My name ees Fleur Delacour."

Bill shaked Fleur's soft hand and smiled. "Une belle nom pour une fille magnifique." Bill worried that he was coming on a little too strong. He didn't even quite know what was making him hit on this girl.
