"Thanks, though I would never want to burden you like that," Arthur says, because he doesn't want Molly to feel obligated to feed him. His insides begin to squirm with nervous excitement as Molly took a sip of champagne with the strawberry; somehow, the combination of the two just made her even sexier, if possible. "Honestly, I could live off of strawberries that -" Arthur starts, but he stops himself before he says something that Molly shouldn't hear.

Molly pauses, the strawberry still at her lips because she'd just been biting into it when Arthur's words sink in. She tilts her head to the side thoughtfully, moving the strawberry away in the process. She doesn't think anybody has ever said that to her before; that they didn't want her to feel obligated to do things for them. Sure, everybody thanks her, everybody is grateful it seems, but Arthur may be the first person who has basically said he expects to look after himself. Somehow it makes her want to be there for him all the more. She smiles, but before she can tell him any of this a quizzical look creeps into her eyes. "You like strawberries, too? I, like, freaking love them! I could live off them too!"

Arthur stutter nervously, grateful Molly did not catch his flub. "Oh, strawberries, I love them; they're delicious," he says as he quickly shoves the strawberry he's been with into mouth. Not that strawberries weren't good, grant you, but the girl eating them from across from him was quite delicious herself. "I love all kinds of foods. But you probably figured that out already." Arthur takes a quick gulp of champagne, almost choking on the bubble, but stopping himself quickly.

Molly looks away, pressing her lips together to hold back a laugh as Arthur almost chokes himself. Luckily, growing up with two brothers and Alice, she's no stranger to questionable table manners. She starts looking at the containers to see what else they've got for dessert. "Ooh, fresh cream!" she says brightly, because Mya is pretty sure Ted would have put as many sexy foods in as possible because he's cheeky like that. She grabs another strawberry and dips it in, generously coating it with cream. "Well I think it's, like, totally awesome that you're not a picky eater and stuff," she tells Arthur. "Because that gets so frustrating! Like, how could I cook all these awesome things if someone is just going to be all 'ew I don't like that!'?"

Arthur really wishes that he hadn't told Ted that he had free rein with the food prep; of the course the evil bastard would put everything type of food in it that Molly would sexy eating. Arthur smiles at Molly nervously. "No, I'll pretty much eat anything. Well, it has to be edible and food item, but beyond that I'm not that picky." Arthur absentmindedly dips his fingers in the whipped cream, licking it slowly going finger by finger.

Molly is momentarily speechless, watching Arthur lick whipped cream from his fingers. She feels the heat creeping up within her and to cover her sudden loss of cool she quickly slips the cream-covered strawberry into her mouth. A dollop of cream sticks to her lip, so Molly chases it with her thumb and deftly licks that clean, too. She smiles again, almost bashful. "Well I guess those are, like, pretty good rules to set for what you will and won't eat," she finally says.

*Arthur is also dead. Seriously, he's been an excited, horny, nervous wreck these past few days.*

Arthur watches Molly blush with a mix of shock and confusion, not sure what he had done to merit that type of reaction. Then she begins to eat the cream again, and Arthur feels a matching blush creep up his cheeks. "Oh. yeah, food is good," Arthur says without much thought about it. He grabs a random strawberry, dipping into the champagne and the whipped cream because he really isn't thinking about what he's doing. He eats it, deciding the combination of the three is quite tasty.

[Molly has been put into a cone of silence for the comfort of me and everyone else in my head.]

Molly tilts her head to the side, feeling a twinge of relief as Arthur blushes too because that clearly means it's alright for her to have blushed. She watches, twirling a strand of almost-dry hair around her finger as he dips a strawberry in the champagne and then into the cream and tastes it. "Ooh how did that taste?" she wonders. "Did it, like, mix right? I've totally never tried that before." She leans in to snag another strawberry, dunking it in what's left of her champagne and then dipping it in the cream too. She glances up at Arthur, shrugs, and pops it in her mouth. "Mmm," she says, bringing her fingers to her lips in that way most people do when they really feel the need to say something even though they know it's rude to talk with your mouth full. "That's, like, so good!"

"It is!" Arthur saying, dipping another strawberry like that and slowly savoring his accidental creation. "The only thing that could be better is if there was chocolate." He begins to search through the other containers before finding one filled with chunk chocolate with a label, reading, "Heat and serve. Enjoy!" Arthur pulls out his wand, gently heating the chocolate until it melted. He then grabs a strawberry, dips in champagne, and then coats one side with whipped cream and the other with chocolate. He pops in in his mouth, savoring the combination of delicious flavors.

Molly blinks. Ted is an evil genius. She tries not to giggle too much as she grabs another strawberry and, deciding to skip the champagne and the cream this time, coats it liberally in melted chocolate. "It's, like, my favourite," she says by way of explanation. "Oh, no!" she laughs, as when she lifts the strawberry to her lips the melted chocolate, still runny, dribbles down her fingers and splatters onto the rest of the strawberries. "Oops," she giggles, and eats her strawberry before grabbing a napkin to wipe the parts of her fingers she can't lick clean.

*Arthur is dying after over a day of hibernation. He really missed Molly and reallywantstolickthechocolateoffmollysfingers. He's also annoyed that I have interrupted the typing of this post twice to text a boy.*

Arthur watches Molly spill the chocolate on the strawberries. He grabs a napkin and hands it to her. Her hand is warm and chocolately, and Arthur blushes slightly. He quickly lets her hand go though, and hurriedly shoves one of the chocolate splattered strawberries in his mouth. Ted had to an evil genius, sitting and stalking the picnic in order to wait for the right opportunity to mess with Arthur's head.

Molly smiles gratefully as she accepts the napkin, her hand lingering for a few seconds after Arthur pulls away, missing the warmth of the contact. She cleans her hand and drops the dirtied napkin to the side. She wrinkles her face in thought, looking around. "Whydoyoulikeme?" she blurts, surprising herself with her bluntness. It's just occurred to her, how little it makes sense to her that sweet, sincere, clever Arthur Weasley likes loud, flippant, flighty Molly Prewett. Maybe it's just a touch of lingering trepidation after things with Kingsley fell apart, but Molly can't help but think there must be more suitable girls than she to deserve Arthur's attentions.

Wow. I have no idea where that came from, but Inner!Molly just freaked out.

Arthur's mouth immediately opens, the half-chewed strawberry falling to the ground. He looks at Molly in complete shock. "Well, you're really nice. And you love your famil and you always take care of everyone. You're also really pretty and have an amazing smile and beautiful laugh. I really like you because...because...because you're you," Arthur says quickly, blushing vividly. "Why do like me? I mean, why are you here with me? You are too amazing for me."

[Yay! I like the sound of this boy! Sorry! I got pulled away for stuffs!]

Molly doesn't even notice the half-chewed strawberry falling to the ground, she's so wrapped up in Arthur's response. By the time he's finished, her face is burning brightly. Without thinking, she leans in and kisses his cheek very lightly. "I'm here because you asked me," she says simply, "And you're you. You say the nicest things anybody has ever said to me, and you're sweet and you care about stuff and you're, like, clever and I don't even know why, ok? It's like I never even thought of saying no or something."

{It's okay. Boy is very good. And I'll be on and off the rest of the night because I have homework that has been neglected because of boy texting.}

Arthur feels very flattered by Molly's words and smiles back brightly. When she kisses his cheek, however, he blushes even brighter than before, his face frozen in an expression of shock and pure joy. "Th...thanks," Arthur stutters nervously. He tries to kiss Molly's cheek, but he is too nervous and instead misses, the kiss landing on her mouth. Arthur quickly pulls back, his face in his hands, completely mortified at his stupidity.

Molly's face lights up purely from the look on Arthur's face. Because she has never, ever seen someone quite so happy just to be with her before and it's the most amazing feeling Molly has ever experienced. She smiles as he moves in to kiss her, but when his mouth lands on hers for only a moment before he pulls back she feels the disappointment well within her. It was over so quickly, and now he's sitting there like it was the most horrible experience of his life and she hasn't even had a chance to kiss him back to prove otherwise! Molly frouts to herself, feeling like she's just missed the opportunity of a lifetime. Not one to let that slide, Molly moves, knocking Arthur's forearms so that his face is no longer hidden. Replacing his hands with her own, she pulls him close and presses her mouth firmly to his.

{That's fine. Arthur...well, it's difficult to squeal silently because your roommate is sleeping.}

Arthur is wallowing in his idiocy; Molly must think he's a moron now, probably frightened of him too. In the middle of his private pity party, Molly moves his arms away and kisses him. He's is in shock; he has kissed girls before, but nothing quite like this. Molly, well she's bolder than the other girls he dated, less uncertain; she knows what she wants, and well, she's going to get it. Arthur relaxes, kissing Molly back.

Molly does indeed know what she wants, and right now she's got it. She relaxes a little, dropping her hands from Arthur's face as he responds, and smiles into the kiss. This is much better than the previous peck, it feels like coming home somehow.

Arthur grabs Molly's hands because that seems like a nice thing to do while you're kissing, holding hands. Her hands are still chocolately, and Arthur can taste the champagne and chocolate. Her hands are warm, and Arthur feels very relaxed even though his insides are squirming with nervousness.

[Cannot sit still. Cannot explain greaming to colleagues. Do not care. ~flails~]

Her hands intertwine comfortably with Arthur's and Molly lets out a soft sigh of contentment at the warmth between them. The rush of adrenaline, fuelled by the strawberries and chocolate and champagne, makes her feel light-headed and finally she pulls away. Her cheeks are pink, her eyes sparkling. "Well..." She can't think of what to say, which is an achievement in itself.

{it's ok. My brain is just a spazzball of happiness.}

Arthur smiles awkwardly back at Molly, not quite fully comprehending what had just happened. "Yeah..." he says, his brain too full of joyful giddiness to actually form a complete sentence. He gently squeezes Molly's hand. "That was...really nice."

Molly giggles, marvelling that she never quite figured out what post-kissing conversation etiquette is. "It was, like, pretty awesome," she agrees, because it feels like the start of something amazing. She squeezes Arthur's hand back, her free hand reaching for her champagne because she's suddenly somewhat breathless. "Hey, do you want to go out with me?" she blurts. "Again, I mean, like, more often," she adds when she realises the weirdness of asking someone that question in the middle of a date.

"Yes...we should. Please," Arthur stutters, too happy for words. Molly really likes him! Arthur also reaches for his champagne, taking a small sip in the hopes that it would calm his nerves. It doesn't. "I really like spending time with you," he says. Especially time kissing her, Arthur thinks. He is really having fun with though, even before the kissing bit.

Molly is having fun too. She greams. "Good. Because we've got, like, a long way to go before you graduate from toast to two minute noodles," she teases lightly. She settles comfortably on the picnic rug once more, putting a couple of inches between herself and Arthur in the process but refusing to let go of his hand. "I predict many hours of kitchen time ahead," she jokes, although she does want to do different and fun and interesting things with Arthur too.

"I do too," Arthur says with a bright smile. He loves cooking with Molly, but can't wait to take her out to a nice restaurant or something. Maybe if he gets the part-time internship at the Ministry this summer...it's almost no pay, but the little it earns would be enough for some small restaurant in Diagon Alley. Until then, Arthur's creativity knows no bounds. It's like a building project, except without building things and Molly involved.
