After his talk with Regulus, Lucius decided to go for a stroll. He spots Rose and smirks, walking over to her and standing behind her. "Hello there, Rosie. Long time, no see, eh?"

Rose jumps and whirls around, her hair flowing all over the place like BAM BAM. Yeah... "Blimey, you nearly made me fall." She brushes her hair back over her shoulder. "Not nearly long enough, Lucius," she says with a smirk. Weasleys can smirk too.

Of course it's not! This is in no way, shape or form flirting. IF THEY WERE EXTREME FLIRTING THERE WOULD BE TOUCHING. Rose just raises her eyebrows as if to challenge him. She really didn't think he was cleverer than her. Burn.

"You think so?" he asked with another smirk. Without thinking, he reached out and lightly brushed the hair out of her eyes, letting his fingers linger in her hair for a second too long. He pulled his hand away when he realized what he was doing and grabbed a tight hold of his pimp cane. "What sort of homework is it anyway? I imagine you're interesting in muggle studies," he said while rolling his eyes, trying to make up for what he just did to a blood traitor. Luna kicks Lucius and tells him to give in to love, and kissss the girrrrl.

Dee is now imagining Luna as a Jamaican crustacean names Sebastien. Thanks for that. "Actually, it's Arithman-" she pauses and shudders as he pulls his hand away. No, this is wrong. He- he tortured you, Rose. Don't think like that. She doesn't finish her sentence, because she's too busy yelling at herself internally.

"Arithmancy," he finishes quietly. "You know what? I bet you are better at that than me. If a wand isn't involved then I usually don't bother trying too hard," he said with a shrug. Okay, Lucius. Stop being nice to her. Blood traitor, remember? "I only focus on the important classes. Not like I need to. I already learned everything I need to know."

"Huh?" Rose asks, jerking out of her internal battle. "Oh, yes. But what makes you say that? You learn new things every day! You're a bit of a lazyass, you know that? Wait, who am I kidding? Of course you do," she says, grinning.

"Bit cocky, are we? But I suppose that comes with being a Malfoy. I met your cousin, and he wasn't the nicest person in the world," Rose replied with a shrug. "Oh, and Malfoys get great hair, of course." Rose looks out over the edge of the cliff. Why was she being so nice? ~~It was time to jump and put an end to this misery.~~

"Scorpius? I haven't talked to him since the Slytherin party," he says quietly. And it should stay that way. "Great hair? Yes. But you forget to mention the dazzling smile, the sexy abs, and my beautiful eyes," he teases with a grin. "What are you looking at?" he asks curiously as he looks out over the cliff and not at him. Lucius likes people looking at him. It helps his ego.

"Yeah, him," she replies absentmidedly. "Yes, I can't believe I forgot those things," she continues, sparing a quick glance at all of those attributes in turn. She turns back to the water and tells him that's what she is looking at, though she says it in a dull tone, feigning disinterest.

Rose smirks. "You really are a git!" She readjusts herself. Her arse was falling asleep, you see. She lost her grip, and you know, almost fell over the side of the cliff. I really don't know how to describe this...

Lucius rolls his eyes as she calls him a git. He notices her slipping and does the first thing that comes to his mind- He grabs her arms and pulls her up. Because of the quickness of his movements, she ends up pressed against his chest as he saves her life. Wow. Lucius did a good deed. "Are you alright?" he asks, not thinking to push her away because deep down he knows he doesn't want to.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she whispers, looking up at his face because Rosie's a tiny little thing. "Thanks for that," she mutters, turning away again, while trying not to blush. She used to be the Original Blusher. She and Polly should start a club. She couldn't believe he hadn't just let her drop. One less blood traitor clogging his pureblood world. At that thought she pushes away, stumbling backward. It was just too wrong.

Lucius looks down and picks up his pimp cane because he dropped it when he reached out to grab Rose. "Yeah. Well, couldn't just let you fall to your death," he says with a shrug as if it was no big deal.

Rose just shrugs. "It's not a far drop, and I can swim." She examines a scrape on her hand, which the lovely boulder gave to her, trying to avoid Lucius' gaze. Maybe she should jump for real this time and save herself from all this torment. It doesn't seem like a bad idea at the moment, but Rose doesn't move.
