Viktor held Regulus tight and tried not to think about killing Gellert. He promised Reg he wouldn't go there but the anger in his voice was not easy to hide after hearing that. "No- he von't. Regulus, I know I promised you that I vouldn't touch him-- but if he hurts you again I von't let him get avay vith it. You shouldn't have to be afraid to be in your dorm. It's your dorm too and you have every right to feel safe in there."

Regulus shook his head and rested it against Viktor's shoulder. "It makes no difference. He'd find me anyway, even if we didn't share a dormitory. Like I said- I don't think he will, or he'd have already done it," he said sullenly, holding Viktor close. "But I'm still afraid to go there. It's almost always just the two of us, especially since Cormac left. I never see Antonin."

[-cue 'wtf cormac's gone?'-]

Reg's face fell even more, if that was possible, and he curled up in Viktor's arms again. "Oh- I guess I never... I was too caught up in things with Gellert, I suppose, that I never got to speak to you about it. Cormac- he's gone. I don't know for how long. He left Hogwarts. And it's my fault. I feel awful."

Viktor sighed. He really didn't understand how Reg could be friends with someone who kept hurting him. "I'm sure it vosn't all your fault Regulus."

"No, it was. There's no doubt about it- he said it himself. I know I shouldn't feel guilty, because I've done nothing wrong, but still- I feel terrible," he said sadly, kissing Viktor on the cheek. "I didn't tell you before- I needed time to process it myself, first, and I had to deal with it on my own. Viktor, the other day- two weeks ago, or so- Cormac came to talk to me. He... he told me that he loved me," he mumbled, his face flushed with embarrassment. "Then he left, and I just let him walk away. We've talked about it since then. I told him nothing would ever come of if, that I'd never love anyone but you, because I can't, and the two of us will always be together. He said it was too damn much to deal with, and so he said goodbye, and left."

"Oh," he mumbled quietly. "It's still not your fault though. You shouldn't feel so guilty. It vos his choice if he vanted to just leave. He should be the von to feel guilty. It seems like every time you mention him, it's to tell me something bad that he did to you."

Regulus sighed, and hugged Viktor. "This year, yeah, you're right, it has been. But you need to understand- we were best friends before. We did everything together- we got along so well. Then things changed, and I met you, and then things started falling to shit... it doesn't matter. He'll be back. I won't blame myself for this," he said, kissing Viktor on the neck. "I love you, and only you, and that is that."

Viktor smiled and ran his fingers through Regulus' hair. "It'll be fine. You've had problems vith him before and you've been able to vork it out vith him. He'll be back and you two can talk about this."

Regulus nodded and smiled slightly as Viktor ran his hands through Reg's hair the way he used to. "Viktor? I love you. And I'll be eternally grateful for all that you've given me- especially second chances."

Regulus sighed and snuggled up to him, not quite so depressed as he'd been, but still sad. "You're more than I deserve. I love you," he mumbled with a yawn.

Regulus had no words left to say, and settled for pressing his lips hard against Viktor's, throwing his arms around his neck and kissing him deeply, then pulling away to look at him with his silvery eyes, his adoration of the man evident in his face. "I love you too, and I always will."

"Indeed we are," he murmured, gazing into his dark eyes and smiling slightly. "We'll stay together. Forever. I promise. I know we will," he said, determinedly pushing Gellert out of his mind and replacing it with what Djinn had shown him. Again he wondered- what would Viktor say, if Regulus told him what he'd seen? He gets a faraway look in his eyes and stares out at the lake.

Regulus snapped back to reality and kissed him back, smiling happily at him. "Just- I told you a while ago, that Djinn- he showed me some things, about us, before... I was just thinking about how wonderful things can- and will- be," he said quietly, hugging him tightly.

Regulus grinned mischievously, and laughed a little. "I don't know. I don't know what you'd think about some of them, is all- I mean, I know it makes me happy, but it.. I don't know what you'd think," he said, blushing slightly.
