Sirius laughed and grinned at Viktor. "Damn straight! Viktor, thanks. For coming out here. I just... I just needed someone, and I know you'd understand. I'll be alright- it's late, and you need to get rest. Go to bed. Thank you," he mumbled, looking back at Fleur.

Viktor smiled and gave Sirius another hug. "Goodnight Sirius. If you need anything, just send me a note. I'll get here as fast as I can," he said with a small smile. "Everything vill be fine. Just- try to relax."

Sirius nodded and hugged him back, then waved him off. He stays sitting on the bed beside Fleur after he makes sure she's comfortable in her hospital gown and comfy pillows and blankets, and holds her hand tightly, with every intention of staying awake to make sure she's alright.

Fleur hadn't paid much attention to what Sirius said, but she was soothed by the sound of his voice. It was enough to help her drift asleep without falling into the nightmare that was her replaying memory. She squeezed his hand as she slept, curling her legs up beneath the sheets to stay warm. She flinched once when his hand slipped from hers and he left her with Viktor, but she didn't wake. Her breathing had slowed and she finally was relaxing, hoping that the way she had seen herself was ten times worse than how she actually looked. After Viktor had left and Sirius' hand was entwined with hers again, she smiled, for the first time that night, and the side of her face which was unharmed nestled into her pillow. Maybe, when she woke up, she would be in her bed and not in the Hospital Wing and everything would turn out fine. Her free hand moved up the necklace around her neck and she clung to the pendant, her knuckles turning white with fear. She hoped he didn't leave her after seeing what she looked like now.

A few hours pass because Elise says so and Fleur's eyes flutter open. Her hand has markings across the palm from where she held onto the necklace. She stares at Sirius, the pain that had been shooting through her body had been occurring less and less, and she propped the pillow up to lean against when she sat upright. This entire thing had happened. How could she have let this happen to her? Sirius must be incredibly disappointed. Her gaze falls away from him and she bites her lower lip, trying to figure out what to say, "I'm sorry..."

Sirius jolts awake, having dozed off at some point, and smiles softly when he sees that she's able to sit up, but it turns into a frown as he digests her words. "Sorry? What on earth are you sorry for, darling?" he asked with a frown. He moves to sit closer to her on the bed, brushing a strand of hair out of her beautiful, damaged face and gazes into her eyes, wishing with all his heart he could have been a better man, and stopped all of this from ever happening. His eyes fall to the bandages around her arms and body, and he's glad he dressed her in the gown- to look at her so horribly wounded had killed him inside- someone so perfect couldn't possibly deserve this, in fact, he'd be damned if there was any girl who deserved this. He briefly wondered if that stupid shit had done this before, if he'd gotten away with it- the very thought made Sirius sick to his stomach.

Fleur's hand plays with one of the loose bandages on her arm, trying to pinpoint exactly what she was sorry for. Sorry for being stupid. Sorry for being weak. Sorry for being a burden. Sorry for how I look. Sorry for everything. She couldn't bring herself to say any of them, even if she wanted to. Her fingers tangled themselves into a part of the bedsheet, her hand tightening into a small fist, "I'm sorry for 'aving zis 'appen. I'm sorry zat you got 'urt because I was being irresponsible." Her breath hitched in her throat and she swallowed a sob, her grip on the sheet tightening, "Eet's my fault zat you are 'urt from Evan. I am so sorry. I should 'ave been more careful. I should 'ave worn sometheeng else. Eet's my fault. All my fault." Somewhere, she knew this wasn't true, but it seemed to be the only thing that made sense. If she had done one thing differently, this never would have happened.

Sirius had to refrain himself from yelling out 'ARE YOU MAD OR JUST STUPID' because that would be the wrong thing to say, yes it would, and Sirius has slightly- not very much, but a tiny bit- more tact than that. Instead, he leans down and kisses her gently on the lips and smiles kindly at her. "Don't be silly, Fleur. This wasn't your fault, and I'm not that badly hurt, see? I'm all healed up already- you're the one that's hurt. Please, Fleur- please see that this was in no way your fault, it could have happened to any girl- a fact that disturbs me to no end. This was not your fault. Not your fault," he repeated firmly, resting a hand on her shoulder. "Perhaps it would have been a better idea not to venture down there alone- I don't know why you were there. But wearing something else- really, Fleur? That's just... stupid, alright? No matter what you wear, you will always be insanely beautiful, there just isn't any hiding it, at all. You're just as desirable in anything else- there's nothing you could have done, or can do about it- you're simply too beautiful for your own good. The one who is sorry here- that's me. I've let you down. I've failed you, as your partner- as your protector. This- this shouldn't have happened. I should have been by your side, I should have been there to keep you safe- mark my words, I'll be damned if I let you out of my sight anytime soon. I'm not letting you go anywhere without me, or Viktor, or someone I trust to protect you. I refuse to let this happen again. I refuse. This- this bastard- this sick bastard- he'll pay for this. You did not deserve this. This was not your fault."

Fleur knew better than to argue with Sirius, despite what she believed. The things Evan had said echoed in her mind and she tried to force them out. She should dress like a nun. She should wear a giant veil. She should never, ever dress like she had before. Her hand moved over the bruising on her face, thinking about what Sirius said being desirable or beautiful. It couldn't be true about her anymore. She didn't want to see her own face; too frightened, "I was zere because I went out with Dominique and Parvati 'ad sent me a note. I didn't want to make Dom leave, she was 'aving fun at ze 'Og's 'Ead. So, I left and went back to ze castle by myself..." Her voice trailed off and she hid her face in her hands, "I am stupid. Je marchais de retour avec Dom. Je suis stupide. Il m'a ruiné. Je suis hideux. Why do you stay?" She asked, looking over at him, "Do you not see what 'as 'appened to me?" A bubble of anger rose in her throat when he said he had failed, "NO!" She yelled and she flung her arms around his neck, ignoring the pain that shot up her back, "No. You did not fail. You cannot say zat. No. Eet's not true and you must know it. You 'ave not failed me. No." At the mention of being escorted everywhere, Fleur did not object. She did not want to walk anywhere alone. She held onto Sirius tightly when Evan came into the conversation. It didn't matter that his name wasn't said since anything associated with him sent her into an automatic freak out mode. She let go of Sirius and pulled away, shaking her head repeatedly as the memories of Evan's face, the smug look as he had her pressed against the wall, and she wrapped her arms around her legs, resting her forehead on her knees, "Don't. Mention. No. Don't."

Sirius was shocked by her outburst but held her close, not ignorant of her obvious pain. He slowly lets her go and finds a pain-killing potion for her to drink, and pours it into a small glass, handing it to her. "It'll help, alright? Trust me, I'd know- been in this place too damn often myself," he said with a bitter laugh, before turning his gaze back to Fleur. "Why do I stay? You- you really are stupid," he said incredulously, but not in a harsh manner. "Fleur, did you forget what I said, when I told you I loved you? Did you think that I didn't mean it? There's a reason I waited so long to say those words, Fleur- unlike some people, they actually mean something to me. I love you, Fleur Delacour, and I would never leave your side, no matter if you were 'ruined' or 'hideous' or any of those things- not that you are. Because you're not. You're every bit as beautiful, lovable, and desirable as you've ever been- you're just hurt right now, that's all. You'll be all better in no time, okay? I've put dittany on, you won't have a single scar, or anything- and even if you did, you would still be the most beautiful woman this world has ever beheld, except perhaps Remus' daughter," he said with a small smile. "And even that's a close call." He sighed as she began to grow anxious again, and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright, we don't have to talk about it, okay? You're safe. I'm not leaving your side, ever. I'll do whatever it takes to make you feel alright again."

Fleur waited until the memory disappeared back into the depths of her mind that she rarely looked into. She took the glass from him and sipped it, cringing a bit at the taste. Her index finger moved along the rim of the glass after she finished taking the potion for a moment before she set it on the bedside table. The pain drifted away after a few moments, as if it had never been there, and she sighed in relief. Her eyes met his as he spoke, unsure of how to respond to everything he was saying. She let it sink in as she gradually gained her ability to speak once more. Everything seemed more difficult to digest. She knew he meant everything he had told her, there was no question about it, but her heart still ached and she couldn't bare it if she saw what she looked like. She wanted to never see Evan in the halls or even see pictures of that hallway. She never wanted to wear her dress again and she wanted to be obliviated. To forget everything, "Sirius..." She flinched at the hand on her shoulder, still adjusting to everything, "I - I don't - I love you too, but I don't...I don't know what to do. I 'ave no idea what 'ow to feel. 'Ow to stop eet from coming back when I try to sleep. What will I do when I see 'im? If I see 'im? I'm - I'm afraid." She bit her lip, her voice slightly shaky. She closed her eyes, "I don't ever want to remember. I want eet to go away."

Sirius sighed and kissed her gently on the forehead, smiling at her kindly. "Don't you worry. There's no need to be afraid- I am here now. I will hold you, and I will love you, and I will protect you, and he'll never come near you again. I'm strong enough- you know that- I sent him running, without lifting my wand. You have nothing to fear, Fleur- you're safe with me. I won't leave you alone, no matter what happens. If I can't be with you every moment of the day, somebody else will be- somebody I know and trust with my life, and yours, and that I know is strong enough to protect you- probably Viktor, in most cases. I can depend on him. You do not need to be afraid, Fleur, I'm with you. And I'm not going anywhere. And you will be alright, I promise," he said sternly, resting his hand on hers. "I know you want it to go away, and forget- but you can't. If you forgot, can you imagine, this happening again? No. I won't erase it from your mind- it would be worse. But I'll stand by you. You don't need to think about it right now. You don't. I'm here now, and you have nothing to fear, because I love you."

A silver bear runs into the hospital wing and stops in front of Sirius. It opens it's mouth and speaks in Viktor's voice, "Sirius. I'm in the Dungeon corridor. I need your help. Now"

Fleur smiled, successfully growing more relaxed when Sirius explained that she wouldn't have to be alone. The idea of walking or being anywhere by herself made her insides tangle and twist with one another. Sirius would be able to keep...Him at bay. He wouldn't touch her if she had someone with her. He couldn't and He wouldn't. The idea comforted her and her smile became more genuine and less tense, "Een ze long run, eet will be better zat I remember everytheeng..." she sighed and closed her eyes, trying to see how things would be if she never remembered. It didn't seem at all pleasant and she moved back over to Sirius, feeling a little lame in her hospital gown, "Zank you, for putting up with me even when you...when you didn't 'ave to. I love you too. More zen I'll ever let you know, probably." She saw the silver bear enter the Hospital Wing and her eyes widened. Her smile turned into a frown when she heard what Viktor had to say, realizing that Sirius would have to leave. No, don't be selfish. Viktor wouldn't do this unless it was of extreme importance. Fleur turned to Sirius and kissed him on the cheek, whispering in his ear, "You 'ave to go to 'im. I'll be fine. I know zat you said you wouldn't leave me alone, but I can't let my fear keep you from 'elping your friend. Please, go."

Sirius looked at the bear patronus in shock, hardly processing Fleur's words. "But- shit- what the hell could have- Fleur, I can't just leave you here, I can't- NURSE JOEL! NURSE JOEL!" Sirius ran from the ward into the main hospital, grabbing the man roughly by the arm. "Don't let her out of your sight. I don't care what you need to do- keep her safe," he said, beginning to panic; he knew his friend, he never would ask for help unless he truly needed it, and certainly not by patronus. He ran back to Fleur, kissing her hard on the lips. "I don't know what's happened- obviously- I'll be back- I love you- thank you- you'll be safe- I love you!" Sirius runs from the hospital wing, sprinting towards the dungeons, drawing his wand as he ran.

Fleur watched as Sirius frantically sped off to the main hospital and grabbed Nurse Joel, a man whom Fleur had seen many times before. She lifted one arm and gave him a small wave, not sure how to react to Sirius' panicking. Honestly, she couldn't figure out who would harm her in the Hospital Wing to begin with, especially when she was hiding in the Private Ward. She leaned back in slight surprise when Sirius kissed her and couldn't help but laugh for a second. Maybe even less than a second because her worries automatically returned to Viktor. She kissed him back quickly, and smiled, "I love you too. I'll be fine, I know. Go." She sat, tangled in her bedsheets, and picked at the loose threads as she watched him leave the ward.
