Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Ah. Well, I guess that makes two people at Hogwarts that'd rather spend the night in a library," he said, slightly more cheered up, knowing he wasn't entirely alone in his lack of fun-ness. "And can you really picture me doing anything resembling fun!? Why, that's preposterous," he said, chuckling slightly, and brightening a little at seeing her smile at him. "And really, your reputation because of your book choices? What else does anyone expect an intelligent, pureblood Slytherin woman to read, about unicorns and pygmy puffs? You're doing exactly what you should be, if anything, you're living up to your reputation, delving into such things," he observed.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Pansy nodded, as she'd felt the same way about it. It was normal, and if anything her book on crucio could be explained as simply research. It wasn't like she was planning to use it on someone. "I think he's just worried because of who are parents are." She sighed. "I don't want to be judged by what my parents have done, and I think he's worried that would happen the instant someone saw me reading some of the books I've had. I suppose it's living up to the reputation that he was trying to help me avoid." She glanced down at the book in front of her before returning her gaze back to Sev, not sure if he'd understand where she was coming from. She saw the life her parents led, and she wasn't interested in it. She wanted something better.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Ah, I see," he said, sitting back and looking at her in a contemplative silence for some time, before speaking again. "The question is, is it the kind of reputation you want? It's not about what he thinks of it, or what others think about it, it's about how you want the world to see you, Pansy. I for one couldn't care less how the world sees me, obviously, or I wouldn't do half the things I do. What's more important to me than fitting in is doing what I do best, so I can make something of myself later; by not wasting time on my reputation at school, I build the skills now that I'll need to acquire the reputation I want later. But we're different people, obviously, so it's up to you-- what do you want to be, and do you care if people see you for what you are?"

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"If people see me for what I am..." She pondered on that. What was she? Who was she trying to be right now? She knew she was changing things, attempting to be truly herself and no longer the pureblood daughter her mother had spent her whole life trying to create, but who was Pansy Delia Parkinson? She wasn't sure. "I.. I don't know who I am though. How can I worry about people seeing who I am when I don't even know?" She groaned, rubbing her eyes with her fingers for a moment. "Sorry to go all deep on you. Things have been weird for me lately, deciding between what I want to do and what my mother's been pushing me to do for seventeen years. I don't want to be the perfect little pureblood daughter she's trying to make me. I don't want my parents to pick out my husband from a list of wealthy spoiled brat suitors, and I don't want to just get married and say that's that and settle down and pop out an heir and then wander my house for the rest of my life. I can't be like my mother."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
Severus smiled at that, really smiled, and had to almost resist the urge to lean over and hug Pansy-- thanks, Ashley, do we see where this is going? DO WE SEE? IT WAS ALWAYS INEVITABLE. I BET YOU, IF THERE IS A 3.0, IT WILL HAPPEN THERE TOO. "I don't mind you 'going all deep,' so don't you worry, I like listening, if it'll help you. But really," he said, pausing as he re-examined her, "that's nice, that you don't want to be like that, like the rest of them. That you want to be different from your family, that you wanna make something better of yourself. Because I know I don't know you that well, but I know it'd be a waste of intelligence and talent, for you to spend your life in a manor, wandering aimlessly, never putting any of this," he said, gesturing at all the books around them, "to use."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Pansy smiled at him, and if she'd been a Puff or someone who blushed at compliments, she probably would have. But she wasn't a blushing sort of girl, and she just glanced down a little shyly. I see where this is going, and of course it's happening again. Apparently Poor Sev can't help it and Pansy isn't even aware of it, yet again. Some things never change. "Thanks, Sev. I just can't honestly see myself happy with a life like that, married to the son of some Death Eater, or someone who's a Death Eater himself, just content to stay at home and be a good little wife. I don't see it happening. I want to travel the world. I just want to go wherever I feel like going, stay there a few weeks until I'm bored, and pick somewhere new. Live in a hole in the wall. Get money from odd jobs." She shrugged, smiling again. "Just seems like fun. Something I've wanted to do since I was a kid, just because it was so outlandish and I'm pretty sure my mother would disown me if I ever did it. Which makes it all the more fun."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Of course, playing the rebel has always been enticing, to someone like you, I imagine. I mean that as a compliment, by the way, in case that sounded odd," he clarified, still smiling at her, and this must be the apocalypse, because even EOWYN hasn't really smiled today. "That sounds exhilirating. Not the life I could ever lead, but an interesting and exciting one to imagine, all the same. One that suits you, I feel, given your personality. I just hope you don't let anyone hold you back."

WEIRDNESS.
"Oh, I won't. I'm going no matter what anyone says. No matter who I have to leave at home or who has to tag along. I'm going to do it." She nodded and reached into her bag, pulling out a small leatherbound notebook, opening it and flipping a few pages until she stopped on a long list. "See? I've already written some places I want to go!" She showed it to him, which was strange because Pansy's never shown this list to anybody before.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Severus glanced at her list curiously, then handed it back to her, rather intrigued. "So many places! So much knowledge to be gained, experiencing so many different cultures, I envy you, I'll admit, if you do get to visit all of them. If I were you, I'd keep my heart set on going, and find my way to all of these countries, no matter what it took. Imagine the person you'll be once, you've done all of this," he said rather excitedly, letting his imagination run wild.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Exactly!" Her excitement for the plan was obvious. There wasn't much to keep her tied back here, to Hogwarts or home around it, and she knew she wouldn't be satisfied unless she went. She pulled open her bag again to put the book back inside, only to have a little white bunny hop out. How perfect of a coincidence since Sev has missed the bunnies. "Oh, I thought I got rid of all of you!" She picked up the little bunny, cradling it in her hands and looking at it sternly. "Now when I made you guys, I was bored. And then the rest of your little brothers and sister went away without a problem. You just had to stick around didn't you." She laughed, shaking her head at the little bunny, setting him back down on the table as she reached into her bag again in pursuit of her wand.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG BUNNIES I LOVE YOU I LOVE BUNNIES LOVE SO MUCH LOVE FOR THAT POST.
... Shut up, inner Snape, no, this isn't the origins of 1.0, just because there are bunnies does not mean you get Pansy kisses.
Severus' eyes went wide as-- yes, that's definitely a bunny, hopping out of Pansy's bag. "Er, I'm sorry, am I delirious, or are you holding a little white bunny? Because either I'm hallucinating, or that is, in fact, a little rabbit, who is quite frankly adorable," he said, staring in confusion at the bunny andwondering why Pansy isn't snogging him when there are bunnies.
I'll be posting sporadically, I need to write this paper, and I'm currently starting to have an argument with long dead Greek poets out loud, so it may be a sign that four hours of sleep wasn't enough.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. That's fine, I'm getting some last minute work done so I'm in and out really.
Pansy turned to look at Sev after finally having located her wand, holding it up to vanish the bunny. "Hm? Oh, yes. It's a bunny, you're not crazy. I charm up little bunnies when I'm bored." She shrugged, holding the little white fluffball out to Sev. "He is rather cute. Maybe I shouldn't vanish him." She pondered the little bunny for a minute, but definitely wasn't intending on giving Sev any kisses any time soon because bunnies do not equal kisses in 2.0, not even if they were sitting in the corner of the hallway all sad and heartbroken and depressed together right now.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Severus, you should know, is determined to find a way to recreate that scene, in hopes that you are lying through your teeth and if such a situation were to occur again, there might perhaps be Pansy kisses. As for now, though, he reaches out and takes the bunny, tilting his head to the side as he scrutinized it in silence, before breaking out into a wide smile. "It's adorable! Don't vanish it, it's sweet. We should name it instead, let it stick around. Goodness knows this school needs less cats and rats, and more bunnies, they're obviously so much higher on the cute scale," he said, tickling the bunny behind the ears. "It's a perfectly adorable fluff ball."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Pansy doesn't know how she feels about that. She smiled when he took the bunny and studied it, suggesting they keep it as a pet instead and name it, bursting out in laughter as he tickled the bunny and called it a perfectly adorable fluff ball because the mental image is just too brilliant not to laugh at of a teenage Alan Rickman Severus Snape tickling a bunny and calling it that. "Well, we could keep him if you like. What do you want to name him?" She rested her chin in her hand with her elbow propped on the table, reaching over to rub the bunny's little twitchy nose with her fingertip.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
I JUST REREAD MY POST IN ALAN RICKMAN'S VOICE. DYING. Severus couldn't help but laugh as well and shrugged, putting the bunny down on the table and allowing it to hop around happily. "I haven't the slightest idea, Pansy. I know! I know! Prince(ss) Froggie Pancake Flowers, the Bolar Slayer! Have you got any ideas? And is it a boy or a girl? I'm not checking," he remarked, grimacing at the thought. "Unless, of course, our bunny is a lovely, special intersex rabbit. Then we'd have to go with something androgynous like Sam or Cuddles, but please, let's NOT name this thing cuddles. Something more menacing, perhaps? You never know, maybe it's secretly a homicidal rabbit who can crucio us, better name it something intimidating, you were the one who conjured it after all."

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Well, I'm pretty sure that one's a boy. And if Cuddles is out, then I'm guessing you're not up for the name Pancakes either." She laughed, trying to think of something awesome and epic and menacing to name their bunny, smiling at the slight comment he'd given her, saying that anything she'd conjured would have to be badass. Badass Pansy is slowly making her return to AWF thank goodness, though the oblivious innocence will still remain. "I dunno. I'm terrible at naming things. How about you come up with something, person who gives yourself an epic nickname like the Half Blood Prince?" She sighed, contemplating, unable to think of anything badass, and now mostly just hungry for some pancakes.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Pancakes? Well, I suppose it could be worse, it could be Snuggles or Fluffy, though in my past experience, fluffy things can be quite terrifying, have you ever seen a fat cat?! Thing might eat me," he said, shuddering. I bet I came up with the Half Blood Prince thing while drunk, maybe if we drink and snog, I'll come up with something equally epic. Severus paused, and picked up the bunny, examining him again. "As far as menacing names go, all I can think of is something some redneck would name their pitbull, like Killer or Savage, none of which seem to suit this guy. I bet he's the kind of bunny who'll slit your throat in the night, not charge at you and try and cute-ify you to death, like Puss in Boots from Shrek."
And if Snape was drunk, he'd have a huge long explanation as to why Pancakes is the perfect name, because you can squish people into pancakes.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Alas, such snogged and drunken inspiration will be overlooked today because that isn't happening. "Seems likely." She nodded seriously as he described what sort of menacing the bunny would probably possess. "He's a sneaky little one, I agree. More of the one who'll sneak into your bed before you go to sleep and make sure you don't wake up in the morning. Which would be the sort of killer I would be if I went crazy and became Pansy the serial killer."
Re: The Library: A Study Table
We still need to get them drunk and have the renaming of Pansy, because I still instinctual type out Pansy Flower instead of just Pansy and it's confusing. "Ah, that sounds about accurate. Thief in the night sort of guy, huh little rabbit? Well, unless your weapon of choice is pancakes, and you suffocate people in their sleep with them, I think Pancake might be out. But who knows! Maybe that's EXACTLY what the bunny does! What do you think, Pansy, does he smother people with breakfast items, or does he just flatten them into pancakes, using heavy objects? I wouldn't put it past this guy," he said, stroking his chin contemplatively as he debated actually going for the name Pancake, as I am SERIOUSLY uncreative right now, and would probably just name it something awful like Bob.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
Well, Pansy will have to be coerced into drinking, either that or it'd be just a slightly buzzed Pansy hanging out with a sloshed Sev. Whatever works. "Hmmm. I don't think he's a food murderer kind of rabbit, or a squasher sort of rabbit. He's rather small." Pansy tapped a finger against her lips as she thought, narrowing her eyes and trying to work out something awesome and epic. Ashley is horrid at naming things. She opened her mouth a few times, as if she were about to suggest a name, but thought better of it and shut her lips again, going back to thinking. "Hm. Since he comes in the night to kill, he's a bit like an incubus." She got up and disappeared among the shelves of books for a moment, finally returning with a fat dusty volume in hand. She cracked it open and flipped the pages, sending up a cloud of dust that she tried not to sneeze because of. "Ah! Lilu, the father of Gilgamesh was an incubus." She continued skimming the page. "And apparently Merlin is the child of an incubus. Popo Bawa is what they call them on the island of Zanzibar. In Chile it's the Trauco. Tintin in Ecuqador, Liderc in Hungary, Boto in the Amazon, Tokolosh in South Africa." Pansy shrugged, skimming over all the names of places or people or the demons again. "Any of those sound good or should we keep looking?"
Re: The Library: A Study Table
EOWYN WANTS TO SNOG ASHLEY RIGHT NOW BECAUSE FOR HER HOMEWORK SHE HAD TO SUMMARIZE SOMETHING IN GILGAMESH AND FOR THE LIFE OF HER SHE COULDN'T REMEMBER LILU'S NAME. THANK YOU OH MY GOD. I suppose a hug would suffice. *TACKLE HUGS*
Severus wrinkles his nose at the dust and listens to the list of names curiously. "I like Lilu! It sounds so cute and pretty, almost, like the bunny, and like the bunny it will also destroy you in the night. That's bloody brilliant!" he exclaimed, chuckling at the little bunny. "How do you like that name, little rabbit? Aw, aren't you just the sweetest thing," he remarked, smiling and saying that in Alan Rickman's voice, sending Eowyn into fits of giggles. "Tintin just reminds me of the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, not at all intimidating, and the others are just a bit too odd and difficult to remember, I think. What do you say, Pansy? Lilu the bunny?"

YAY YOU'RE WELCOME!!!! *ISH TACKLE HUGGED*
Ashley is dying laughing picturing Alan Rickman talking to a bunny rabbit like this, with Odette Yustman sitting beside him just... staring in shock. Pansy laughed a little at his excitement over the name and nodded. "Lilu sounds great to me. Lilu it is." She picked up the little bunny and held it close to her face, scrunching her nose up as the little rabbit leaned forward to push his nose to hers and his whiskers tickled her cheeks. "If you're a killer, you could sure fool me." She sat him back down on the table, where the little fuzzball happily hopped among their spread out books, nibbling on the corner of one that was sitting out in front of Sev.

Re: The Library: A Study Table
"Lilu, if you let Pince catch you eating her book, you're a dead bunny. I wouldn't recommend it, little guy," he laughed, smiling up at Pansy happily, yes, happily. "So, what's the deal now, do we just let him loose, are we taking turns taking care of this cutie? I feel like letting him loose might lead to mass murders, you see," he joked, petting the bunny gently as he focused his eyes on it, instead of Very Pretty Pansy Flower, which he really doesn't want to be looking at, because awkwardness will ensue... and it will anyway. See, I'm preparing, see that little banner in my signature? I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS. I DO. -nostalgic!eowyn is here-

Re: The Library: A Study Table
I LOVE THE OLD DAYS WHEN IT WAS JUST THE O5 AND SNAPE IN SLYTHERIN. GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES. "Well, we'd better keep an eye on him. It'd be like second year all over again if we let him loose, and I don't think I want to be sent home our last year at Hogwarts. So we could take turns with him? Joint custody or something." She laughed, glad to see Sev so happy as that was quite a rare thing indeed. Funny how a little white rabbit could make him so darn happy. "So who wants him first? Me or you?" She nudged the little rabbit over on his side, tickling his soft belly and laughing when he happily closed his eyes and yawned.
Re: The Library: A Study Table
BEST. DAYS. EVER. POOR SNAPE, FOREVER FEARING BOLARS, MY IMAGINARY BALL SACK JUST RETREATED AS I TYPED BOLARS. Also, I'm fairly sure Lilu just replaced Kerbit.
Severus laughed at that and nodded, not at all needing a repeat of second year. "Yes, best not to let them think we've opened the chamber somehow, using a rabbit. And joint custody sounds great," he chuckled, looking affectionately at the apparently sleepy rabbit. "Can I have him first?" he asked hopefully, eying little Lilu with a bright eyed expression on his face, partly from Pansy, and partly from the rabbit. Is this what most people are like, every day, when they talk to people? I could get used to talking to her, she's not really all that bad, she's not that bad at all. I actually like her company. Well, that's different.
