But see in my head Draco on a bookshelf makes more sense than Snape getting hugs or having bunnies. Also it's like a sniper position. He can practice some of those dark curses.

Severus loves Pansy and hugs her back because Pansy is apparently the only person besides Eowyn who loves Snape at all and even that's iffy given the amount of torture Eowyn puts him through for her own amusement.

Luna officially hates Halloween. She's changed out of her silly costume and is now in the library, hoping that she'll run into Hermione because she's rather sad looking and wants some huggles. She smiles slightly when she sees her girlfriend sitting at a desk, just like she hoped she might. "Hi," she greets quietly as she sits down, not saying anything else.

Hermione looks up, a smile on her face at the sound of her girlfriend's voice. "Hi Luna. So you decided not to go to that silly party as well? I just wanted to spend my time more productively, and..." she trails off, biting her lip as she realises how withdrawn Luna is. It's not her usual, content quiet, it's clear she's upset. "Luna? What's wrong?" Hermione asks softly, reaching for the Ravenclaw's hand under the table.

Luna sighs and takes Hermione's hand gratefully, feeling a little comforted by the gesture. "I promised Dean I'd go to the party with him as a friend, so he could introduce me to Seamus and Ang," she begins to explain. Luna had never been the type to pretend there's nothing wrong, or hide things from people. "And it was okay at first, I guess. He was acting sort of funny. Then..." She sighs before getting out this last bit of the night, because it's still hard to believe that it happened. "He told me that he liked me...More than a friend. And I couldn't tell him about you, but I couldn't tell him what he wanted to hear either." She glanced around, seeing that no one was in the library due to big party and that they were pretty alone right now. She took a chance and rested her head on Hermione's shoulder. "And now it looks like I've lost one of my best friends because of it and there's nothing I can do."

Hermione gasps and her free hand flies up to cover her mouth, her face showing her horror. Somewhere in the back of her mind there's that little voice going 'I KNEW IT!' to hear her suspicions and jealousies about Dean confirmed, but she pushes it away because it doesn't matter that Dean has feelings for her girlfriend, it matters that Luna is upset. When Luna rests her head on her shoulder, Hermione's eyes fly around the empty Library for half a second, then she kisses the top of Luna's head quickly. "I'm so sorry. I'm sure... erm, I'm sure things will calm down, and given a bit of time for the sting to wear off, you'll be able to be the best of friends again," she says encouragingly.

Luna sighs and shakes her head. "You didn't see his face," she mumbles sadly. "And it probably doesn't help that I just sort of left after that. I didn't mean to. I just didn't know what else to say to him. And honestly, I just wanted to be with you tonight anyway. I didn't even want to go to this silly party in the first place," she says lifting her head from her girlfriend's shoulder to smile at her. "But...I guess there's nothing I can do now, is there?"

Hermione thinks she would've run far, far away from that awkward scene too, and returns Luna's smile readily because she only wants to see her happy. "I suppose what's done is done," she murmurs, her eyes tracing the curves and lines of Luna's face affectionately. "So did you have anything in mind - something you wanted to do, that would make you feel better?" she asks, and since Hermione is fairly oblivious to these things, there isn't even a smirk or a hint of sexual connotation about that, bless her little heart.

Luna doesn't think anything sexual either. Viktor is just sort of being quiet right now because that's the first thing he thought of. She smiles at how understanding and sweet Hermione is being about all of this. "Um. We could go outside for some fresh air," she suggests, because Luna has always liked being outside. "I wouldn't say no to a walk right now."

Hermione smiles and stands up at once, stowing her belongings in her bag. "Well let's go then - I'm sure the fresh air will do us both some good," she says, walking Luna towards the exit so that Lu can post us in the next thread.

Peter walked in, hoping to find Moony because it had been a really long time since he had seen the one Marauder who doesn't tease him. He spotted some girl sitting at a table, chewing on the end of a quill. His eyes widened immediately and he rushed on over to where she was. "Don't do that!" he said, tugging the quill out of her hand. "Do you want avian influenza?! Do you want to have a sore throat, sore muscles, malaise, and diarrhea?!"
