Al burst out laughing. This Hannah girl was funny. "True. And you are a Hufflepuff...so you've got those finding skills to help you out. Hm. I'll have to talk to the Slytherins about hiding our common room, or moving it to a more secret location before the Puffs invade it."

Hannah smiled, taking a final sip of her tea, "Well, I'm warm now. It's funny, I don't live that far away from here, but it always seems so much warmer at home." She hopped off the table and put the cup beside the sink, next to a big pile of dishes from breakfast. "I kinda feel bad for house elves, they have so much work here."

Al hopped off the table and set his cup down next to Hannah's. "I know what you mean. I know they supposedly love cleaning and cooking and stuff, but it really is a lot of work. I sort of...Hm" He pursed his lips as he thought of an idea then grinned at Hannah. "What do you say we help them out by washing up some of these dishes? I don't know any cleaning spells so we'd have to go it the muggle way unless you know a spell or two that would help."

"Great idea!" Hannah told him, "I do know a cleaning spell, but I can never do it right. We'd probably be safer just doing it by hand. Better not let any of them see us, though, they might get upset." She looked around until she found two towels, "Alright. Washer or drier?"

Al smiled and took the towel from Hannah. "Hmm. I'll dry," he offered as he looked down at all the dishes and plates and such. "Unless you'd rather dry. It doesn't really matter to me."

"No way, I hate drying." Hannah said, turning on the sink and NOT mixing different kinds of cleaners because that's a bad idea. Picking up some of the plates, she puts them in the water and starts cleaning, passing the clean plates to Al to dry. "I wonder what would happen if we broke something." She thought out loud, "Not that I will. I've gotten really good at washing dishes."

"I doubt we'll break a pl-- Oh!" He dropped a plate but caught it at the last second, grinning at Hannah as he stood up straight to dry it off. "Like I was saying, we won't break anything. I'm good with my hands."

Hannah's hand went to her mouth when he dropped the plate, "Oh my God, you scared me." She told him, then, "Nice catch. Reflexes of a chaser, alright. I don't think anyone would notice a few missing plates, anyways." She said, sounding doubtful.

Al chuckled. "Don't worry. I wouldn't have let it fall," he grinned. "And thanks. I guess that's why I'm a chaser and not a beater. Huh. I'd probably make a pretty good keeper too," he noted as he dried off the plate and put it away.

Hannah smiled, "You probably would. But do you really think that would be very fun?" She shrugged, picking up a mug and cleaning it, "The speed is the funniest part, I think. The element of danger. Maybe that's just me. I don't know."

"Keeper and seeker seem like boring positions. Keepers just chill out at the hoop and only get action when the other team's chasers are around, and seekers just looks around for the snitch which has got to be terribly boring. Chasers always have something to do throughout the entire game, and I like that. I can't stand being bored during a game."

I'm going to assume you meant they have SOMETHING to do throughout the whole game.

"Yeah, that's exactly how I feel!" Hannah grinned, pleased that she had met someone with such similar ideas as her. She could tell that they were going to be good friends. "Got any other words of wisdom?"

"Uh. Yeah. Don't run with scissors. Your parents weren't kidding when they told you that was dangerous," he told her, keeping his face very serious for a moment before winking at her.

Hannah rolled her eyes, "You're a few years behind me, I learned that one the hard way." She joked, finding them fast approaching the end of the pile. She absently started humming the Clean Up Song, "Almost done," She announced unnecessarily, "I don't know if I can go back to my dull, normal life after this."

"Tell me about it. I never get to wash dishes when I'm home. This is the most fun I've had in years," he said dramatically with a joking grin. "Maybe I'll become a house elf..."

Hannah shook her head, "Don't even think about it. I heard that's an incredibly painful procedure, some people take years recovering from it. Besides, you have nice years. Wouldn't want to loose those, now, would you?"

Al reached up to touch his ears. "They are nice, aren't they? Hm. Maybe I'll just be a maid instead. Then I get to prance around in those cute little maid outfits and clean people's house for them."

Hannah laughed, cleaning the last of the dishes, "That seems like quite a thing to aspire to." Turning to him, she added, "I'd hire you. You're a pretty good cleaner. Maybe I'd even provide the outfit for you."

"Really? Sweet deal," he said as he put away the last plate. "I'll have to consider that. Do I get free meals as well?" he asked with a joking grin as he set the towel back down on the counter.

"Let's not get hasty, I'm not running a charity home." Hannah pretended to consider for a moment, "You can have free meals... if you cook them."

"Oh. Well, I'm useless in the kitchen so it looks like I'll just have to starve. Seriously, I can barely manage boiling water," he said with a very serious nod.

Hannah laughed, "Good thing you can use magic then. That takes care of boiling water. Maybe I'll show you how to cook, sometime. I'm not the best, but I can manage simple things." She put down her cloth, finished with the cleaning.

"Really? That'd be awesome! Most of my friends are just as hopeless in the kitchen," he chuckled. "I was cursed to hang out with people who can't feed me, I guess."

Hannah laughed, "None of the Slytherins can cook? Thank God for house elves, then. You'll better learn now or risk never being able to feed your family. You know, they actually teach cooking in some muggle schools."

"Really? I wish we had cooking classes here. Merlin knows, I could use them," he laughed. "And most of the Slytherins I know have house elves who cook for them. Me? I've got a mother who can cook, so I'm set...Until I move out, of course."
