Severus frowned as Lily sighed, angered that he could do seemingly nothing to help her. He decided that hanging about would do nothing at this point, nothing he was saying seemed to make a damned bit of difference. "I think I'm going to go, Lily," he said quietly, giving her a tight hug. "Nothing I'm saying is helping."

Lily walked down by her usual tree by the lake. It'd been quite a while since she'd sat here, just to think and feel the breeze. She smiled to think about all the days Sev and her had sat here, just talking as friends. Now...She brought her hand to her face, lightly touching her lips. Officially or not...we're so much more than friends now.

Lily turned to her friend, grinning. "You're out an about, must be feeling at least a tiny bit better! You still don't look that good though...i'm wonderful, though! " She hugged Hermione gently. "Between planning your wedding and thinking of Sev, my thoughts have been quite occupied."

Lily shrugged. "It's fine...not your fault you aren't feeling well!" She blushed slightly as Hermione asked about her and Sev. "I haven't seen him today...I don't know what you heard before you fell asleep last night, but Sev and I aren't officially dating. I mean...he...told me he loved me..and I realized I really do care about him, as more than a friend. We..sort of ended up kissing in the library.." She glanced down, her face pink. "He had to go to class though, next time I see him i'll confirm our relationship." She looked back up at Hermione, still not fully believing her friend's easy acceptance. "I've been blind for so long to his feelings for me, and mine for him...he'd do anything to make me happy and keep me from getting hurt. I know you've got such a wretched past with him, but he cares about me and I wouldn't let him to anything against you or Remus. Most of what happened I learned about after, I wouldn't ever want to see you guys hurt...you're my best girl friend, 'Mione, and Remus is a good friend of mine as well. You know that."

*Hermione sighs as the full extent of what she'd heard in the common room returns to her, and Lily's words sink in. She reaches out and squeezes her hand, giving a small smile. She cares about Lily, a lot, and wants her to be happy. But she needs to explain her feelings, to get it all out in the open right now so that they can move on from it without damaging their friendship.*

Look, Lily, I have to say this. I need to be totally honest. You're right - I don't like S - Sev. I never will and I know you don't expect me to. I'll never trust him, never be able to see anything beyond the fact that he knew Remus was my boyfriend, but he went there anyway. Not that I don't give Remus his share of responsibility, but you know what I mean. If it was down to me to pick someone for one of my very best friends, I would never have chosen him.

*She takes a deep breath and rushes on before Lily can respond*

BUT, here's the thing. You know him in a very different way than I do. You know him better than I ever have or will. And he makes you happy. That's all I want for you, Lily. I want you to be happy, and it's not for me to choose who or what makes you happy. So please know that even though I can't ever honestly say I like him, I'm honestly happy for you and I want you to know that I'll always be there for you. Do you understand? I mean, are you ok with that...?

Lily simply smiled, and hugged Hermione tightly. "Yes..i'm alright with that. I won't let Sev come between us, now that I know about his feelings for me I almost feel guilty for him going to anyone else. Don't tell me not to, I will anyway. I'm just overjoyed you told me all this at all, that you can appreciate my happiness over hatred!" She pulled out of the hug and gave her friend a wry smile. "But Hermione, whoever would you have picked for me anyway? Potter turned me down, i've realized that was for the best, and Viktor Krum said I deserved someone better. " She grinned. "As long as everyone...mostly gets along, and I don't even expect him to be invited to the wedding..he's done too much harm to you two. Speaking of which..."

*She smiles, glad she spoke up and cleared the air now. She thinks over Lily's question - who would she have chosen for Lily? She'd never thought beyond James, and it really had shocked her when James had changed his mind. It had felt like destiny to her...*

I honestly don't know. I suppose I just liked the idea of everyone getting along like one big happy family. But I guess that's not life, is it?
Speaking of what, the wedding?

"Exactly...it doesn't. This'll work out though. and YES! Of course the wedding! Colour schemes, flowers...even style!" Lily was smiling, but her smile faded and she looked at Hermione incredulously. "I know you haven't forgotten...are you actually any better than you were yesterday, or just more away?"

[Ok, i'm assuming you decided that yes, there will be Remione pups. Cubs make so little sense...wolves have pups. Or can you say both? O.o *goes to look it up*. Anyway, does Hermione actually know that yet or...what?]

*She grins, a little overwhelmed. A wedding. My wedding, our wedding. It's still amazing to her. She brushes Lily's concerns for her health aside for now - she's promised herself not to think on it anymore, and wait and see.*

I'm a little better I think. Still tired, but alive and kicking. My gosh, the wedding, I've barely thought about it! It's all so overwhelming. I don't want a huge fuss really, something simple would suit us. As long as our friends are with us, and Remus and I are married by the end of it, that's all that matters to me! I'm quite partial to blue - royal blue, I think it looks lovely with silver....

[Cubs sounds cuter though Wink

Hermione doesn't know... yet. She suspects - she's a few days late and she's kinda hopeful, even though she knows she shouldn't be and she's trying not to get her hopes up Very Happy
