Regulus freezes at Viktor's voice, having been turning over thoughts in his head about what Lucius had been saying, about him being better off without Viktor. He slowly and uneasily tightens the scarf around his neck and turns around to look at Viktor, sadness in his eyes. "Viktor."

Viktor glares at Regulus, not sure where to begin. The fucking of Lucius. Calling his best friend a Mudblood. Hurting his best friend. "I trusted you. After everything you’ve done, I still found a vay to trust you, and you again managed to fuck everything up,” he ends up saying, his voice full of hurt and anger. “How did this happen? I remember ven I used to love you, Regulus. Ve used to be happy, and now I don’t even know who you are anymore.”

Regulus winced visibly at his words, tears already starting to form in his eyes as he looked at him sadly. "I remember when you used to love me too. Before you were off snogging every other guy in this school, and spent all your time avoiding me. Don't talk to me like I'm the only one who fucks up around here, Viktor. Tell me, how many times did you fuck Cedric, after we got back together? How long have you been lying to me?"

Regulus glowered at Viktor, tightening the scarf even more until it was nearly restricting his breathing. "You didn't pull away, not from what I saw," he said evenly, his voice bitter. "And maybe I wouldn't need to hang around Lucius if my own boyfriend actually wanted to be around me sometime. But you're always so busy, aren't you? Busy with Cedric, with Sirius-- any guy that isn't me. What do you want from me, huh? To just hang around the locker room waiting for you to show up when you want to fuck me? Seems like I'd be waiting there a while, because you're never there, not for me. Do you even want me anymore?" he asked, his voice shaking.

How am I supposed to do that ven I think you're off fucking Lucius. I saw you vith him in the clearing. I saw the vay you looked at him. And I vould hang out vith you if you vere actually fun to spend time vith. It looks like you've kept yourself busy though. Fucking Lucius. How did I not figure it out sooner? You alvays had a thing for blondes, didn't you?" he asked coldly as he glared at Regulus. "And I talked to Herm-own-ninny. I can't believe vot you did to her. Did you not care about hurting my friends? I hate Lucius but I don't go around insulting him to his face. I didn't shove him into a fucking bookshelf. I didn't call him a Mudblood to his face. How could anyvon vant somebody like that?" he asked quietly as he looked at Regulus, wondering when it was that everything fell apart. When he stopped loving him. How he went from wanting to spend every moment with him to being disgusted with the sight of him.

Regulus gaped at him in shock, not even entirely caring how Viktor knew-- did it even matter anymore? "Fucking Lucius? Do you think I would have done that, if you hadn't decided to get it on with my fucking brother in front of me? There's a difference between playing a game, and snogging him until he can't breathe, Viktor. Yeah, I slept with Lucius, alright?! It was a mistake! A stupid, horrible mistake that I've regretted since the moment I woke up the next day, and I wish I hadn't done it, I wish I hadn't let him get me drunk-- I'm sorry!" he retorted, his voice falling to a whisper. "I'm sorry, Viktor. About Lucius. But I'm not sorry about what I said to that bitch. I don't give a damn who she thinks she is, but I don't need some muggleborn scum walking up to me and telling me that I don't love you, because I do. It doesn't matter to me that you don't love me, I know you don't, and I don't care. That doesn't change the fact that I love you, and after all this shit the last thing I want is some girl I hardly know walking up to me and telling me I don't deserve you. If you feel that way, then say it to me and go away, like you should have done months ago. You've always felt that way and I know it, that I'm not good enough for you. Then why pretend like I matter, and stick around, calling me yours, when you don't want to be?"

You had to go and use that vord on her as if it really makes a difference if she's a pureblood or not. The Regulus I vos in love vith didn't care about that. I've spent the last few veeks trying to find him and it's taken me this long to figure out that he isn't coming back. You're not the person I thought you vere. I tried to make it vork. To convince myself that things vill get better but they're not going to. I'm sorry that it has to end this vay, but I can't do this anymore. It's obvious how unhappy ve both are, so vy are ve still trying?" he asked, not knowing what else to say. "It's over, Regulus," he whispered softly, the anger in his voice finally gone as he finally said those last three words. "Ve're both better off vithout each other."

No, you're right, her blood had nothing to do with the way she was being such a bitch, because I know not all muggleborns are as repulsive as she is, so it wasn't an appropriate insult at the time, but it still matters, at least it does to me," he answered sharply, staring at Viktor as his love spoke his last three words. "It's... over?" he echoed, not bothering to mask the hurt in his voice, as his thoughts drifted to what Lucius had said. You're better off without him, Regulus. He took a step forward, lightly placing a hand on Viktor's chest as he looked up at him, his eyes glistening with the tears he still wouldn't let fall. "You were always better off without me. You should never have come back."

"You could have talked to me then if you veren't too busy slapping me," he said coldly, tensing as Regulus touched him. "And you're better off vithout me. I'd hate to ruin your reputation. I hope some day you find somevon just like you, and I hope you're happy then because I'll never be able to be the person you vant me to. Just like you'll never do the same for me," he said quietly, looking into Regulus' sad, silver eyes. "Goodbye, Regulus. I never meant for it to be like this," he whispered, standing there for a moment before turning away and walking back to his dorm to be alone, not looking back as he left behind who he thought he'd be spending the rest of his life with.

Regulus watched in silence as Viktor walked away, no goodbye hug, no goodbye kiss, just a few words, and then he was gone. He stayed where he was a while, then slowly unwrapped the scarf from around his neck and held it up to his face, taking in the scent one last time before he dropped it onto the sand and walked away, leaving it behind. He rubbed at his eyes until the tears went away- he was done with crying, with being pathetic and small and childish. It was long since time he changed into the person he wished he was, instead of trying to be the person he thought he needed to be. He went into the castle, heading for Slytherin.

I hear Viktor's moved on to someone better, anyway," she says, smiling but knowing she's not going to be sharing any more details on that. "He looks, like, way happier now. And that's nice. I like it when my friends are happy. Oh you're in Gryffindor? Me too! I'm sixth year though. And I hope we don't actually have ranks or serial numbers, because if we do, I think I was totally absent the day they handed them out."
