She was crying harder than ever now. She stood there shaking her head at every word he said. It was too much for her. She quickly turned and started walking away, completely sobbing now. She looked over her shoulder one last time. That was a mistake, the look on his face hurt her more than anything she had ever seen and she put it there. She tore her gaze away from his and ran back up to the castle.

He watch her silently as she walked away, trying to call out to her, but only mouthing the words. As soon as she began to run he fell, curling into himself as if he was a dead leaf. Everything collapsed on him then, he could hold it up no longer. "Don't," he whispered, not caring how pathetic he may look to anyone who saw. Crawling slowly towards the nearest tree, he leaned against the trunk and watched her, now a dot, run through the doors and disappear from view. The pain was overwhelming, and for the first time in what seemed like forever, he began to cry.

Molly is out here, picking apples to bake into cool shit, because her poor brain just cannot cope with being locked up in an old classroom studying anymore. She only goes there to be alone, but somehow she's yet to figure out that in the two times she's visited that room, she's been interrupted three times. No wonder Kingsley finds it so easy to make her feel like an idiot, thinking things through is just not dear Mol's strong suit I guess.

Inner!Molly is just grateful he's wearing clothes this time....

Molly, who has been very carefully examining the apples to be sure she only picks the best (because much like the salmon with John West, it's the apples that Molly Prewett rejects that makes Molly Prewett the best and I just realised that may be an Australian thing so I am just going to get back to the action here), jumps and whips around, a light blush staining her cheeks at having been startled by that. "Oh, hey Rad! Howzit going?" she says, smiling and staring a moment before averting her eyes back to the trees.

Eowyn blinks because that sounds Australian to her. "It's going great! How're you doing, girl? Am I gonna be seeing you at the party tomorrow night?!" he asked excitedly, and yes, like in the picture, his hand is totally on his belt buckle.

Molly turns back to smile at Rad, her eyes automatically following the path of his arm to where his hand is rested on his belt buckle, right above his - ohboy. Molly looks back to the nice, safe apples. "I'm alright," she says, eyes still on the apples because really she's kinda tired from trying to study - she never knew putting in effort actually took so much effort, you see. "Yeah, I'll totally be there! Like, what's a party without a Prewett or two, anyway? So I take it you're going?" she says, even though given what he's said, he'd have to be going. She just wants to check, though, give herself time to steel her nerves for the occasion. Her wand jabs out and an apple soars neatly from the nearest tree into her hand. She examines it, and deems it worthy, so she slips it into her knitted bag.

"Awesome! Of course I'm going, can you really imagine me passing up a party? It's like you don't know me at all, girl! But really, I won't lie, being the first party since I moved, I'm so fuckin' excited. Not to mention, Viktor said he'd meet me there," he said with a wide grin and a wink. "Don't tell me you haven't noticed that Bulgarian hunk! So, you got your eye on anyone in particular? 'Cause girl, I can so see you blowin' all them boys away tomorrow night," he teased, glancing up at the apples.

Molly giggles and tosses her hair over her shoulder. "Hey! Just because he's gay and, like, my bestest friend ever, doesn't mean I'm blind!" she says, greaming at Rad because she'd have to be completely insane not to have noticed the distinct hunkiness of her BFF. She twitches for just a second, feeling a secret little sting over the revelation that there might be something going on between her crush and her BFF, but she shakes it off quickly, the movement so fast it may have been no more than a shadow flickering across her face. "The first party of the year is always a big one, I guess. Like, everyone excited to be hanging out and stuff, and classes aren't too heavy or whatever yet. Me? Nope, I don't have my eye on anyone," she says brightly, as if she is not standing here staring straight at what she wants and can never have. "I guess we'll just have to see if there are any boys out there that, like, measure up."

"That's my Molly!" he laughed proudly, grinning down at her happily. "You'll make their heads spin! Have you picked out a dress yet?" he asked curiously, not at all noticing that anything was going on in her head, about him and Viktor. "Well, whatever you wear, I just KNOW you'll be the hottest girl in the room, dammit. You're a bombshell! I bet even Alice'll be jealous, 'cause you're obviously the cooler sister, and you can let her know I said that, especially 'cause she's NEVER around to hang out anymore! It sucks."

She greams even more deeply, her ego enjoying some heavy petting right there, but she shakes her head ever so slightly. "Alice is the prettier one," she says loyally, because Alice is indeed stunningly gorgeous. Molly's not going to refute that she is cooler though because she so is. She giggles lightly again. "I totally won't tell her. I, like, hardly ever see her anymore anyway. It's kinda sad you know - I miss my baby sister and it's like, how am I meant to keep an eye on her when she's all AWOL and stuff? So doing the model thing and getting all dressed up tomorrow night or are you just going with your usual 'clothes never stay on me anyway' line?" she asks, turning back to apple examinations to hide her returned light blush.

"Oh Merlin, your dress sounds GORGEOUS! And puh-lease, Alice is prettier, but you're HOTTER! Everyone knows it, I mean even I know it. You're the spunky one, girl! Not that your ego needs stroking, but you're cool stuff," he said encouragingly, grinning broadly. "But hey, it's a party. I'm not writing to any designers to make me look like a god, but I'm wearing some stuff I modeled over summer for this fall's magazines, I'm pretty sure this outfit's gonna be in Vogue or something like that, so yeah, I suppose I'm gonna go with something classier than the usual get up," he said, gesturing at his own clothes, which, while slightly worn, are still rather nice, because let's face it, Rad likes the fabulous and luxurious.

Molly's face lights up, her feelings getting the better of her despite her little internal reminder to herself that Rad is gay so she could be the hottest girl in school and he still wouldn't want her. Oh, wow. Instant ego deflation. Damn. She takes a second to give herself the 'hey, you are one of the hottest girls in school' pep talk and manages to get her face into a passable smirk. "Thanks, Rad. Huh, sounds neat," she says when he describes his outfit and tilts her head to the side, thinking ~~and imagining Rad at a photo shoot~~. "I think Ali gets Vogue sometimes. I sort of go with Witch Weekly, but that's totally only because they have the recipes," she confesses in a rush, and summons a couple more apples to her bag. Despite her best efforts to hold it in, a little yawn slips out and she covers her mouth with one small hand to hide it before returning to apple picking.

Hey, let me give you hand with those apples-- no, I'm not gonna pick 'em for you and make you feel short, silly, here!" he said, promptly lifting Molly off the ground and perching her on his shoulder, so she can reach the very best apples at the top of the tree. "Isn't that better? You do remember that part of our deal was you getting to ride around on my shoulders whenever, or something like that! And let me tell you, miss, Caradoc Dearborn ALWAYS follows through!"

"Uh-huh, just a little," Molly admits, blushing as she tries to hold back another yawn. And ohshit now she's on his shoulder again. She squeezes her eyes shut, takes a deep breath, and a second later her eyes are open again and she's smiling as if she doesn't have a care in the world. "Huh. Like, human ladder. Neat. Thanks," she says, and starts picking the apples at the top, most of which pass the Molly Prewett inspection. She leans forward, stretching to grab one that's just out of reach, and loses her balance. With a sharp little shriek of surprise, she latches onto Rad's hand, which Mya assumes is around her waist or on her leg somewhere to steady her. She blushes, heart thudding loudly in her chest as she shakes her head and lets go of his hand as if burned. "Sorry. Totally not used to the altitude," she jokes sheepishly.

Caradoc had indeed been gripping her tightly around the waist, and held fast to her as she lost her balance. He promptly picks her up off her shoulder and places her back on the steady ground and chuckles, wrapping her in a warm, tight hug. "Hey now! Don't scare me like that, don't want you to fall. I would never have dropped you and even if you'd fallen I'd have caught you, alright? Promise," he said, bopping her on the nose with his finger as he leaned down to kiss her on the forehead. "Careful though, really!"

Molly's moment of relief as her feet hit the earth again is short lived, swallowed up in the fact that now she's wrapped up in Caradoc's arms, drawn in close so that her nose brushes his chest until he pulls away. Her eyes go impossibly round as his finger lightly presses the tip of her nose, and when he kisses her forehead, she's completely a deer caught in the headlights. "Sorry," she squeaks out again, then blinks at herself in confusion because she's not really the type to apologise if she's really done nothing wrong. She busies herself with counting the apples in her bag to see how many pies' worth she's collected while she tries to think of something to say. Merlin, what's wrong with her? She inwardly curses Kingsley for interrupting her study session the night before, because somehow her being tired and never sure what to say anymore us all his fault, she just knows it.

Caradoc laughs lightly at her odd expression, brushing it off as her being startled by being placed on the ground so quickly. "Here, you missed the nicest one," he said, reaching up and plucking a shiny red apple and handing it over with a happy smile. "There. Now please tell me you're doing something delicious with all those apples, like pie or something? 'Cause you're one hell of a cook, and I seriously would LOVE to try whatever it is you plan on doing with them!" he said, leaning over shoulder as she counted the apples.

Molly shivers a little as Rad leans over her and hands her the extra apple and hopes like hell he just brushes it off as her getting cold as she conjures up another carefree smile. "Thanks. Yeah, I'm going to head up to the kitchens now and bake a couple of pies. See I always have to do more than one otherwise Gid and Fay, like, totally flip because they think they'll miss out. Um, if you want to try some you could totally hang out," she offers, feeling infinitely more shy about it than her casual demeanour suggests.

Caradoc brightened at that and nodded happily. "That sounds great, but you know, you should keep in mind I will be utterly useless in the kitchen and you should by all means keep me away from anything involving the words cooking or baking or even boiling water or making toast, okay? Okay. Let's go then?" he said, reaching for her hand to lead her into the castle, a wide smile on his face.

Molly arches an eyebrow. "You don't get to touch anything. Like, nobody sets foot in Molly Prewett's kitchen without her express permission. And without completing the Kitchen Induction. And I totally don't have time for that today, so you can watch. From far away," she adds, thinking of how closely he'd leaned over her shoulder a moment ago, and how distracting it would be for her to bake with that going on. She flushes at the contact as he takes her hand and matches her strides to his long legs as best she can, because focusing on that is less stomach-churning than focusing on the fact that he's holding her hand.
