Audrey has collected a pile of books for her latest herbology assignment and sees a table with only one other person at it. Walking over she puts down her books across from him and sees that he's reading a herbology book too. "Hi, mind if I join you?"

He looked up at her and skimmed the book titles before he looked up at her. He grinned when he saw they were Herbology books and then shook his head. "No, Please, Join." he said smiling at her.

"Thanks," she opened the first book and pulled out some parchment. Looking over at him she noticed it was a very high level herbology book. "You in the NEWT class?" She was in the class but knew that there was another section of it for Gryffs and Puffs so reasonably if he answered yes then he had to be in one of those houses. His lack of robes and tie was off putting and she was now very curious as to who he was.

"Yes, I am." he said and smiled at her. "I want to be a Herbology teacher here at Hogwarts after I graduate so I spend a lot of time studying Herbology and in the Greenhouses." He said kind of awkwardly, because he always feels pretty awkward when he was around girls. "Are you?" He asked, curiously because he has never seen her in the Greenhouses or in his class.

She smiled at him, well at last someone who knew what they wanted to do with their lives. "That sounds amazing and yes I am." She offered her hand across the table, "Audrey Stevenson, Ravenclaw." He seemed almost nervous around her and she couldn't help but find it endearing.

[Its all good. I'm in 3 scenes so...I may be posting a bit slow too.]

Neville grinned as she said that she was also in the NEWT Herbology class. He loved meeting people who loved Herbology like he did. His eyes widened a bit as she reached her hand out and his face turned bright red and he slowly reached his hand out, shaking hers quickly and then pulling his hand away. "I'm--I'm Neville Longbottom, Gryffindor." He said, a bit shaken up about having to shake her hand which involved making physical contact with...a girl.

Audrey loved how shy he was, it was so endearing. She had never really noticed the shy boys but now that she was faced with one she couldn't deny that it was nice to have a boy who wasn't controlling or domineering. "What are you reading about?"

He smiled at her. "I'm reading about Dittany." He said, assuming she knew what that was. "I am reading up to find out about how they heal wounds and stretch the skin over a wound." He said and smiled at her.

"Are you considering mediwizardry at all or is this just pleasure reading?" She had always enjoyed herbology as a way of understanding the ingredients she used for potions but had never really studied in depth over it like she had for other classes.

"Oh, Just some...reading for fun." Neville didn't like the word pleasure, it sounded dirty to him so he didn't like using it. "So, do you want to go into a Herbology career too? Or are you just taking the newt class for fun?"

"I'm actually aiming for a career in potions combined with a muggle chemistry degree so I'm taking herbology as a background so that I can better learn what each ingredient is used for." She shrugged and pulled her notes out of her bag. "So what's your favourite plant?

She considered for a moment, "Probably the chinese chomping cabbage. It has so many usages in potions and it's an incredible plant by it's own right. Are you a potions person?" She wondered if maybe he was in the other section of NEWT potions.

"Umm, Well, I'm not really the best at Potions so no." he said, thinking back to the time he looked like this during potions class.

"When it comes to things other than Herbology I am better with book stuff and not hands on things." he said nodding and gave her a small smile as he began to become a little more comfortable around her.

"Really?" he asked with a smile. "Well, thanks." he said and blushed slightly because girls didn't usually talk to him this long. He looked down at his book, not even reading the words on the page, just trying to hide how much he was blushing from her.

Audrey couldn't help but find it completely and utterly adorable. They worked in companionable silence for a while, Audrey glancing up every now and then to see Neville staring at his book, his cheeks still slightly pink. She finished her essay and closed up her books, "Well it was great to meet you Neville, I'm sure I'll see you around." She got up and started putting her books in her bag to leave.

"Bye Neville" She smiled at him one last time then walked out of the library stopping briefly on her way to check out a few books.

Dean came in, attempting to study, but he hates his life too much. So he's laying face first on the table with his arms spread out to the side.

Melanie walked into the library, after a long first day of classes. She hadn't been in this library yet since she transfered here so she decided to come check it out. Her eyes automatically went to the guy sprawled out on the table and she looked around for another free table but all the other ones seemed to be taken. So she walked over to the table with the guy sprawled out on top of it. She pulled out a chair. "Umm, I'm sorry to bother you but do you mind if I sit here? All the other spots are taken..."

He pulled his head up to look at a girl he had never seen before. In normal circumstances, he would find her extremely attractive, but right now he's sort of dead. "Oh. Sorry. Yeah, no problem. Just let me move..." He moved his books to his side of the table so she had space to put her own books down.

"Hmm?" He had been spacing out and totally forgot about what was expected of him, socially. "I'm okay. Um, long day. How are you?" He must make small talk, he didn't want to seem rude.

"Oh, Umm, Alright." She said with a sigh and gave him a smile. "Same. Long day." She said, because it was quite a long first real day for her. She opened a potions book and took out some parchment and a quill. She was a bit upset about having an essay for homework on her first day of class, but planned to get it done and perfect as fast as she could.
