Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
*smiles back and sits down, making herself comfortable*
It's been too long Lily! I'm fine - just popped out for a bit of air because it was getting a bit crazy in the common room...
*laughs a bit wryly* Yes, Remus and I had some problems, but we sorted it all out. What can I say, there must be something in the water in that dorm that makes those boys a little loopy...

Lily rolled her eyes and laughed. "Yeah, OH YEAH. Maybe they angered a house elf who not puts something in everything they drink.. to make them, all those stupid guys, no offense to Remus of course, so irritating..."

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
[safer not to ask, Lils]
*grins sympathetically at Lily, sensing the 'James Potter rant' rising to the surface*
I know all about the irritating nature of Marauders - I think I was about five minutes from hexing Sirius into oblivion before I left the common room...
Want to talk about it...?

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
God, i'm so predictable...James is practically all thats been in my head...of course Hermione can tell that..
Lily sighed, and smiled sadly, looking over the lake. "I'm really that predictable, aren't I? Potter...James, he's been practically the only thing on my mind...and I really hate it pretty much every time I realize i'm thinking about him... I don't even know anymore... I bet i'm the only one with this stupid sort of situation also..."
[I just remembered we'd first decided to do this when Hermione and Remus were apart for a tiny bit... so Hermione has much less to complain about...so Lily's being all whiny again. >_> ]

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
[that's ok! I was soooooooooooooo sick of being whiny while Remione was off, so I'm happy to let someone else vent! ]
*squeezes her hand*
It's ok, you know. I mean, it's understandable that you'd be caught up in it after everything that happened. I know I'd be pretty confused, and more than a little angry if I were in your shoes...

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
[Haha, alright.]
Lily sighed, taking a moment before speaking. "I guess so..I just...I thought he really cared for a while, Hermione. Now...he's done nothing to prove that, just assumes everything...I feel so worthless, like some shiny sticker he wants to collect, but doesn't care about past that.."

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
*wants to tell Lily she thinks she's wrong, that James clearly cares for her more than she gives him credit for, but knows it's no use - he's going to have to prove himself to her again.*
Don't feel worthless, Lily. You mean a lot to a lot of people, you know. Besides, one does have to make allowances for the male mind in general, you know...

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
Finally, Lily laughs at Hermione's comment, and grins. "Yes, I suppose you do... Hm. But how much is the male mind, and how much is just Potter? " She lay down, looking up at the different shades of green in all the leaves above her. "People keep telling me he cares...but if he does, he's just plain bloody awful at showing it. He'll have to deal with seeing me at the ball with someone else too, I mean, last one...last one he never showed. Whatever the reason...it was Valentine's Day. And he missed it. Didn't do anything to make up for the time.. barely seemed to care when I told him we were through!... Arg... I just plain don't know what to think about that boy, Mione.."

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
*stretches her legs out in front of her and leans back a little, still certain that she wouldn't be a very good friend if she jumped on the 'oh but he loves you!' bandwagon, even if she was tempted*
Well... could just be Potter for all I know. I can't say I know him half as well as I know the rest of the Marauders, but I did have a perfectly pleasant conversation with him in the common room the other day, so I can only assume there is hope for him yet...
*tosses Lily a quick grin*

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
"Hm. Yeah. I think he was tired or something the other day...looked off, so I went up...sort of said hello, asked what was up...he practically told me to go away, I think the only reason he pretended he was wide awake or whatever was that he wanted to be some remnant of polite. I pretty much said goodbye and left...otherwise it was a civil conversation..."that meant nothing.
[If it weren't for the entertainment of Evotter vs. Sevily, i'd want Lily to have a boyfriend more...also, Sev: hahaha... he's not helping that himself you know! Remus: James and Lily are the ONLY remnant of canon fandom! How can I mess that up? I mean, there WAS going to hopefully be mild Sevily at the ball..if Sev shows his face there anyway. Trust me, I want to see the cuteness too...I just want to see Evotter cuteness more. 'Cause when he gets a bit wiser and a bit mature... she'll not hate him. And they'll be PERFECT for each other. I don't know which i'll draw for the House Cup D: ]

*not wanting to push it, she just smiles*
See - there's a real boy somewhere under all that hair, maybe one day he'll fight his way to the surface and civil conversations will become a habit for the two of you..
*laughs a little, then hears drunken laughter and splashing sounds from the lake*
Oh Merlin, what now?
[sorry - I have to go pick husband up from work. I'll be back within about half an hour or so. if you have to go, I can finish it off myself when I get back or pause or something ]

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
[Yeah, I really should go. >_> It's pretty late where I am. Also..lol. At the hair comment. Maybe Hermione can leave? Lily's going to sort of zone out or fall asleep..I like having her here. Not a crazy place. ]
"Heh, I guess. I don't even know if I want that or not. His presence has only been minutely less irritating recently.. meaning the last couple of times I saw him, I just wished he wasn't there...not non-existent."
Lily smiled, sort of sadly, wishing things were different but not quite sure what she'd want the situation to be, then she sort of started day dreaming and zoned out, nearly forgetting Hermione was there.

[okies - I'll get her to go investigate the drunken morons now ]
*realising that Lily has zoned out and pretty much forgotten she is there, Hermione gets up quietly*
I'll see you later, Lils.
*she goes in search of the source of the consant noise she can now hear*

Re: Lily's Tree by the Lake
Lily walked to her tree and stared out over the lake, caught up in her thoughts for a moment before she shook herself out of them, turning back to her reading.
