You can't even look after yourself, it's a miracle Peter even let you hold the baby yesterday! You're just what Malfoy and Snape said you were - a filthy whore, a slut, a heartless, skanky bitch, and even if Remus won't admit it, he knows it too...

*Her hands are shaking, she reaches into her bag and pulls out a fresh bottle of firewhisky. She'd thought to throw it out - give it away - vanish it, do something to keep it away from her, but a little voice in her head had told her to keep it and now she knew why. Because she needed it, and this was all she was good for now. Hating herself, hoping to drown herself in the burning alcohol, she twists the lid off and takes a drink. It's surprisingly easy, so she takes another. Her hands stop shaking. She keeps going, and soon the bottle is mostly gone and the blur of her vision is no longer tears.*

Remus had been walking around looking for Hermione and finally had decided to check where they'd been hanging out the day before. She was sitting staring out over the water it seemed. He sighed and walked down coming up beside her. "Hey..." Then he notices the bottle of firewhisky she's holding. "Hermione, love, hand it over." He keeps his voice stern but not too demanding he doesn't want to anger her.

*She blinks, the sound of Remus' voice vaguely filtering through to her. She sniffles, looking away, wishing he wouldn't look at her, wouldn't see what a hopeless case she is. Almost confused, as if she can't quite remember how it got there, she looks down at the half empty bottle in her hand. What was she even doing here? With an indifferent, apathetic movement, she drops the bottle, letting the liquid within spill out over the rock, and curls up in a little ball, hugging her knees and rocking back and forth.*

"Look...I'm sorry I didn't want to tell you right away about what I was thinking. I was...just thinking about how my condition may affect any kids that I may have and it scared me. It's not that I didn't want to tell you it's just that I didn't want to voice it. Remus felt his own eyes well up with tears but he blinked them back. He was going to be strong for her she needed him. He pulled her into his arms and let her sob into his shoulder. "No Hermione. You are not a screw up and you did not ruin everything. You just have to learn from your mistakes and grow from them. I have to do the same thing. I trust you. I would trust you with my life, with everything I have. I love you." He continued to hold her against him and rocked her trying to calm her down.
