Regulus tightened his grip on the pouch in his pocket, and fixed Viktor with a cold stare. "No. All of this happened because of my selfishness and my pride. If I'd been able to swallow it for a little while, maybe I'd have told you I needed help, and gotten help from you, instead of from him," he said, thinking of Grindelwald and his pills, his stupid fucking pills. "This isn't the fault of any drugs, it's my fault. But what's done is done, and if they help me get through the day, then so be it."

"You're right. It is your fault. I told you to stay avay from Grindevald but you didn't listen, did you?"

Regulus bit his own tongue, glaring at him. "Excuse me for wanting to make my own judgement of people, instead of going by what I hear from others. And I was right to do so, wasn't I? Don't think I don't know, Viktor, he told me. You're no better than he is, even if your flaws are completely different. I still have yet to see a real reason from you as to why you hate him- at least I know that he's justified in his loathing of you. I'd hate you too, if I were him. I probably would, if I didn't love you so damn much. I didn't want to believe him."

"Vell I- Vait. Vot the hell are you talking about? He has no reason to hate me except for the fact that he's Grindevald and doesn't care about anyvon but himself. I have plenty of reasons to hate him."

"Plenty of reasons to hate him?! And what do you mean, he doesn't have reason to hate you! You! Don't play stupid, he, he told me, what happened at Durmstrang. You- you killed them! His friends!" he hissed, looking at Viktor with anger etched across his face. "I don't believe him, when he says you did it on purpose, but it doesn't change the fact that you did!"

Viktor stared at Regulus in shock. "You're kidding. You believe everything he tells you don't you? I never killed anyvon, but I don't think I should bother telling you vot happened because I doubt you'll listen to anything I say."

"What do you mean, you didn't kill anyone? Three people were in that duel, and only you came out alive. Do tell me how you explain that, if it wasn't you?" Regulus clenched his jaw, giving him a hard look. "And if I wasn't going to listen, don't you think I'd have walked away by now?"

"Two people died, yes. They vere carving Grindevald's mark into the vall and I tried to stop them. They pulled out their vands to fight me off and I fought back. I didn't kill them though. Grindevald might be good vith the dark arts. That doesn't mean his stupid followers are. They killed each other ven von of their spells backfired, okay? You know I vould never kill anyvon Regulus. You can't believe everything that he tells you. I told you he's manipulative."

Regulus looked surprised, but decided he believed Viktor. But Gellert hadn't seemed like he was lying in the least, the way he'd looked Regulus in the eyes. "I... I believe you, Viktor. But I don't think Gellert knows that- he really does think that you... Fuck," he said, making a mental note to speak to Gellert about this at some point, when he was sure Gellert wouldn't flip out on him like he normally did when the subject of his relationship with Viktor came up.

"I told you he vas manipulative Reg," he said quietly. "I vish you vould stop talking to him, but I know that's not going to happen."

[Gabriel Djinn Whiteraven]

Djinn stepped back in for a looksie and heard Viktor. He shrunk in saize and walked on Reg's shoulder, giving his hair a very sharp yank. "Yeah, ME TOO. BUT YOU DON'T LISTEN DO YOU." He smacked Reg's cheek and left a little sivler handprint, since he was utterly covered in blood because Marid was surprisingly winning.

Regulus shook his head. "He wasn't trying to manipulate me, Viktor. He'd been refusing to speak about why he hated you so much, for so long, and he didn't seem to want to share that story in the least. If he was trying to manipulate me, he'd have told me another day, and in a different way. But you're right, I won't stop speaking to him. He's about the only one who ever wants to speak to me, and he's the best friend that I've got. Him, and the drugs, they're all I have."

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

"He's using you. Vonce he gets vot he vants you're not going to mean anything to him. He doesn't care about you, and if you keep this up you're going to learn that the hard vay. Regulus, I've seen him do this before. Trust me. He really doesn't care about you. Not like I did."

Regulus paled again, thinking about how he hadn't seen Gellert since the night in their dormitory. He'd woken up alone that morning, and had seen no trace of Gellert since. But surely, Viktor was wrong, surely there was a logical reason- they'd just missed each other by chance. No, Gellert cared about Regulus. He'd been there for him, he'd held him while he cried, he'd made it all seem like it would be better. "You're wrong. He does care about me. He was there for me, he always has been there for me- he's my friend, my best friend!"

[Gabriel Djinn Whiteraven]

Djinn gets sent flying by Reg shaking his head. He crawls up Reg's sleeve and onto his shoulder. "HEY. WATCH IT."

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

"Of course he is. That's vot best friends do. They give their friends drugs and fuck up their lives. Regulus, you're falling for his trap. You're going to get hurt in the end and then who's going to be there for you ven Gellert is finished getting vot he vants?"

Regulus glowered at him. "He was helping me, Viktor. He thought he was helping me, when he gave me the pills. He knew I needed something, when I through out the cigarettes, and so he did what he could to help me. And he didn't fuck up my life. I fucked up my own life on my own, thanks. And I'm not going to get hurt, I know we- Gellert and I- mean nothing to him, I'm not stupid!"

"Vell I'm glad he gave you vot you vanted. Apparently I vas never enough for you. You needed the drugs too. I could have helped you, you know." He looked away from Regulus. "I hope you two are happy together vith your drugs."

Regulus frowned, and lifted his hand to reach for Viktor but quickly pulled away when he realized what he was doing. "I wish I had, Viktor. Reached out to you, I mean. But what's done is done."

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

"So do I," he said quietly before walking away.

Regulus stood up with the intention of running after him, and was halfway to him when he stopped himself, and let Viktor walk away. He needed to stop being selfish. He needed to let him go, so Viktor could be happy, away from him. "I love you," he whispered, knowing he was probably too far away to hear him.

Regulus walks away towards the forest, but stops when he sees something in the sand. There are footsteps, and a trail of something silver, and Reg's breath is caught in his throat. "Djinn?" he called out to the empty air, pausing and waiting for an answer that did not come. He continued on his way.

Luna takes off her shoes and walks down to the beach. She gets near the water and sits down.

[Gellert Grindelwald Inact]

Gellert ambles down to the lake and sees a blonde girl with a misty look in her eyes. He walks over to her, kicking off his own shoes. "Mind if I sit here?" he asked, running his hand through his hair as he looked carelessly at the spot next to her.
