Regulus looked revolted, and took a step back. Suddenly his eyes were filled with confusion as he noted the silver glint to Marid's hair, but he said nothing, shaking it off. "You're disgusting," he hissed, backing up again- into a corner- oh, fuck. "And why the hell should I trust you anyway? You're nothing but a murderer- and a coward. That's why you killed him, isn't it? You were afraid of him."

Regulus found himself trapped between Marid and the wall, and began to seriously panic. He drew his wand, pointing it at Marid, for whatever good it would do. "Fuck you, Marid," he snarled, trying to sound less intimidated than he actually was. "Get away from me. You're pathetic, you know that? And here I was thinking that you were above such human desires," he retorted, the hand holding the wand shaking in his anxiety.

Marid looked at Reg perplexedly. "Kissing for a deal isn't a human desire. It's a deal sealer, it lets me close to your soul...might give me a chance to kill it." Marid grinned wickedly and Joel is hoping Reg will notice how diffeerent Marid is acting and will remember that Djinn liked to push deals a lot. "anyway. Take it or leave it, mud statue." Marid had never said mud statue before. Another thine Joel is hoping Reg will catch.

Regulus bites his tongue, his words stinging him- mud statue. He missed Djinn, and the way he used to talk about the rest of the mortals; once they'd become friends, he'd stopped referring to Regulus as such. He was horribly reminded of Djinn in Marid's actions right now, and he would have thought it was nothing but for the silver in Marid's hair. Perhaps Djinn was trying to communicate with him! He knew he wasn't dead, he just couldn't be. "... I accept," he said bitterly, still looking utterly repulsed by the very though of kissing the demon murderer.

Marid grinned and jumped up, and kissed Reg firmly on the cheek. "Awesome!" He held out a hand, and djinn popped up in miniature, rubbed his eys, blinked and then jumped off. As soon as he landed ont he floor he just stood there, blinking at Reg.

Regulus stared for a moment at the dollie Djinn, and then rounded on Marid. "You- you little SHIT! You bastard, QUIT FUCKING WITH ME, I DON'T NEED THIS KIND OF BULLSHIT! INCARCEROUS!" he yelled, his wand pointed at Marid. The spell had left his lips before he realized what a stupid mistake he was making. He was never one for duels- that was Sirius' forte- and he had just attacked a god.

The spell flew right through Marid and hit a wall with a spastic fizzle of chords trying to grab air. He looked at Regulus in shock, and advanceed eyes sparking golden lightning. "Wanna try that again, thing?"

The word hit home. Thing. That's all Regulus felt like these days, a stupid little thing, who didn't deserve to be acknowledged as more- that's all he was, a poisoned object. "My name," he hissed, "is Regulus. I'm not some 'thing!'" He knew this was stupid, but he could no longer control his anger. It had been long since he felt like this- the last time had been when he'd last beat up Cormac. But all sense was gone, and the only thing left was his thirst for violence, his need to quench his hate. "Diffindo!" he snapped, aiming at Marid's face where his skin sliced open, golden blood spilling down his face.
